Once again the great wall has shown why he's loved by all... The former Indian cricket team head coach has refused to take home an additional 2.5 crore rupees allocated to him by the BCCI following India's T20 World Cup triumph.
The Indian Cricket governing body had allocated a total of 125 crore rupees with the 15 players and the head coach to receive rupees 5 crore each while the support staff were to receive rupees 2.5 crore each.
According to Hindustan Times, Dravid has requested that his allocation to be the same as that of his coaching staff. This isn't the first time the Dravid has done such an act. During his tenure as head coach of the Under-19 world cup winning Indian team, he refused the formula that would see him receive 50 lakh rupees while his support staff would get 20 lakhs each. Instead, a revised formula was devised which ensured every member of the coaching staff including Dravid receive 25 lakh rupees instead.

Pandya&rsquo;s comeback journey following an ankle injury which he suffered in the ODI World Cup was one that is replete with elements of disappointment and dejection but also with utmost resilience and determination shown against adversity.
Once a mainstay of the dominating Mumbai Indians&rsquo; side, he had gone to Gujarat Titans for a couple of years only to comeback but in a way that many did not accept.
Pandya&rsquo;s return to Mumbai Indians replacing &lsquo;Mumbaicha Raja, Rohit Sharma&rsquo; was something that angered the fans.
There is a school of thought which maintains that IPL fans are different from those in international cricket, but Pandya had to bear the worst brunt. Amid all that, there were unconfirmed reports of separation with wife Natasa Stankovic.
Boos, heckles and all sorts of negativity were hurled at Pandya when he first led the Mumbai Indians side at Ahmedabad in their season opener.

As Rohit was leaving amid the ovation and cheer, all that quickly turned into loud boos as Pandya walked in to bat.
But all that were matters of past when Pandya landed amid defeaning cheers with a vast sea of fans filling up the Wankhede Stadium as well as the Marine Drive to the brim.
"See you soon, Wankhede," wrote the World Cup champion as he posted his selfie with the trophy before the parade here.
Inside the stadium, chants of &lsquo;Hardik&hellip; Hardik&rsquo; began to reverberate.
He was among the first to walk out with the trophy aloft his shoulder at the airport here earlier and at his &lsquo;homeground&rsquo;, Pandya was the first to show the coveted trophy to the thousands of fans who waited for hours.
Chaos, stampede-like situation was widely anticipated and feared but everyone was in the mood to cheer for India&rsquo;s heroes including Pandya, who took part in the open bus ride for a couple of hours before heading to the Wankhede Stadium.
And when Virat Kohli in his speech underlined Suryakumar Yadav&rsquo;s catch in the final over off Pandya, cheers were thunderous as Wankhede in unison cheered &lsquo;Hardik&hellip; Hardik&rsquo;.
"The biggest turnaround happened in terms of (when) he was included. We could bat deep and we had an extra bowling option. In last ODI World Cup final we missed him," said a fan.
"The biggest testament is Hardik&rsquo;s mental strength, he was booed in the (first game) here against CSK. But still he did not hit back, kept his head down and kept working.
"All the hate he got was unwarranted. The owners took him in, he had nothing to do with it. There was no point booing him &mdash; he was our captain but we did not. Obviously, we did not qualify (for the playoffs) but we are just here to celebrate him and smile all day," he added.
"The problem with us MI fans is that we have very short memories. Now we are going to cheer &lsquo;Mumbaicha Raja Hardik Hardik&rsquo;. We will accept him as MI captain now," he said.
Hyderabad-based Srinivas Reddy, a Bank of America employee, logged out at 3:30am and took an early flight to reach Mumbai only to celebrate India and Hardik&rsquo;s feat.
&ldquo;IPL is different from international cricket, it is purely entertainment cricket. I am happy for him, he scored runs and took wickets that too at the crucial times. We needed that (Heinrich) Klaasen wicket (in the final),&rdquo; Reddy said.&nbsp;

Hundreds of supporters, holding placards congratulating their favourites and waving the national flag, braved the inclement weather to wait outside the airport for the victorious side, which defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final in Bridgetown on Saturday last week.
There was dancing, there were multiple cakes, and there were fans on streets showing just why cricket is the most passionately followed sport in the country. The weary players joined in the fun after arriving at the hotel from airport to complete the party atmosphere.
"We have waited for this moment for the past 13 years. The team has made us proud by winning the World Cup," a fan, who claimed to have been waiting since 4:30am in the morning said, referring to India's last World Cup triumph which came back in 2011.
The side was unable to head back home immediately after the title win due to a shutdown forced by hurricane Beryl in Barbados. They were cocooned in their hotel before the BCCI secretary Jay Shah made arrangements for a special charter flight.
The Air India special charter flight AIC24WC -- Air India Champions 24 World Cup -- which left Barbados around 4:50am local time on Wednesday arrived in Delhi at 6am (IST) on Thursday after a 16-hour non-stop journey.
Heavy security was deployed to keep the crowd in check at the Indira Gandhi International airport but that did little to dampen the spirits as fans cheered enthusiastically holding up posters of star batter Virat Kohli, skipper Rohit Sharma and outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid.
Two buses were stationed outside the T3 Terminal to ferry the players to ITC Maurya Sheraton, where they were greeted by dhol and traditional Bhangra dancers.
Most of them, including skipper Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant, shook a leg with the assembled dancers, giving them a memory that would last a lifetime.
Even the on-duty security personnel had smiles on their faces as the players let their hair down after the long journey, shook hands with everyone who wanted to and moved into their rooms after cutting yet another cake that was kept ready for them.
All of this unfolded amid expected media frenzy. A brief while later, they left to meet Modi at his official residence, continuing a hectic schedule that awaits them through the day.
They spent close to two hours at the 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence of the Prime Minister before heading back to the hotel.
Earlier, at the airport, the players trickled out in ones and twos after completing immigration formalities.

Suryakumar, who took the sensational match-winning catch of David Miller in the final, was the most animated in responding to the cheering.

Rohit and Player of the Final Kohli, both of whom retired from T20Is at the end of India's campaign, were among the last to come out of the VIP exit.
Rohit raised the coveted trophy for the fans to catch a glimpse before boarding the bus. Kohli, on his part, gave a thumbs up to acknowledge the support.
In their excitement to see their heroes in person, some fans claimed that they had been waiting outside the airport since last night.
"We have been here since last night. It was very important for us to win this World Cup after losing the ODI World Cup last year," a group of fans said.

Just over a week ago, before the 2024 T20 World Cup semifinals, BCCI revealed a glimpse of the future of T20I cricket by selecting a fresh Indian team for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour, excluding Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The team led by Shubman Gill will participate in five T20Is from July 6 onwards, but none of the players from the T20 World Cup winning team will be included as they have all been given a rest. Some players will only join the squad for the later part of the series.
The selection committee recently announced Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the initial two T20 matches against Zimbabwe. The trio, who were part of India's T20 World Cup winning squad, will join the Shubman-gill-led side for the final three T20Is against Zimbabwe.

Needing 16 runs from the final over, the dangerous David Miller hit a wide full toss from Hardik Pandya but Suryakumar steadied himself on the ropes, caught the ball, released it just as he went over the boundary ropes and then came back in to complete an astonishing catch.
"When the moment comes, it's his decision and awareness of rope, that's very important, and knowing with confidence that he can throw and come back, it's a decision making at that time, and he got on to that," Dilip told PTI Video while speaking about the catch.

"Second, we all come through a system, like India A, NCA... One great thing about this squad is that there is a combination of experienced players and a combination of youth, and they really gel well together," Dilip said after the team's title triumph on Saturday.
Dilip is the best example of someone who has risen through the ranks, coaching in a state cricket academy's junior age-group programme, serving as an assistant fielding coach in the now defunct IPL side Deccan Chargers while also spending a decade at the National Cricket Academy.
He has put in the hard yards since being appointed to the post and it reflected in the India's efforts on the field.
He said it is difficult to track the white ball while taking high catches during daytime matches.
"Especially under clear sky, it becomes really difficult, and for that too we say that track the ball so that you get that much anchor point. So, if there is cloud, floodlights, then it becomes easier to track. But, definitely, it's still not easy to track, especially for players from the sub-continent," Dilip said.
Since 2012, Dilip has worked at various ZCA (Zonal Cricket Academy) and NCA age-group camps. He has worked with the likes of Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal during his NCA days and hence, there is a familiarity with the younger group of cricketers in the national set-up.
As far as the senior players are concerned, his good work didn't go unnoticed by erstwhile NCA director and outgoing India head coach Rahul Dravid, who ensured that Dilip got regular India A assignments, which would also help him develop training modules for elite cricketers.

Rohit Sharma had never thought about retiring from T20 Internationals but like Virat Kohli, the charismatic Indian skipper had to make way for the younger generation and he said there was "nothing better" than saying goodbye with an elusive World Cup trophy.
Speaking to select media after a thrilling seven-run win in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa, Rohit said he could not have picked a better time to leave the T20 format. However, he was quick to add that he would continue playing the IPL.
"I don't make decisions like this about my future. Whatever I feel is right from inside I try to do that. I don't think much about the future or whether I would play this World Cup after the ODI World Cup last year," the 37-year-old swashbuckler said.
"I never thought that I would retire from T20s. But the situation is such, I thought it is the perfect situation for me. Nothing better than winning the cup and saying goodbye," added Rohit when asked if would have retired from T20s earlier if India won the ODI World Cup at home seven months ago.
'Sab likha hua hai'&nbsp; India could not cross the finishing line in the ODI showpiece despite being the most balanced team in the tournament. They also had to endure a loss to Australia at the World Test Championship final last June.
Using a popular Hindi film line, Rohit said the triumph here was written in the stars.
"Jo likha hain who hone wala hain, ye likha tha but humko pata nahi hain kee kab likha hain. Nahi toh hum aaram se aate and bolte 'likha hain' aur ho jayega (I believe that what is written is going to happen. I think it was written. But obviously you don't know before the match. Otherwise, we would have easily come and said, it's written)," he quipped.
"Everything has to fall in place. As you saw, we were way behind the game. At one point, it seemed like they would win easily," he said referring to South Africa gaining the upper hand courtesy Heinrich Klaasen's blazing 52 off 27 balls.
Life has come full circle for Rohit, who was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup win under Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy.
Talking about his T20 journey since then, he said: "I was told that I started in 2007, won the World Cup and I am leaving the game after winning the World Cup. So that's a tailor-made situation for me. A proper full circle. So I'm very happy with this." "I was 20 years old at that time. I tell my players to try perform their role. I had a role at that time. I used to bat at 5 or 6 number. So, it was very important to finish well for us.
"I understand the game much better now, having played for so many years. So, it's been brilliant," he said adding that it is a big challenge to play and captain in all three formats.
Considering the circumstances and India's long wait for a title, the win on Saturday was one of the greatest of his career.
"This has to be the greatest time I can say that. It's only because how desperately I wanted to win this. So, all the runs, all the runs that I've scored in all these years, I think it does matter, but I'm not big on stats and all of that.
"Winning games for India, winning trophies for India, that is what I look forward to all the time. And having this now right beside me probably has to be, I don't know, honestly, I don't know if it's the greatest or what but it is definitely one of the greatest," said Rohit.
He went down on his knees after the victory was sealed. On that emotional moment, Rohit said he was desperate for the trophy.
"...it was very emotional. I wanted this badly. So, it's very hard to put it in words because that moment, I don't want to say what I was thinking and what was going in my mind, but it was a very emotional moment personally for me.
"And I'm going to, I wish I could capture that moment myself but not really, you can't do that but I will always remember that," he said.
Kohli and Dravid deserved this high ====================== He also acknowledged the massive contribution of batting mainstay Virat Kohli, who cae good in the final with a crucial 76 after a lean tournament overall, and outgoing coach Rahul Dravid.
"More than any one of us, Rahul bhai deserved that trophy. What he has done for Indian cricket for the past 20-25 years, I think this was the only thing that was left in his cabinet. I am very happy from all of us on behalf of the entire team that we could actually do this for him," he said.
"Look, Virat has been a champion player without a doubt. And we all know what he has done for us. At some point everyone has to say goodbye to the game and Virat was very clear that this is what he wanted to do and he was very clear before the start of the tournament as well.
"I am very happy for him that he batted like he did in the finals," added Rohit.

The match was truncated by three overs with South Africa being set with a revised target of 123 in 17 overs.
The Proteas chased that down in 16.1 overs to knock the hosts out and become the second team to qualify for the last four stage in the World Cup.

Pacer Chris Jordan grabbed a sensational hat-trick in his birthplace before captain Jos Buttler's blitzkrieg as defending champions England stormed into the semifinals of the T20 World Cup with a 10-wicket mauling of USA here on Sunday.
Making a comeback in place of Mark Wood, Jordan (4/10) mopped up the USA tail by claiming four wickets in five balls, including the hat-trick, in the 19th over as the Americans folded for 115 in 18.5 overs after England opted to bowl.
Buttler then blazed away to a 38-ball 83 not out as England completed the chase in 9.4 overs to become the first team to make the semifinals of the showpiece.
During his scintillating knock, Buttler smashed seven sixes and six fours, including hitting five maximums in a Harmeet Singh over to leave the USA bowling bruised and battered.
Earlier, the 35-year-old Jordan, who was born and grew up in Christ Church, Barbados, began the penultimate over dismissing a well-set Corey Anderson for 29 with a low full toss.
After surviving the next ball, Ali Khan found his off stump knocked over before Jordan went on to dismiss Nosthush Kenjige and Saurabh Netravalkar off successive deliveries to pick the first hat-trick for England in T20Is.
Jordan had figures of 4/10 from his 2.5 overs.
Jordan also became only the second bowler in T20 World Cup history to pick four wickets in a single over.
"We summed up the conditions pretty well... Rashid set up the game for us. Points first and foremost," said Jordan.
Curtis Campher of Ireland was the first to pick four wickets in a single over against the Netherlands during the 2021 edition in Abu Dhabi.
It was Sam Curran (2/13) who triggered the collapse by dismissing Harmeet Singh (21; 17b) in the final delivery of the previous over as USA suffered a stunning collapse, losing five wickets in six balls for no run.
Earlier, Adil Rashid took a miserly 2/13 in four overs to set up the game as he also returned with the player-of-the-match.
"Always nice to come here and bowl. It also helps when the bowlers are keeping it tight from the other end. With the wind you got to assess from which end you will bowl," said Rashid.
Andries Gous flicked Reece Topley towards fine leg for a six but two balls later, hit the ball straight to Phil Salt at deep square leg while attempting a similar shot.
USA faced some nervous moments in the day's second over as Steven Taylor survived a run out after giving up hope of returning back to the crease in time. It would have been over for him if Liam Livingstone's throw had hit the stumps.
At the other end, Nitish Kumar top-edged a fast delivery from Jofra Archer that flew over deep third man for a maximum.
Nitish played a lovely shot over mid on for a boundary off Topley and in the next ball, the Canadian-born 30-year-old produced a clean hit over long-on for a six.
Curran was brought in as first change and he delivered in his first over, cutting short Taylor's stay in the middle thanks to an excellent catch by Moeen Ali at backward point. Taylor's dismissal marked Curran's 50th wicket in T20 Internationals.
Skipper Aaron Jones quickly got off the mark by steering one through the third man region for a four as USA ended powerplay at 48 for two.
Buttler handed the ball to Rashid, who has been having a pretty good tournament, and the leg-spinner began his spell by conceding only two runs.
Rashid did what was expected of him in his second over, bowling out Jones with a beautiful googly to deny the USA captain a chance to face Archer, his childhood friend and school-mate.
The two grew up together in Barbados, dreaming of playing international cricket for West Indies before going on to represent their adopted countries.
Having dried up the boundaries, England tasted success again when Rashid employed his effective googly to cut short Nitish's promising stay.
Nitish struck two sixes and a four.
Livingstone had Milind Kumar caught behind as USA slipped to 88 for five at the end of the 14th over.
The 100 came up in the 17th over as Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh tried to prop up the USA innings.
USA had a productive 18th over as they got 14 runs off Curran after a six a four by Harmeet, who was however dismissed in the last ball that brought their downfall.
