Set three years after Gi-hun's victory in Squid Game, the season explores his decision to forgo going to the States, returning with a new resolve. He dives back into the mysterious survival game, facing another deadly challenge alongside new participants vying for the staggering prize of 45.6 billion won.
Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk previously told Deadline that the new season will depict Gi-hun on a quest for revenge, returning to the game as a transformed, more serious character.
Squid Game became Netflix&rsquo;s most popular series of all time, racking up a record 1.65 billion views in the first 28 days after its 2021 premiere.
Lee Jung-jae made history as the first Asian man to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and the first to take home the award for a non-English show.
Meanwhile, Hwang Dong-hyuk became the first Asian to win an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.

Lee, alongside the ex-CEO of WYSIWYG Studios, Park In Gyu, has been accused of serious fraud allegations. The fraud complaint against the actor and the former CEO has been filed by RaemongRaein, the company behind acclaimed dramas 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal', 'Maestra' and 'Reborn Rich'. RaemongRaein's CEO, Kim Dong Rae has accused Lee's company, Artist United, and Park In-gyu, of misleading him with false promises.
<h3>Lee Jung Jae Accused of Fraud&nbsp;</h3>
Speaking to Korea Times, Kim Dong Rae revealed Lee Jung Jae and Park In Gyu assured Kim that the 'Squid Game' actor's industry connections would bring big investments and management changes to RaemongRaein. However, he alleged that they wanted to take over the company, replacing Kim as CEO and overtaking the entire board. The conflict intensified after Dong Rae found out about Artist United&rsquo;s plan to buy another firm instead of investing in his company.&nbsp;&nbsp;
According to Korea Times, Kim, in a statement, said, &ldquo;Contrary to our initial discussions before the investment, I learned that Artist United used Raemongraein&rsquo;s funds to acquire a suspended entertainment company. This move by (Lee and Artist United), just three months after becoming the largest shareholder, appears to be an attempt to use Raemongraein&rsquo;s cash assets as a shell to acquire another company.&rdquo;
&ldquo;I partnered with Artist United believing that Raemongraein could achieve global expansion through Lee Jung-jae&rsquo;s network and capital. However, Lee has never visited the company or presented any vision for its management. We cannot let Raemongraein become a victim of forces attempting to seize management rights through deceptive methods. I call on Lee Jung-Jae and the other investors to stop these unjust attempts and engage in sincere and reasonable discussions for the growth and development of Raemongraein,&rdquo; Kim Dong-rae added.
<h3>Lee Jung Jae denies accusations</h3>
Following Kim Dong Rae's complaint against him at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station for violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (Fraud), Jae's team told the portal that Kim had not followed the investors' demand. The lawyer also added that Raemongraein CEO has also blocked calls for a special meeting, which would have allowed investors to participate in the company's management decisions.&nbsp;

In December 2021, a woman filed a complaint against the senior actor. Today, March 15, the court convicted the actor for the crimes, according to a report by BBC.
According to AFP, the judge said the victim's records of the assault and her claims were "consistent ... and appear to be statements that cannot be made without actually experiencing them".
For the uninitiated, a woman alleged that she was hugged and kissed on her cheek against her will. After a complaint was filed against him in 2021, Oh denied the charges, but as re-investigation commenced, all public advertisements in his name were taken down.&nbsp;

New additions for &lsquo;Squid Game 2&rsquo; include Park Gyu-young (Sweet Home), Jo Yu-ri of Iz*One, Kang Ae-sim (Move to Heaven), Lee David (The Fortress and Svaha: The Sixth Finger), Lee Jin-uk (Miss Granny and Sweet Home), BigBang member Choi Seung-hyun (Tazza: The Hidden Card and Commitment), Roh Jae-won (Missing Yoon and Ditto), and Won Ji-an (Heartbeat).
The recurring cast members will include, Lee Byung-hun, who will return as the Front Man and Wi Ha-jun, who reprise his role as police detective Jun-ho. Gong Yoo will be coming back as well, along with Lee Jung-jae.
The main cast members will include Yim Si-wan (Unlocked), Kang Ha-Neul (Midnight Runners), Park Sung-hoon (The Glory) and Yang Dong-geun (Yaksha: Ruthless Operations).
&lsquo;Squid Game&rsquo;, directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, remains one of the highest-watched series on Netflix. The show first debuted on September 17, 2021.
Following the global success, a new competition show, titled &lsquo;Squid Game: The Challenge&rsquo;, was also announced.
The competition will feature 456 players who will be fighting for a $4.56M cash prize.

As reported by Variety, the victim lodged a police complaint against the actor in December 2021. The case was closed in April this year, although the authorities reopened the case at the victim's request as per the South Korean news agency AFP.
The actor has denied all the claims and allegations against him. Variety quoted the actor&rsquo;s statement to JTBC in the matter, 'I just held her hand to guide the way around the lake. I apologized because [the person] said she wouldn't make a fuss about it but it doesn't mean that I admit the charges.'
Following the charges against him, Seoul's culture ministry has decided to stop airing a government commercial with featured &nbsp;O Yeong Su, as per news agency AFP.

From sumptuous Korean food to the sensational&nbsp;BTS&nbsp;to famous drama series like Squid Game, the Korean creative wave, also known as Hallyu&nbsp;has affected people the world over in some way or another.&nbsp;
Now the same wave has seemed to hit the editors of the Oxford English Dictionary, who have added 26 Korean words to its latest edition.&nbsp;
Some of the words out of the 26 that have been included are:
Skinship: The word, Skinship&nbsp;captures the emotions and bond between two people.&nbsp;
Hallyu: The word, Hallyu&nbsp;indicates the increasing interest in South Korea and its culture represented through music, film and television.&nbsp;
Mukbang: The word, Mukbang&nbsp;refers to a video of a person eating lots of food while interacting with the audience.&nbsp;
Aegyo: The word, Aegyo&nbsp;refers to behaviour that is seemingly cute and adorable.&nbsp;
Hanbok: The word, Hanbok&nbsp;is the traditional Korean dress consisting of a long-sleeved jacket and a long high-waisted&nbsp;skirt for women&nbsp;and loose trousers for men.&nbsp;
