According to the Indian Express, TISS confirmed that a funding of ₹4.79 crore has been sanctioned by the Tata Education Trust.

More than 100 contractual staffers at the Tata Institute of Social Science who were on the verge of termination over lack of funds can keep their jobs.
The institute said the Tata Education Trust has agreed to release funds required to renew the contracts of the &nbsp;staffers.
According to the Indian Express, TISS confirmed that a funding of ₹4.79 crore has been sanctioned by the Trust.
The administration said that the June 28 letter informing about the non-renewal of contracts stands withdrawn and asked the staffers to &nbsp;continue their work.
The contracts of the teaching and non-teaching staff at four TISS campuses -- Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati -- were due to end on June 30, some faculty members on Sunday told PTI on condition of anonymity.
A bulk of them worked on the TISS campuses other than Mumbai, they said.

Organic India also gives Tata access to the pharma distribution sectors.

The Tata Group's FMCG arm is expected to fund half of these deals through internal accruals. The report also mentioned that Capital Foods and Organic India is set to provide a growth opportunity with gross margins in the 50-55% range.
The acquistion also comes at a time when Tata is looking to make its core tea a premium business, strengthen the pantry platform, and expand into snacking, mini-meals, and future growth supplements.
To expand the reach of Capital Foods and Organic India products, Tata Consumer Products will leverage its distribution breadth of 3.9 million outlets. The FMCG company has emphasised maintaining the authenticity of Organic India's organic products and benefiting from Tata's extensive testing protocols while giving an opportunity to build its health and wellness platform.

According to a Bloomberg report, the deal negotiations had stalled over valuation concerns.
Tata Consumer, which owns the &ldquo;Himalayan&rdquo; mineral water brand, said it was interested in acquiring a stake in Bisleri International as a part of its expansion in September 2022.
Tata Consumer was set to acquire India&rsquo;s largest packaged drinking water company, Bisleri, for an estimated Rs 6,000-7,000 crore. Bisleri, with a market share of 32%, is the leader in the Rs 20,000 crore packaged drinking water segment. A potential deal with Bisleri would have catapulted the Tata Group to become the packaged water giant.

As per reports, the deal size could be anywhere between 70 to 80 billion dollars and that an order of this size would also come with huge discounts.&nbsp;
But that&rsquo;s not all, Air India also has the option to buy another 370 jets over the next 10 years.&nbsp; Which means, that this deal has the potential to get even bigger.&nbsp;
This decision is important both economically as well geopolitically. In a major consolidation in the Indian aviation space, Tata group on Tuesday announced the merger of Vistara with Air India, and pursuant to the deal, Singapore Airlines will have a 25.1 per cent stake in Air India.
The proposed deal is expected to be complete by March 2024, subject to regulatory approvals.
Tata group owns a 51 per cent stake in Vistara and the rest is with Singapore Airlines (SIA).
In a release, SIA said Vistara and Air India would be merged, and it would also be investing Rs 2,058.5 crore in Air India as part of the transaction.
"This would give SIA a 25.1 per cent stake in an enlarged Air India group with a significant presence in all key market segments.
SIA said it intends to fully fund this investment with its internal cash resources, which stood at 17.5 billion Singapore dollars as of September 30.
In a separate release, Tata group said that with the consolidation, Air India would be the country's leading domestic and international carrier with a combined fleet of 218 aircraft, "making it India's largest international carrier and second largest domestic carrier".
SIA and Tata Sons have also agreed to participate in additional capital injections, if required, to fund the growth and operations of the enlarged Air India in FY2022-23 and FY2023-24. &nbsp;"Based on SIA's 25.1 per cent stake post-completion, its share of any additional capital injection could be up to Rs 50,200 million (S$ 880 million, US$ 615 million), payable only after the completion of the merger," SIA said in the release.
The actual amount will depend on factors, including the progress of the enlarged Air India's business plan, and its access to other funding options. SIA intends to fully fund any additional capital injections with its internal cash resources, it added.
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said the merger of Vistara and Air India is an important milestone in the journey to make Air India a truly world-class airline.
"As part of the transformation, Air India is focusing on growing both its network and fleet, revamping its customer proposition, enhancing safety, reliability and on-time performance. We are excited with the opportunity of creating a strong Air India which would offer both full-service and low-cost service across domestic and international routes," he said.
Four airlines are part of the Tata group. They are Air India, Air India Express, AirAsia India and Vistara. Tata group acquired Air India and Air India Express in January this year.
Vistara started flying in January 2015. AirAsia India was launched in 2014, while Air India Express began operations back in 2005.
In October, Vistara was the second largest carrier with a domestic market share of 9.2 per cent behind IndiGo, which had a market share of 56.7 per cent.
During the same period, the domestic market share of Air India and AirAsia India stood at 9.2 per cent and 7.6 per cent, respectively.
In terms of On-Time Performance (OTP), Air India was on top at 90.8 per cent, followed by Vistara and AirAsia India, both at 89.1 per cent.
On October 13, SIA said it was in "confidential discussions" with Tata group to explore the possible merger of Vistara and Air India.
"The discussions seek to deepen the existing partnership between SIA and Tata, and may include a potential integration of Vistara and Air India," it had said in a filing to the Singapore Stock Exchange.
SIA Chief Executive Officer Goh Choon Phong said that with this merger, SIA has an opportunity to deepen its relationship with Tata and participate directly in an exciting new growth phase in India's aviation market. &nbsp;"We will work together to support Air India's transformation, unlock its significant potential, and restore it to its position as a leading airline on the global stage," he added.

With the announcement about Tata-Airbus C-295 transport aircraft project coming up in Gujarat, former Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray on Thursday slammed the Eknath Shinde-led government and asked it why the project that was supposed to come up in Maharashtra went to the neighbouring state.
He accused the Shinde government of not being serious about the state's progress and criticised it for "failing to protect the state's interests".
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra, however, countered him saying that the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government did not do anything to follow up on the proposed project.
A consortium of Airbus and the Tata group will manufacture C-295 transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Vadodara in Gujarat, the Defence ministry said on Thursday, announcing the Rs 22,000 crore project where a military plane will be produced in India for the first time by a private company. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday lay the foundation stone for the manufacturing facility of the European defence major and the Indian conglomerate, in what is billed as a major boost to the domestic aerospace sector.
In September this year, CM Shinde's loyalist Uday Samant, who is currently the Industries Minister, had said that the Tata-Airbus aircraft manufacturing project would come up near Nagpur in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
Speaking to reporters here in Shirur tehsil in Pune district, Thackeray asked, "Will the state government give answers to why these projects are going out? This is the fourth project which has gone away from Maharashtra since the traitor government has come to power in the state. They always boast that they have a double-engine government, but although one engine of the central government is working, the state government's engine has failed." Thackeray was in Shirur to inspect the losses that farmers have suffered due to heavy rains.
He added that the previous MVA government led by his father Uddhav Thackeray had managed to bring investment to the state even during the pandemic, but this government has failed to do so.
"CM Shinde goes to Delhi on a regular basis. But he goes there for himself and not for Maharashtra. I never heard him saying that the Tata-Airbus project should come to Maharashtra. Projects including Vedanta Foxconn, Bulk Drug Park, Medical Device Park, and now Tata Airbus have gone to Gujarat," he alleged.
He said he was not sad because the project was going to some other state. "The question is why is it not coming to our state. Why this new government is not able to bring projects to the state? In the last few days, CMs from other states are coming to Maharashtra and interacting with the local industrialists here to seek investments, but our CM goes to Delhi, and he does so for himself," he said.
The Worli MLA said that big and small projects used to come to Maharashtra because of merit. "But today, despite having the merit, these projects are going to the other state," he said.
Due to the current state government, Maharashtra has lost one more project. The state government is not at all serious about Maharashtra's progress, Thackeray alleged.
He also asked the state government to immediately announce a wet drought in the state and provide help to farmers.
He visited farmers in Malthan village area in Shirur tehsil and inspected the crops that suffered due to the heavy rains.
"We have given a slogan - 'Give or leave', which means the state government should either provide help to farmers or step down," he said.
Countering his allegations, BJP legislator Praveen Darekar said, "The deal (for Tata-Airbus project) was inked a year back, and one should find out who was in power at that time. The previous government did not do anything on it, including no correspondence with the Union government to facilitate this project in the state. The opposition should not make such baseless allegations." Maharashtra BJP chief spokesperson Keshav Upadhye said, "PM Modi made an announcement of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat', which was followed by the Airbus Defence and Space S.A. Spain entering into an agreement to supply 56 C-295 MW transport aircraft and it was approved by cabinet committee on security." On September 24 last year, the defence ministry also signed a contract with the Airbus Defence and Space S.A. for acquisition of aircraft with associated equipment, he claimed.
"Despite so much development, the then MVA government did not send a single letter to the Centre. That government did not even follow up the issue with the Union government. The MVA leaders should avoid diverting the attention despite being aware of the facts," Upadhye said.
"I challenge them to release a letter they had addressed to Tata-Airbus in the past," he said.
Last month, a blame-game had erupted in Maharashtra following the announcement that a joint venture semiconductor project of the Indian conglomerate Vedanta and Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn, proposed to be set up near Pune city earlier, would come up in Gujarat.
The Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of the Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress, all constituents of the MVA, have sought to corner the Shinde-BJP government over the Rs 1.54 lakh crore plant going to Gujarat.

Addressing a 'Bijaya Samillani' or post-Durga Puja meeting in Siliguri, Banerjee said she only returned the land to the people that was forcibly acquired by the former Left Front government for the Tata Motors' Nano factory in Singur in Hooghly district.
"There are people who are spreading canards that have driven away the Tatas from West Bengal. I did not force them away, but it was the CPI(M) which drove them away," she said at the government function, adding that she thought of not making any political statement at the programme.
"You (CPI(M)) forcibly took land from the people for the project, we returned that land to the people. We have done so many projects, but never taken any land forcibly from anybody. Why should we take land forcibly? There is no dearth of land here," she added.
The CPI(M) termed Banerjee's statement a "big lie", pointing out that her dharna on the national highway outside the factory forced the Tatas to shift the project from West Bengal, which could have created thousands of jobs.

The agitation, however, fuelled Banerjee's rise to power in the state as she routed the Left Front government of 34 years in 2011.
The then CPI(M)-led Left Front government had acquired around 1,000 acres of farmland for the project, which was taken back from the Tatas following a court order after Banerjee became the chief minister. Her government partly returned the land to its owners.
"There is no discrimination in West Bengal. We want each and every industrialist to invest here," she said, referring to the Tajpur port project of the Adani group and the Deucha-Pachami coal mine project.
In an apparent reference to the ongoing agitation for school jobs in Kolkata, the chief minister said her government would continue providing jobs to the people though there were forces who create hindrances.
"I want massive employment opportunities to be generated here. There are forces that do not want people to get jobs. They are causing hindrances for them. We will not stop employing people. We will employ them regularly and not take away jobs," Banerjee said.
CPI(M) central committee leader Sujan Chakraborty said Banerjee should be given a "doctorate for lying".
"Yes, it was not Mamata Banerjee but Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee who was on dharna at Singur," he said in a sarcastic tone.
"In Mamata Banerjee's rule, West Bengal is witnessing such a tsunami of development that people are leaving for other states in search of work. Rather than lying, she should lower her head in shame that there are no jobs in the state," Chakraborty said.
The BJP also hit out at Banerjee over her statement, stating that Tata's decision to move the project out of Singur deprived lakhs of people of jobs.
"Everyone knows that Mamata Banerjee's violent agitation had forced Tata Motors to scrap its project. It deprived lakhs of educated and skilled youths of jobs, and forced them to go outside the state," Hooghly's BJP MP Locket Chatterjee said.
She said that the chief minister promised the farmers that the land would be restored to its original condition when handed back to them but in reality, nothing could be grown on that soil.
"Singur continue to be economically backward while Sanand in Gujarat where the project went became an automobile hub," she said.
Banerjee also said that the state government would consider organising an investors' meet in north Bengal on the lines of Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), which is held in Kolkata.

Tata Power on Friday said that a cyber attack has hit its Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and affected its systems.
Tata Power Company Limited had a cyber attack on its IT infrastructure impacting some of its IT systems, a BSE filing said.
The company has taken steps to retrieve and restore the systems, it informed.
All critical operational systems are functioning; however, as a measure of abundant precaution, restricted access and preventive checks have been put in place for employee and customer facing portals and touch points, it added.

According to a news report, possible integration of Vistara and Air India is being discussed in this conversation.

Singapore Airlines in a statement said that discussions with Tatas are ongoing and no definitive terms have been agreed upon between the parties.&nbsp;
According to reports, Tatas has a 51 per cent stake in Vistara and the rest is with Singapore Airlines (SIA). Tatas are also the owner of Air India and can invite another airline to buy a stake in the former national carrier, provided they hold a majority 51 per cent share.
The merger, which could take a year to complete, is part of a bigger consolidation drive by Tata Sons to save costs, create synergies by optimising aircraft utilisation and routes and increase market share to compete with IndiGo, India&rsquo;s largest airline with a market share of 59 per cent.

The company's domestic sales increased three folds to 74,755 units from 24,552 units in May 2021, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Total passenger vehicle dispatches to dealers more than doubled to 43,341 units as against 15,181 units in the year-ago month.
Similarly, domestic commercial vehicle sales surged to 31,414 units last month against 9,371 units in the same period last year.
This is the company's highest ever monthly sales since inception – PV and EV domestic combined - led by robust dispatch of Nexon, Harrier and Safari.
The automajor also reported the highest ever dispatches of electric vehicles last month at 3,454 units, up from 476 units in the same period last year.
