Meanwhile, Vijay is celebrating the success of his recent release, The Greatest of All Time, which has been lauded as one of his best performances and has earned over 100 crore in Tamil Nadu.
&lsquo;The Greatest of All Time&rsquo;, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has performed well at the Tamil Nadu box office, grossing Rs 178 crore domestically. On Friday alone, it collected over Rs 6.5 crore. The film saw a Tamil occupancy rate of 33.07% on its ninth day, with morning shows at 17.24% and night shows reaching 49.89%, reflecting growing audience interest.
However, the Hindi and Telugu versions have underperformed, earning Rs 11.3 crore and Rs 10.3 crore, respectively.
Meanwhile, Vijay has launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), and is planning its first state conference, which has been postponed from September 23 to October.

An earthquake of 6.5 magnitude jolted Afghanistan on Tuesday and tremors were also felt across some parts of north India which include Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi. Soon after, the team of &lsquo;Leo&rsquo; took to Twitter to confirm that everyone is safe. Seven Screen Studios, makers of &lsquo;Leo&rsquo;, shared a Vadivelu GIF from the Tamil film &lsquo;Chandramukhi&rsquo; and wrote, &lsquo;We are safe nanba! - Team #LEO (sic).&rsquo;
&lsquo;Leo&rsquo; marks the reunion of Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj after &lsquo;Master&rsquo;. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun, and Priya Anand. This film marks Sanjay Dutt&rsquo;s Tamil debut, who will be playing the prime antagonist.
The Kashmir schedule of &lsquo;Leo&rsquo; will reportedly be complete by April and then the team will return to Chennai for a short break. The next schedule will be in Hyderabad where a massive airport set is being erected.

The Vijay starrer is tentatively titled '<a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/sanjay-dutt-comes-onboard-thalapathy-67-says-he-gave-his-nod-after-hearing-the-one-line-story-1675182650992">Thalapathy 67</a>'. The original title will be unveiled on February 3.
'Thalapathy 67' marks the second collaboration between Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj after their 2021 blockbuster 'Master'. Trisha Krishnan will be seen as the female lead of the film. The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Mathew Thomas, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun Sarja, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand and Sandy.

They have directed the makers to submit a detailed explanation seeking reasons behind the violations of the law within seven days failing which AWBI will &lsquo;take any or all such action as it may deem to consider proper and necessary for the welfare of the animals.
The statement of the board reads, 'The Board has received a complaint regarding illegal shooting of animals by M/s Venkateswara Creations using Elephants-5 without the pre-shoot permission from the Animal Welfare Board of India in Tamil Film &ldquo;Varisu&rdquo;, which is the violation of Performing Animals (Registration) Rules, 2001 (as amended in 2002). The Board has not received the Pre-shoot application from you for Tamil Film &ldquo;Varisu&rdquo; till date'
The makers of the film are yet to respond to this legal notice.
Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, 'Varisu' is scheduled for the 2023 Pongal release. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna.

Thalapathy Vijay has been fined ₹1 lakh by the Madras High Court for seeking exemption of tax on his imported Rolls-Royce Ghost worth ₹7.95 crore.
Justice SM Subramaniam dismissed Vijay's petition and asked him to deposit the money to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister&rsquo;s Covid-19 Relief Fund within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
The judge also said that the actor has been portrayed as a champion of social justice in films against corruption but failed to pay entry tax.
He further added that payment of tax is the duty of every citizen and is a mandatory contribution rather than a donation.
