Tejas Mark 1A is an indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured fighter aircraft with more than 65 per cent indigenous components.

India's indigenous fight aircraft Tejas Mark 1A successfully completed its maiden flight in Bengaluru on Thursday.&nbsp; The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited said that the flight was airborne for 15 minutes.
"First flight of the Made in India indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft has been completed in Bengaluru by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited today," HAL said, according to ANI news agency.
"The aircraft was airborne for 15 minutes during its first flight," it added.
Tejas Mark 1A is an indigenously designed, developed, and manufactured fighter aircraft with more than 65 per cent indigenous components. It is the advanced variant of LCA Mark 1, which has currently been inducted by the Indian Air Force.&nbsp;
According to an India Today report, the fighter aircraft is likely to be deployed at Nal airbase in Rajasthan&rsquo;s Bikaner near the Pakistan border. The first squadron of aircraft is planned to be deployed at the Nal airbase from where it can take care of the western adversary.
A Times of India report stated that the Mk-1A will come with digital radar warning receivers, a superior AESA (active electronically scanned array) radar, advanced beyond-visual-range (BVR) air-to-air missiles and external self-protection jammer pods, among other improvements.
The HAL is expected to begin delivery of 83 Tejas Mk-1A in the March 2024-Feb 2028 timeframe. The IAF had signed a contract worth over Rs 48,000 crore with the HAL for supplying 83 LCA planes. The IAF has clearance to buy 97 more LCA Mark 1A fighter jets at Rs 65,000 crore.&nbsp;
The IAF already has two Tejas squadrons, the &lsquo;Flying Daggers&rsquo; and &lsquo;Flying Bullets&rsquo;, one of which is now deployed in the southwestern sector facing Pakistan.

Kangana Ranaut starrer &lsquo;Tejas&rsquo; was released in cinemas on October 27 and it received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience.
The action thriller film has failed to leave a mark at the box office and its lifetime collections are likely to be less than Rs 10 crores.
Recently, several exhibitors from across the country opened up about &lsquo;Tejas&rsquo; debacle and shared that they cancelled 50 percent of their shows because of low occupancy.
Manoj Desai, the owner of Mumbai&rsquo;s iconic Gaiety Galaxy, called the response to Kangana Ranaut starrer &lsquo;worse&rsquo;.
He told Bollywood Hungama, &lsquo;On Sunday, we managed to get 100 viewers.
For the rest of the shows, the number of moviegoers was less than 100.&rsquo;
Desai added that even though he has decided to continue playing &lsquo;Tejas&rsquo; on the weekdays in Gaiety, the film will not be played in the smaller audis.
&lsquo;The occupancy was bad even on a Sunday. There are hardly 10-12 people in each show. From Monday, more than 50% of shows are discontinued,&rsquo; another exhibitor told the entertainment portal.
Vikrant Massey&rsquo;s &lsquo;12th Fail&rsquo;, which was released on the same day, is doing better business.
&lsquo;Tejas&rsquo; marks Kangana Ranaut&rsquo;s fifth flop in a row after &lsquo;Dhaakad&rsquo; (2022), &lsquo;Thalaivii&rsquo; (2021), &lsquo;Panga&rsquo; (2020) and &lsquo;Judgementall Hai Kya&rsquo; (2019).
Kangana&rsquo;s recently released &lsquo;Chandramukhi 2&rsquo; earned nearly Rs 40 crore.

The film struggled with a meager 6.83 percent occupancy, reflecting the audience's limited interest in the movie.
"Tejas" narrates the remarkable journey of Tejas Gill, an Air Force pilot, aiming to instill pride in every Indian by showcasing the dedication and challenges faced by Indian Air Force pilots in defending the nation.
In the film, Kangana Ranaut's character embarks on a mission to rescue hostages from terrorists, adding intensity to the plot.

'Tejas' revolves around the remarkable journey of Tejas Gill, an Indian Air Force pilot. It portrays the dedication and challenges faced by IAF pilots. 'Tejas' is written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. 
Kangana Ranaut, who plays the protagonist, underwent extensive training for four months to master the special combat techniques used in the Indian forces. It is for the time that she will be playing a soldier on the silver screen.

In December 2021, production house RSVP Movies had announced that Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Tejas’ will release in theatres on October 5, 2022, coinciding the festival of Dussehra. However, now it is being reported that the film’s release might get postponed.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, ‘Tejas was to release in October. However, since the film is very VFX there is still quite a bit of work pending. However, the work pending isn’t much yet it will still take a while. So to avoid doing a rushed job on the film, it was decided to defer the release date.’
The source added that the film will now release in December later this year or in January 2023. An official statement from the makers of the film is still awaited.

The first batch of five Rafale fighter jets will be formally inducted into the Indian Air Force on Thursday at the&nbsp;air base&nbsp;in Ambala. The induction&nbsp;comes at the crucial time when India is engaged in an escalating border row with China in eastern Ladakh.&nbsp;A number of dignitaries including defence minister Rajnath Singh, his French counterpart Florence Parly, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria&nbsp;will attend the ceremony.&nbsp;The first batch of five Rafale jets arrived in India on July 29. These jets&nbsp;are known for air-superiority and precision strikes.

New Delhi, PTI: The first batch of five Rafale fighter jets will be formally inducted into the Indian Air Force on Thursday at the&nbsp;air base&nbsp;in Ambala,&nbsp;at a time India is engaged in an escalating border row with China in eastern Ladakh.
A galaxy of dignitaries including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, his French counterpart Florence Parly, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria and Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar will attend the ceremony.
"The program will include ceremonial unveiling of the Rafale aircraft, a traditional 'Sarva Dharma Puja', air display by Rafale and Tejas aircraft as well as by 'Sarang aerobatic team'," an IAF spokesperson said, describing the ceremony as a "very important milestone" in the history of the force.
The Rafale jets, produced by French aerospace major Dassault Aviation, are known for air-superiority and precision strikes.
IAF Spokesperson Wing Commander Indranil Nandi said a traditional water cannon salute will be given to the Rafale fleet before its ceremonial induction into the 17 squadron of the force.
The first batch of five Rafale jets arrived in India on July 29, nearly four years after India signed an inter-governmental agreement with France to procure 36 of the aircraft at a cost of Rs 59,000 crore.
The French delegation at the ceremony will include French envoy Emmanuel Lenain, Air Gen Eric Autellet, Vice Chief of French Air Force, Chairman and Chief Executive of Dassault Aviation Eric Trappier and CEO of missile maker MBDA Eric Beranger.
After the ceremony, Parly and Singh will hold talks in Ambala on ways to further deepen bilateral defence and security cooperation after the ceremony, they said.
Ten Rafale jets have been delivered to India so far and five of them stayed back in France for imparting training to IAF pilots. The delivery of all 36 aircraft is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021. A second batch of four to five Rafale jets are likely to arrive in India by November. Sources said a preliminary discussion on a possible procurement of another batch of 36 Rafale jets by India from France may figure in the talks between Singh and Parly.
