A court here on Saturday extended till July 6 the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar.

Kumar was produced through video conferencing before Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal who extended his judicial custody till July 6.
Kumar was arrested on May 18. He was sent to police custody for five days the same day by a magisterial court, which observed that his anticipatory bail plea had become infructuous because of his arrest.
On May 24, he was sent to four days judicial custody, following which he was again remanded in police custody for three days.
An FIR was registered against Kumar on May 16 under various Indian Penal Code provisions, including those related to criminal intimidation, assault or criminal force on a woman with the intent to disrobe and attempt to commit culpable homicide.&nbsp;

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Sunday claimed that she has been getting rape and death threats following Aam Aadmi Party-orchestrated campaign of character assassination against her. She added that the situation got further exacerbated when YouTuber Dhruv Rathee posted a video against her, which she called one-sided.
"After the leaders and volunteers of my party i.e. AAP orchestrated a campaign of character assassination, victim shaming and fanning of emotions against me, I have been getting rape and death threats. This got further exacerbated when YouTuber @Dhruv_Rathee posted a one-sided video against me," Maliwal said in the X post.
"As far as the party leadership goes, it is very clear that they are trying to intimidate me into withdrawing my complaint. However, for Dhruv, I tried my best to reach out to him to tell him my version but he ignored my calls and messages. It is shameful that people like him, who claim to be independent journalists could act like other AAP spokespersons and victim shame me to the extent that I am now facing extreme abuses and threats," she added.
Notably, Rathee had posted a video on social media to explain the controversy surrounding the alleged assault against Maliwal. Rathee narrated Maliwal's allegations, counter-allegations against her and described the two videos that emerged after the incident.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police on Wednesday brought back Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar from Mumbai, where he had been taken a day before for the discovery of data from his iPhone, an officer said.
Kumar is in a five-day police custody in connection with the alleged assault on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the Delhi CM's residence.
On Tuesday, Kumar had been taken to Mumbai for the discovery of data from his phone which he had allegedly formatted before his arrest.
Police suspect Kumar formatted his phone after transferring its data to some person or device in Mumbai.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's PS, Bibhav Kumar has been charged with destruction of evidence under Indian Penal Code section 201 in an FIR against him in connection with Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal assault case, Indian Express reported.
Kumar was arrested from CM residence on Saturday over allegations of assaulting former DCW chief Swati Maliwal on May 13.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, the investigating team on Monday took Kumar to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence for a recreation of the alleged crime scene, an officer said.
Earlier, the Delhi Police in its remand paper submitted late May 18 evening seeking seven days custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar regarding the alleged assault on AAP Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal said that it was a "serious case" where the "brutal assault" could have turned "fatal".
Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal, who sent Kumar to five-day police custody, was told by the investigating agency that he did not cooperate with the police and had been evasive in his replies.

Taking to the microblogging site X on Friday evening, Swati Maliwal, the former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) said, "I have received information that now these people are tampering with the CCTV of the house."

Even as police launched a probe into the case, Maliwal and AAP have been up in the arms with allegations and counter allegations.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar on Friday filed a police complaint against AAP MP Swati Maliwal, alleging she breached the security of the CM's residence to gain unauthorised entry on May 13 and created a ruckus there, the party said.
It also said that when Kumar tried to stop her she hurled abuses at him.
In his complaint filed via an e-mail to the Civil Lines Police Station SHO, Kumar said now she is trying to falsely implicate him by alleging that he assaulted her at the chief minister's residence when she had gone to meet Kejriwal.
Kumar has also sent a copy of his complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North).
In a statement, the AAP said Kumar has said in his complaint that Maliwal breached the security of the CM's residence, gained access forcibly and unauthorisedly, and created a ruckus there.
When Kumar tried to stop her, she hurled abuses at him with the intent to physically assault him, according to the complaint.
Kumar also said in the complaint that Maliwal is now trying to falsely implicate him so as to create undue pressure on him.
Maliwal has already filed an FIR against Kumar alleging that he assaulted her when she had gone to meet Kejriwal at his official residence on May 13.
Kumar in his complaint said Maliwal barged into Kejriwal's residence on May 13 by telling security personnel that she was a Rajya Sabha MP.
"Despite requests by security officers to wait until he gets the details of her appointment verified, she forcibly entered the CM's residence despite the objections," Kumar said in his complaint.
The complaint stated that she trespassed despite repeated objections by security personnel and CM office staff.
It was claimed in the complaint that at 9:22 am when Kumar entered the main building of the CM's residence, he found Maliwal sitting in the drawing room.
"Kumar approached Maliwal and politely requested her to follow the proper procedure for meeting the chief minister. To this, Maliwal started screaming and shouting at Kumar, and hurled abuses. She said: 'tumhari himmat kaise hui...ek MP ko rokne ki....tumhari aukat kya hai? (How dare you to stop an MP)'," the complaint stated.
Maliwal ignored the requests and started walking from the drawing room towards the inner parts of the residence, Kumar said in his complaint.
Kumar claimed that she intended to harm Kejriwal and he strongly "objected". Maliwal became angry and sat on a sofa and called the police control room. She started levelling false allegations, the complainant said.
Kumar said that when he requested Maliwal to leave the CM's residence, she said "Main tujhe dekh lungi...main tujhe aese joothe case mei fasaungi ki tujhe zindagi bhar jail mei sadah dungi ....(I will trap you in a false case and you will spend your whole life in prison)".
He said he called security officers in the main building and they too requested her to leave. She left the premises at 9.35 am, the complaint said.
Kumar has alleged that Maliwal trespassed, breached security of the CM's residence, prevented government officers from discharging their duty and assaulted him. Therefore, she is liable for action as per the law, he said.
Kumar said, "You (SHO) are requested to take appropriate legal action against Maliwal. Since it is election time, all of this may have been done at the behest of the BJP and it is therefore, requested that her call records, chats and interactions with BJP leaders should also be investigated."

As the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) grapples with former DCW chief Swati Maliwal's allegations that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's assistant misbehaved with her at the CM's residence, speculation has emerged of an ongoing rift between the party and its Rajya Sabha MP.
Maliwal was, notably, absent when when AAP staged continued protests in Delhi after Kejriwal was arrested in March.&nbsp;
She was, however, active on social media, posting messages in support of the party and its chief.&nbsp;
&ldquo;I will fight against enemies of the country like you from the streets to the Parliament. I have been working with Arvind Kejriwal and will continue to do so till my last breath. What you are terming as a sinking ship has risen further due to your atrocities. Just like I troubled you for the last nine years from the Women&rsquo;s Commission, be ready for the next six years as well!&rdquo; Maliwal had written on X.
The first-time MP was in the US for her sister's treatment.

The Print reported, quoting sources, that the rift was brewing for months. Kejriwal was reportedly unhappy with her prolonged absence around the time of his arrest.
Maliwal has been associated with both Kejriwal and Sisodia since the India Against Corruption movement.
Interestingly, so has Kejriwal's assistant Bibhav Kumar. He is said to have worked as a video journalist editing videos for the movement.
Kumar served as personal secretary to the Delhi chief minister until April this year, when he was removed from the post following a vigilance complaint.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, "'Sheeshmahal' has become 'Shoshanmahal' and just like Draupadi's 'cheerharan' took place, Kejriwal was witness to assault and violence on Swati Maliwal, a female Rajya Sabha MP."
Poonawalla further questioned the silence of Congress leaders.
"The question is, why Kejriwal is silent, why is he protecting Bibhav Kumar which means he is behind the assault, not Bibhav Kumar. Where are the INDI alliance members, Priyanka Vadra, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi? Silent on a woman issue," said Poonawalla.
Later in the day, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi spoke on the issue and gave a twofold response. While campaigning in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli, Gandhi said that while she would always stand with women this was a matter of the Aam Aadmi Party.
"If any atrocity happens to any woman anywhere, we stand with the woman. I always stand with women, regardless of the party. Secondly, AAP will discuss amid themselves and make a decision. It is up to them," she said.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh later intervened and expressed the stand of the party on the whole issue.
"The entire country was in pain after seeing what happened in Manipur but PM Modi was silent on the issue. Prajwal Revanna raped thousands of women but PM Modi was asking for votes for Prajwal Revanna. When our wrestlers were protesting at Jantar Mantar, Swati Maliwal who was DCW chief was beaten up by police."

As pressure grows on Arvind Kejriwal to sack his aide for alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal, Bibhav Kumar was seen accompanying the Delhi chief minister at Lucknow airport late Tuesday night. Another AAP MP Sanjay Singh was also spotted alongside the chief minister.
Kejriwal arrived in Lucknow, where he will hold a joint press conference with INDIA bloc ally and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav.

Addressing a press conference a day after Maliwal alleged that a member of Kejriwal's personal staff "assaulted" her, Singh said AAP supremo Kejriwal will take strict action in the matter.
BJP demanded that Singh's statement should be the basis for immediate filing of an FIR by police and those guilty should be promptly dealt with.
Police, however, said they are still waiting for her to come and file a formal complaint, but added that they have not closed the DD (daily diary) entry as Maliwal had come to the police station on Monday and said she would return to lodge a case, reports PTI news agency.&nbsp;
During the press conference on Tuesday, Singh said it is a "highly condemnable incident" and added the Aam Aadmi Party is in solidarity with her during this hour.
"Yesterday morning, Maliwal had gone to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. While she was waiting to meet him in the drawing room, Bibhav Kumar came and misbehaved with her. This is a highly condemnable incident. Kejriwal has taken cognisance of it and will take strict action in the incident," he added.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said the AAP's silence regarding the incident on Monday reflects the mentality of the party.
"Sanjay Singh's statement that the party will take action in the matter is quite embarrassing..." he said.
Sachdeva said instead of deciding after violence against a woman, arrests should have been made immediately.
"Sanjay Singh claims that Arvind Kejriwal was not there at the time, but the BJP knows through sources that this entire incident occurred at the behest of and in front of Arvind Kejriwal," he alleged.

Amid the alleged assault incident of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister's residence, Swati Maliwal's ex-husband, Naveen Jaihind on Tuesday claimed that the life of the former chief of Delhi Commission for Women is under threat, adding that AAP leader Sanjay Singh should stop doing drama in front of the cameras as he is "aware of everything".
Hours before, Sanjay Singh in a press briefing stated that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had taken cognizance of Maliwal's assault incident at the Chief Minister's residence and had directed strict action in the incident. "We are with Swati Maliwal,"
Naveen Jaihind said that whatever happened with Maliwal was already "planned" and urged her to speak for herself.
In a video message on X, Naveen Jaihind said, "I am Naveen Jaihind. Since yesterday, I have been getting a lot of calls from journalists regarding what happened with Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister's residence. First, I want to say that I am divorced and have not been in contact with her for the last four years. Second, I want to tell you that whatever has happened with Swati was planned and now she has been threatened and anything can happen to her."
Maliwal's ex-husband further stated that the alleged assault on her happened at the "instructions of someone".
"The man who has assaulted Swati does not have the guts to even raise his voice but he did that on the instructions of someone. I was just listening to Sanjay Singh's press conference and wanted to tell him that he should stop acting, as he knows everything.
Swati should stand up and speak for herself. What are you afraid of? Speak up, we are all with you. Her life is under threat," said Naveen Jaihind.
According to Delhi Police, Swati Maliwal has not yet contacted them to register her complaint. The police said that it would wait for some more time for the complaint and if no complaint is still received from Swati Maliwal, then Delhi Police might contact her.
According to Delhi Police sources, a PCR call means asking for police help in an emergency and not filing any complaint."The complaint is registered only when the complainant registers his complaint in writing in the police station, in this case also by Swati Maliwal. Unless a written complaint is lodged, Delhi Police can neither register any complaint nor any FIR."
Earlier today, while addressing a press conference, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, "Yesterday, an incident took place. At the residence of Arvind Kejriwal, an incident of misbehaviour took place with Swati Maliwal by Bibhav Kumar (Arvind Kejriwal's PA).
Swati Maliwal has informed about this incident to Delhi Police. This is a condemnable incident. Arvind Kejriwal has taken cognizance of the incident and has directed strict action in the incident. We are with Swati Maliwal."

Maliwal also made PCR calls after the alleged verbal spat, officials said. The two calls were made at 10 am.

Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal reportedly went to the Civil Lines police station in Delhi and claimed that a member of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal staff misbehaved with her. Police have not yet received a formal complaint, reports PTI news agency.
However, it is unclear what actually happened at the chief minister's residence and how the whole scene unfolded.
Reports stated that Maliwal made two PCR calls at 10 am after the alleged verbal spat.&nbsp;
But when a Delhi Police team reached the CM's residence, they did not find Maliwal there, ANI news agency reported quoting police sources.
DCP (North) Manoj Meena told ANI news agency, "A PCR call was received by the Civil Lines police at 9.34 am in which a woman claimed to be assaulted at the CM's residence. After some time, the MP Madam (Maliwal) visited the Civil Lines police station. However, she left soon after saying he would file a complaint later."
There was no immediate reaction from either the chief minister's residence or from Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party.
