But there are a variety of things that you should keep in mind if you are new to trekking, to enjoy your first experience and make it memorable. Here are some things that you should know about. &nbsp;

Pack light&nbsp;
Avoid going overboard while packing for a trekking trip. Keep only the essentials such as a water bottle, energy bars, map, torch, first aid kit, etc., in your bag.
Dress right&nbsp;
Don&rsquo;t opt for uncomfortable clothing such as jeans or anything too fancy. Instead wear comfortable clothing such as track pants and a t-shirt and layer your outfit to protect yourself from the fluctuating temperatures. &nbsp;
Prep your body&nbsp;
Since you are new to trekking, make your body used to the exertion. Start by walking daily at a fast pace to prepare your body for the trek.

Don&rsquo;t trek alone&nbsp;
Trekking alone isn&rsquo;t the wisest decision, especially when it&rsquo;s your first time. Go for a guided trek or join a trek group.&nbsp;

3 hikers lost their lives on Saturday after heavy snowfall in Kinnaur district of Himachal&nbsp;Pradesh. The deceased were part of a 13 person trekking group that was hiking from Shimla&nbsp;to Kinnaur.&nbsp;
Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel managed to rescue 10 men who were stuck at Buran Pass in Kinnaur&nbsp;-&nbsp;4,696 metres above sea level.&nbsp;Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur, Apoorv Devgn said that the bodies of the three deceased hikers were buried under four feet of snow.
Nine of the 10 hikers were from Mumbai and one was from New Delhi.
