Former cricketer and Congress candidate Mohammad Azharuddin cast his vote in Hyderabad.

Telugu actor-turned-politician Vijayashanti returned to the Congress party after announcing her resignation from the BJP on Saturday.

She has been appointed as chief election coordinator for the November 30 state elections. &nbsp;
Vijayshanti, was a big star in South Indian cinema when she started her political career with the BJP in 1997.
She quit the party and joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) during its fight for a separate Telangana.
She was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2009.
Later she joined the Congress party in 2014.

BRS leader KT Rama Rao on November 8 said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biggest asset.
Speaking to India Today, the BRS working president said that if Congress can defeat BJP, they should do it in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat but not obstruct BRS, the one party that is capable of defeating the saffron party in Telangana.
Rao further said that Modi and Gandhi would not like to see any third person emerge in the country.
"Rahul alleges every other party is a B-team for the BJP. He should work on his own weaknesses," said Rao.
The state will go to polls on November 30. The counting of votes will take place on December 3.

An interesting election battle is in place in the Jubilee Hills Assembly segment in Hyderabad. The Congress has deputed former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin to take the sitting BRS lawmaker M Gopinath head-on.
For Azhar Hyderabad is the home ground but when it comes to elections, the city is a foreign pitch. That is why accompanied by followers, he started his poll campaign and is undertaking padayatras, besides a door-to-door campaign.
But it is not a two-side contest for Azhar, the Assaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM has also put up a candidate. Analysts think this a cover fire for Gopinath as there are chances that its candidate Mohammad Rashed Farazuddin may split the votes to Azhar&rsquo;s disadvantage.
An undeterred Azhar told PTI that the people of Jubilee Hills are solidly behind him and they want him Insha Allah.
"We are fighting our own election. We are not really worried about who is doing what. I am fighting my own election. It is important for me and I know the people of Jubilee Hills are solidly behind me. They all want me Insha Allah," Azhar said.

A total of over Rs 145.3 crore in cash, 251.9 kg gold, and 1080.2 kg silver was seized

&nbsp;Law enforcement agencies have seized cash, gold, liquor and freebies worth over Rs 412 crore as on Tuesday in poll-bound Telangana after the model code of conduct came into force in the state on October 9.
A total of over Rs 145.3 crore in cash, 251.9 kg gold, 1080.2 kg silver, and other valuables, all worth over Rs 165 crore, besides liquor worth over Rs 39.8 crore, ganja valued at Rs 22.31 crore and other items/freebies worth Rs 39.98 crore have been seized, according to a statement issued by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
Since October 9, when the schedule for the Telangana Assembly elections was announced, till October 31, the total cumulative seizure by law enforcement agencies is valued at over Rs 412.46 crore, it said.
The state goes to polls on November 30.
