Turkey said Thursday it was suspending all trade with Israel until it allows aid to enter Gaza unhindered during its offensive against Hamas militants in the territory.
"Exports and imports to and from Israel have been suspended," the trade ministry said in a statement, adding: "Turkey will apply these new measures... until the Israeli government authorises an uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza."
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz had earlier on Thursday accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of breaking agreements between the two countries by blocking Israeli exports and imports.
The move is the latest incident degrading relations after Turkey, one of the few Muslim-majority nations to recognise Israel, restricted exports to the country in April.
The Gaza Strip is suffering a humanitarian crisis caused by Israel's war against Hamas that has been raging since October 7, with the United Nations and aid agencies warning of impending famine.
The war started with Hamas's unprecedented October 7 attack on Israel that resulted in the deaths of 1,170 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally of Israeli official figures.
Israel estimates that 129 captives seized by militants during their attack remain in Gaza. The military says 34 of them are dead.
Israel's retaliatory offensive against Hamas has killed at least 34,596 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-run territory's health ministry.

Partial results from across the nation of 85 million people showed major advances for the Republican People's Party (CHP) at the expense of Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AKP).
Istanbul's mayor, the opposition's Ekrem Imamoglu, claimed re-election with nearly all ballot boxes opened, telling a euphoric crowd of supporters: "Tomorrow is a new spring day for our country."
Final results are expected to be released on Monday by the country's electoral commission.
Erdogan, 70, had launched an all-out personal campaign to win back Istanbul, the economic powerhouse where he was once mayor. Rampant inflation and an economic crisis have, however, hit confidence in the ruling party.
Large crowds filled the square outside the opposition party's Istanbul city headquarters waving Turkish flags and lighting torches to celebrate the result.
After casting his vote, Imamoglu emerged to applause and chants of "Everything will be fine", the slogan he used when he first took the city hall from the AKP in 2019.
The 52-year-old is increasingly seen as the biggest rival to Erdogan's AKP ahead of the next presidential election in 2028.
In Ankara, mayor Mansur Yavas -- also of the CHP -- claimed victory in front of large crowds of supporters, declaring "the elections are over, we will continue to serve Ankara".
"Those who have been ignored have sent a clear message to those who rule this country," he added.
Yavas led with 58.6 percent of the vote to 33.5 percent for his AKP opponent, with 46.4 percent of ballot boxes opened.
Opposition supporters celebrated victory in Izmir, Turkey's third-largest city, as well as in the southern city of Antalya.
Some AKP stronghold towns were at risk of being lost, results indicated.
"Voters have chosen to change the face of Turkey," said CHP chairman Ozgur Ozel as the results emerged.
"They want to open the door to a new political climate in our country."
<h3>'Respect the decision'</h3>
Erdogan acknowledged the electoral setback in a speech to supporters at the headquarters of his party.
"Unfortunately, we have not obtained the results that we wanted," he told a subdued crowd.
"We will of course respect the decision of the nation. We will avoid being stubborn, acting against the national will and questioning the power of the nation," he added.
Erdogan has been president since 2014 and won a new term in May last year. He had called Istanbul the national "treasure" when launching his campaign to retake the city.
But while he dominated the campaign, his personal role did not help overcome the widespread concerns over the country's economy.

Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc said late Sunday that Jehezkel, a 28-year-old Israeli international, is under investigation over possible charges of &ldquo;openly inciting the public to hatred and hostility.&rdquo; Tunc maintained in a statement posted on X that Jehezkel had engaged in &ldquo;an ugly gesture in support of the Israeli massacre in Gaza.&rdquo; The gesture was deemed to be provocative in Turkey where there is widespread public opposition to Israel's military actions in Gaza and overwhelming support for the Palestinians.
Antalyaspor suspended Jehezkel from the team and announced that it was speaking to the club's lawyers about the possibility of terminating his contract.
During his questioning by police, the player denied accusations that he engaged in a provocative act, the private DHA news agency reported.
&ldquo;I am not pro-war,&rdquo; DHA quoted him as telling police. &ldquo;I want this 100-day process to come to an end. I want the war to end.&rdquo; Jehezkel continued: &ldquo;I have never engaged in anything related to politics since my arrival. I have never disrespected anyone since the day I arrived. The point I wanted to draw attention to was (the need) for an end of the war.&rdquo; The Turkish Football Federation condemned what it said was a gesture that &ldquo;disturbed the conscience&rdquo; of the Turkish public.
Jehezkel's detention, meanwhile, sparked outrage in Israel.
&ldquo;Shame on you, Turkish government,&rdquo; Israeli former Prime Minister Naftali Bennet wrote on X.

Turkish authorities arrested the president of top-flight football club MKE Ankaragucu after he punched Meler, prompting the Turkish Football Federation to suspend all league games. The head of the Turkish Football Federation, however, subsequently confirmed that matches will resume on December 19.
Faruk Koca attacked the referee on the pitch late Monday after the final whistle, following a 1-1 draw in a Super Lig game against Caykur Rizespor.

The club president also blamed the incident on Meler, whom he accused of &ldquo;wrongful decisions&rdquo; and provocative acts, the station reported, citing unnamed judicial officials.
Soon after his arrest, Koca resigned as Ankaragucu president, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

Ankara announced its decision on the eve of what promises to be a difficult visit to Turkey by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Palestinian ally Turkey had been gradually mending its torn relations with Israel until last month's start of the Israel-Hamas war.
But it began to harden its tone against both Israel and its Western supporters -- particularly the United States -- as the fighting escalated and the death count among Palestinian civilians grew.
The Turkish foreign ministry foreign said ambassador Sakir Ozkan Torunlar was being recalled for consultations "in view of the unfolding humanitarian tragedy in Gaza caused by the continuing attacks by Israel against civilians, and Israel's refusal (to accept) a ceasefire".
Israeli forces have encircled Gaza's largest city, trying to crush Hamas in retaliation for October 7 raids into Israel that officials say killed around 1,400 people -- mostly civilians -- and took some 240 people hostage.
The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says nearly 9,500 people -- mostly women and children -- have since been killed in Israeli strikes and the intensifying ground campaign.

"Ibrahim Kalin is talking to the Israeli side. Of course, he is also negotiating with Palestine and Hamas," Erdogan said.
But he said Netanyahu bore the primary responsibility for the violence and had "lost the support of his own citizens".
"What he needs to do is take a step back and stop this," Erdogan said.
The Turkish leader had taken a more cautious tone in the first days of the war.
But he led a massive rally in Istanbul last weekend during which he accused the Israel government of behaving like a "war criminal" and trying to "eradicate" Palestinians.
Blinken will begin a two-day visit to Ankara on Sunday as part of his Middle East tour.
The top US diplomat was meeting with Arab counterparts in the Jordanian capital Amman on Saturday after visiting Israel the day before.
But he left Israel empty-handed on Friday after urging its leaders to do more to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip during Israel's war to destroy Hamas.

A suicide bomber detonated an explosive device in the heart of the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Sunday, while a second assailant was killed in a shootout with police, the interior minister said.
The attack occurred hours before Parliament was set to reopen after its three-month summer recess with an address by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Two police officers were slightly injured during the attack near an entrance to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. The attack was conducted by assailants who arrived at the scene inside a light commercial vehicle, he said.
&ldquo;Our heroic police officers, through their intuition, resisted the terrorists as soon as they got out of the vehicle,&rdquo; Yerlikaya later told reporters. &ldquo;One of them blew himself up while the other one was shot in the head before he had a chance to blow himself up.&rdquo; &ldquo;Our fight against terrorism, their collaborators, the (drug) dealers, gangs and organised crime organisations will continue with determination,&rdquo; he said.
The minister did not say who was behind the attack and there was no immediate claim of responsibility. Kurdish and far-left militant groups as well as the Islamic State group have carried out deadly attacks throughout the country in the past.
In his speech in parliament, Erdogan called the attack &ldquo;the last stand of terrorism.&rdquo; &ldquo;The scoundrels who targeted the peace and security of the citizens could not achieve their goals and they never will," he said.
The president reiterated his government's aim to create a 30-kilometer (20 mile) safe zone along its border with Syria to secure its southern border from attacks.
Turkiye has launched several incursions into northern Syria since 2016 to drive away the Islamic State group and a Kurdish militia group, known by the initials YPG, from the frontier, and controls swaths of territory in the area.
Turkiye views the YPG as an extension of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, which is listed as a terror group by Turkiye, the United States and the European Union. The PKK has waged an insurgency against Turkiye since 1984. Tens of thousands of people have died in the conflict.
Last year, a bomb blast in a bustling pedestrian street in Istanbul left six people dead, including two children. More than 80 others were wounded. Turkiye blamed the attack on the PKK and the YPG.

The State-run Anadolu Agency reported that the two attackers on Sunday had seized the vehicle in the central province of Kayseri from a veterinarian. The pro-government daily Sabah reported that they shot the man in the head and threw his body into a ditch by the side of the road. They then drove the vehicle to Ankara, roughly 300 kilometers (200 miles) away.
Security camera footage on Sunday showed the vehicle stopping in front of the ministry, with a man exiting it and rushing toward the entrance of the building before blowing himself up. A second man is seen following him.
Earlier, television footage showed bomb squads working near a vehicle in the area, which is located near the Turkish Grand National Assembly and other government buildings. A rocket launcher could be seen lying near the vehicle.
Turkish authorities later imposed a temporary blackout on images from the scene.
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc said an investigation has been launched into the &ldquo;terror attack&rdquo;.
&ldquo;These attacks will in no way hinder Turkiye's fight against terrorism,&rdquo; he wrote on X. &ldquo;Our fight against terrorism will continue with more determination.&rdquo; Police cordoned off access to the city centre and increased security measures, warning citizens that they would be conducting controlled explosions of suspicious packages.
The two police officers were being treated in a hospital and were not in serious condition, Yerlikaya said.
Egypt, which has normalized ties with Turkiye after a decade of tensions, condemned the attack. A terse statement from the Foreign Ministry offered Egypt's solidarity with Turkiye.
The US Embassy in Ankara and other foreign missions also issued messages condemning the attack.
Erdogan in his speech did not provide any indication as to when Turkiye's parliament may ratify Sweden's membership in NATO.
Stockholm applied for NATO membership alongside Finland following Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year. While Finland has since joined, Turkiye blocked Sweden's membership in the military alliance, accusing it of not doing enough to tackle groups like PKK from operating on its soil.
In a posting on X, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said Stockholm &ldquo;strongly condemns today's terrorist attack in Ankara. We reaffirm our commitment to long-term cooperation with Turkiye in combatting terrorism and wish for quick and full recovery of the ones injured&rdquo;.

An explosion was heard Sunday in the Turkish capital Ankara, close to parliament which was due to open its new session later in the day, an AFP correspondent reported.
The Turkish interior ministry has termed the blast in the capital as a 'terrorist attack'.
"Two terrorists arrived in a light military vehicle at around 9:30 am (0630 GMT), in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security of our Ministry of the Interior, and carried out a bomb attack," the ministry said.
Turkish media reported that gunfire was also heard in the area, with emergency services rushing to the scene.

With the recent calamity in Turkey and Syria highlighting the humongous threat posed by earthquakes, it has come to light that a district in India has experienced almost 400 earthquakes over the last 2 years.
Amreli district in Gujarat has been the epicentre of an 'earthquake swarm', which refers to a sequence of mostly small tremors which can continue for days, weeks, and even months. Between 23 and 25 February, some areas in Amreli recorded 4 quakes with magnitudes ranging from 3.1 to 3.4.
Residents of the Mitiyala village in the district have started sleeping outside their houses due to the frequent temblors, as per news agency PTI.
In 2001, a massive earthquake in Gujarat's Kutch had killed 13,800 people and injured 1.67 lakh.
Asked about the recent seismic activity in Amreli, Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research's (ISR) officiating Director General Sumer Chopra told PTI that this is an "earthquake swarm" event in which small tremors keep on recurring. This is mostly seasonal.

"In the last two years and two months, we recorded 400 mild tremors in Amreli, out of which 86 per cent were below the intensity of 2, while 13 per cent were between the intensity of 2 and 3 and only in five events, it went above 3 magnitude,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;Most of these mild tremors are not even felt by the people. Just our machine records them,&rdquo; he said.
With a caveat that &ldquo;earthquakes cannot be predicted&rdquo;, Chopra said the possibility of a major earthquake is low when the 'earthquake swarm' is taking place.

The epicentre of the tremor was the Yesilyurt district in the Malatya province, which was hit by the February 6 earthquake that killed over 44,000 people in Turkey and thousands more in neighbouring Syria.
"After the 5.6 magnitude earthquake... it was found as a result of the field scanning studies that there were destroyed buildings," AFAD disaster agency tweeted.
"Our search and rescue teams were quickly dispatched to the region, and started to work," it added.
The local mayor, Mehmet Cinar, said he guided teams urgently to check whether there was anyone trapped under rubble.
"God willing, there's no loss of life," Cinar told Haber Turk television.

Turkey's media watchdog fined three broadcasters on Wednesday for their coverage of the earthquake that rocked the country's south, killing more than 42,000 people, an opposition-nominated member of the watchdog said.
Halk TV, Tele 1 and FOX were all handed fines, calculated based on their revenues for the month preceding the infractions, for reporting shortcomings in the government's earthquake response.
The three channels are known for editorial lines critical of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Halk TV is strongly aligned with the CHP party, Turkey's main opposition.
Halk TV and Tele 1 were fined five percent of their January revenues, Ilhan Tasci, a member of the Radio and Television Supreme Council watchdog's board who was nominated by opposition parties, wrote on Twitter.
They were also ordered to suspend one of their daily programmes for five days.
Halk TV and FOX TV were also fined three percent of their January turnover for separate infractions, he added.
"All these penalties were based on comments and news after the earthquake," he wrote.
"We live in a time when reporting is considered a crime."
The head of Turkey's Journalists' Association, Nazmi Bilgin, called the decisions a "crime" against viewers, and described the watchdog as a "censorship board".
"With these penalties, the criminal members of (the watchdog), who disregard the right of the public to receive news and the right of the earthquake victims to be informed, commit a great crime," he said.
The editor-in-chief of Tele 1 Merdan Yanardag called the penalties a "complete disgrace".
Many destitute families have lashed out at the government for failing to reach them and save their loved ones from the rubble of the earthquake.

The earthquake, which has killed over 46,000 people has added to the woes of the already flailing economy with massive reconstruction costs.&nbsp;
According to the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation, the quake is expected to cost the country up to $84.1 billion. The Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation said that the costs comprise $70.8 billion to repair homes, $10.4 billion from loss of national income and $2.9 billion from loss of working days.
A financial express report quotes Murat Kubilay, an independent financial advisor on the Turkish economy, who said that the quake will slow the economic activity on the national level and the recovery from it will not happen before 2024
For now, Turkey launched a temporary wage support scheme and banned layoffs in 10 cities to protect workers and businesses from the financial impact of the massive earthquakes that hit the south of the country earlier this month.
According to reports, employers whose workplaces were &ldquo;heavily or moderately damaged&rdquo; would benefit from support to partially cover wages of workers whose hours had been cut, the country&rsquo;s Official Gazette said on Wednesday.&nbsp;

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the Indian assistance and disaster relief teams which were deployed in quake-hit Turkiye and said that in the last few years India has strengthened its identity not just as a self-sufficient but selfless country.
A total of three NDRF teams were sent to the quake-affected country on February 7 following Prime Minister Modi's directive to offer all possible assistance to that country.
The Indian Army's medical team had also been deployed for providing extensive services to a large number of earthquake-hit people.
Addressing the personnel who had returned from quake-hit Turkiye, Modi said, "You have done great service to humanity and made India proud." "We consider the world as one family and see it our duty to quickly help any member in crisis," Modi told the relief teams.
India has strengthened its identity in last few years as a country of self-sufficiency which is also selfless and helps other countries, he said.
He said India is always ready to be the first responder whenever there is a crisis in the world.
"We have to strengthen our identity as the world's best relief and rescue team," he added.
In a tweet, Modi said their efforts in disaster response and relief measures have been commendable.

Earlier in the day, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said the Indian Army's medical team deployed under 'Operation Dost' in Turkiye has touched down in India.
The 99-member self-contained team successfully set up and ran a fully equipped 30-bedded Field Hospital in Iskenderun, Hatay, attending to nearly 4,000 patients round the clock, he said.
"Final NDRF team under #OperationDost returns home from T&uuml;rkiye. 3 Teams of 151 @NDRFHQ personnel &amp; dog squads extended assistance to earthquake affected T&uuml;rkiye," Bagchi had said on Twitter on Sunday.
"Teams executed search, rescue &amp; relief operations including life detection in 35 work sites of Nurda?? &amp; Antakya," he said.

India sent relief materials as well as medical and rescue teams to Turkey following the quake. As part of quake assistance, India also sent relief materials and medicines to Syria.

More than 108,000 people were injured in Turkey in the 7.8 magnitude quake that struck at 4:17 a.m. local time and a magnitude 7.5 quake the first temblor likely triggered nine hours later.&nbsp;
