Oppo&nbsp;Enco Air2 Pro earbuds are the latest to offer active noise cancellation technology in the true wireless form-factor, at an affordable price point.

As a brand, Oppo has a pretty good track record when it comes to TWS earbuds. Their <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/oppo-enco-buds-review-best-tws-for-first-time-buyers-1631613494717" target="_blank">Enco Buds</a> offered solid sound on a budget, and the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/oppo-enco-x-tws-review-best-anc-earbuds-under-10k-1611037539098" target="_blank">Enco X</a> were one of my favourite pairs of ANC earbuds last year. But now, they've launched something new--these are the Enco Air2 Pro, so are they the best next TWS earbuds from Oppo?
<h3>Fit &amp; Comfort</h3>
The Enco Air2 Pro sit fairly shallow in the ears, and didn't seem to go as deep as most in-ear buds. They still provide a good passive seal and drown out a fair bit of ambient noise, even without active noise cancellation.
The default eartips were a little tight in my ears, so I was glad that Oppo includes a couple of different sizes in the box to get a better fit.
For the most part, the earbuds sat quite comfortably in my ears despite long hours of usage, probably because each earbud weighs next to nothing at 4.3g. They also didn't come loose in my ears at any point, even when I used them during a workout.
<h3>Design &amp; Utility</h3>
The Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds are designed quite simply, with long stalks and a round head for the drivers. They also get an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, which is good to see at this price point.
The stalks of the earbuds feature touch controls, that are triggered quite easily with just a tap. You can use them to change the music, control a voice assistant and enable the game mode.
You also get in-ear detection, which pauses playback when you remove an earbud and resumes when you pop it back in.
The charging case for the Enco Air 2 Pros is quite simple, like the earbuds themselves, but there's a translucent top on the lid that looks quite cool. Moreover, the case has been designed in a way that exposes more of the earbuds, making it easier to take them out of the case. The case is also pretty lightweight at just 42.8g, and it features a USB-C port at the back. There's no wireless charging though, which is worth pointing out.
Speaking of notable exclusions, there's also no Google Fast Pair here, but they are compatible with Instant connection to Oppo phones, and show up with this nice animation.

<h3>Sound Quality</h3>
When it comes to sound quality, the Air2 Pro earbuds are quite decent. Thanks to 12.4mm dynamic drivers, they get fairly loud, and the sound signature is pretty balanced. The earbuds aren't bass heavy, and seem to be tuned to a more natural sound profile, with clear mids and balanced highs.
Apart from this though, you can tune the sound profile using presets but I'll explain more of that later when I discuss the partner app for these earbuds.
In terms of codec support, there's only SBC and AAC codecs supported, and no LDAC or Qualcomm's AptX.
<h3>Active Noise Cancellation &amp; Call Quality</h3>
Active noise cancellation on the Enco Air2 Pro is better than I expected. It managed to drown out most ambient noise in an office setting like a noisy air-conditioner and people typing on a keyboard, but sudden, loud noises did make it through.
You can use the touch controls on the earbuds to cycle between active noise cancellation and transparency mode, in case you're in public and want to keep an ear out for announcements or traffic. I will admit though, that the transparency mode here does sound piped in and not as natural as I've heard on a pair of true wireless earbuds.
The Enco Air2 Pro earbuds really impressed me in terms of call quality, and offered good reception on both ends of the call. Thanks to dual-mic AI noise cancellation, everyone I spoke to using the earbuds said they could hear me clearly in moderately noisy environments.

<h3>Gaming &amp; Transmission Lag</h3>
So, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds support low-latency playback for gaming, which can be enabled on Oppo smartphones that run on ColorOS 11.0 and higher, and on other smartphones using the Hey Melody app. Latency goes as low as 94ms, and while playing games like Call of Duty: Mobile, I noticed very little transmission lag. I was very impressed by how in sync everything sounded, but of course, if you're a hard-core mobile gamer, you may want to opt for a wired connection.
Thanks to Bluetooth v5.2, there were no issues in transmission while watching movies and TV shows, and connection quality was strong with no skipping during music playback.
<h3>Battery Life</h3>
When it comes to battery life, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro claim to offer up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge, and up to 28 hours with the charging case. In my usage, I got around 5-6 hours with the active noise cancellation turned on, which is impressive, and Oppo has included support for fast charging, that gets you up to 2 hours' worth of battery life in just ten minutes of charging.
<h3>App Support - Hey Melody App</h3>
In terms of app support, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro aren't ready just yet. I'm reviewing a pre-launch product, which means Oppo hasn't configured its partner Hey Melody app to be compatible with these earbuds just yet. This means that so far, if I've wanted to use more than the default touch controls or tune the sound profile, I've had to use an Oppo phone.
Oppo has said that support for the Enco Air2 Pro will be rolling out to Android devices by the time you see this review, with iOS support also on the way. Currently, you'll have to rely on an Oppo phone running ColorOS 11.0 or higher to modify the touch controls, update the firmware and change equaliser presets.

<h3>Price &amp; Verdict</h3>
Priced at ₹3,499, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds offer most modern features you'd expect, in a nice and simple-looking package. Sound quality is quite well balanced, and the battery life is also good, making these quite well worth the money.

<h3>Fit and Comfort</h3>
Now before we dive into the sound quality and active noise cancellation, let's first address how the Jabra Elite 4 Actives are to wear on a daily basis. They are of course in-ear style buds with silicone eartips, and they sit quite deep in the ear canal and provide a snug fit, which blocks out quite a lot of ambient noise.
If you think the default ear tips don't suit your ears very well, Jabra does provide a couple of different sizes to help get a more comfortable fit.
Now I'm someone that doesn't particularly love the in-ear design, but the Elite 4 Actives are surprisingly comfortable, and I didn't feel much soreness in my ears even after wearing the earbuds for quite a while. I'm guessing this is in part due to how lightweight the earbuds are, weighing only 5g each.
Moreover, the Elite 4 Actives are supposed to be made with a focus on sports and activity, hence the name Active, and I definitely felt the earbuds were always securely lodged in my ears, even while working out.
It's worth noting that unlike the more premium <a href="https://www.editorji.com/tech-news/gadget-review/jabra-elite-7-pro-review-best-earbuds-for-calling-1638784840257" target="_blank">Elite 7 Pro</a> earbuds, you can't take an earbuds fit test on the Elite 4 Actives, which is a shame, but it makes sense considering these are priced significantly lower.
<h3>Sound Quality</h3>
When it comes to sound quality, the Jabra Elite 4 Active earbuds aren't what you'd expect. What I mean by that is that earbuds from Jabra are usually known for having a very neutral sound profile, with more attention to details and clarity rather than punchy, thumping bass. However, with these earbuds, it seems Jabra has flipped the script, probably because they expect people who buy these are going to be using them mainly for working out, and likely want earbuds that offer a more powerful sound signature.
The sound quality is certainly impressive considering the Elite 4 Actives house 6mm drivers, and whether it was at lower volume levels or above 70%, I didn't feel the the earbuds were struggling to perform at any point.
Apart from this though, you can tune the sound profile using presets through the Jabra Sound+ app, and if you really like taking manual control, you can tune the equaliser yourself as well.
In terms of codec support, there's no AAC or LDAC support, but there is support for SBC and Qualcomm's aptX codec, which is good to see.

<h3>Active Noise Cancellation</h3>
So active noise cancellation has become a hot feature in recent times, with even budget earbuds offering ANC at shockingly low prices, but like with other forms of technology, not all ANC is created equal. Some earbuds do it really well and some do it really badly, and I'm happy to report that the Elite 4 Actives fall in the former category.
Like I said before, the earbuds form a good passive seal due to their design, and the addition of active noise cancellation just makes the experience much better. It isn't the strongest ANC I've experienced at this price point, but it still does a very good job of blocking out noisy environments like in an office setting. You can also customise the ANC experience like you can on other Jabra earbuds, using the Jabra Sound+ app, which is a helpful addition.
Along with active noise cancellation, the Elite 4 Actives also get HearThrough, which is Jabra's version of a Transparency Mode. This helps you pause the ANC experience so you can for instance, have a conversation with someone around you or keep an ear out in case you're expecting an announcement.
I must say that HearThrough is one of my favourite implementations of a Transparency Mode on true wireless earbuds, it sounds really natural as compared to other buds I've used at this price point.
<h3>Call Quality</h3>
Now call quality on the Elite 4 Active earbuds is really great, I could both hear people clearly and they heard me just fine as well. This is mostly due to four built-in microphones, that get a mesh covering for better protection against wind noise and other ambient sounds.
Another thing I like is that Jabra enables the Sidetone feature by default when you're on a call, to let in some ambient noise around you so you don't end up shouting, which I think is an excellent feature that more ANC earbuds should offer.
Now unlike the more expensive Elite 7 Pro earbuds, these don't have bone conduction technology or an auto-muting function, but that's to be expected considering the Elite 4 Actives are more affordable.

<h3>Gaming and Transmission Lag</h3>
While playing games like Call of Duty Mobile, I did notice a bit of lag, which is not too surprising, and I do wish Jabra had offered a low latency mode here.
Still, it's worth pointing out that thanks to Bluetooth v5.2, there were no issues in transmission while watching movies and TV shows, and connection quality was strong with no skipping during music playback.
<h3>Design and Utility</h3>
The Jabra Elite 4 Active earbuds are designed for more rough and tough use, as the name suggests, and to that end, they get an IP57 dust and water resistance rating. They're also really compact and lightweight like I mentioned before, and in this Navy colour, the earbuds offer a very understated look. They have the signature triangular shape that most Jabra Elite series earbuds now do, and the materials feel nice to the touch. The outer part of the earbuds feature Jabra's version of touch controls, which aren't really touch controls, but actual buttons that you have to push in to trigger functions. Now I personally don't favour this style of input, mostly because pressing the button pushes the earbuds even deeper into the ear canal, which isn't the most comfortable feeling. However, I must admit that a major problem with touch controls on other earbuds is that you end up triggering them accidentally while adjusting them in your ears, especially during fitness activities, so it makes sense that Jabra went with proper button controls on the Elite 4 Actives. It is worth mentioning though, that while these buttons can be used to control things like calls, music and volume, they can't be modified, so you're pretty much stuck with the default controls. Moreover, there's no in-ear detection which I feel is a big miss at this price point, but I'm glad to see that there is support for mono mode, so that each earbud can be used independently.
Now the earbuds themselves sit in this charging case with a flat bottom and head, making sure it doesn't roll around on a table, which to me is really smart design. The case is also is also quite lightweight at just 37.5g, and it features a USB-C port at the back. There's no wireless charging though, which I think Jabra should have included at this price point.
Another feature worth pointing out is support for voice assistants like Alexa and the Google Assistant, and support for Spotify Tap, which can launch music from Spotify using the button controls on the earbuds. Speaking of Google Assistant, the earbuds also support Google Fast Pair, which lets you quickly link them to a compatible Android smartphone.
<h3>Battery Life</h3>
When it comes to battery life, the Jabra Elite 4 Active earbuds claim to offer up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge, and up to 28 hours with the charging case. In my usage, I got around 4-5 hours with the active noise cancellation turned on, which is impressive, and Jabra has included support for fast charging, that gets you up to an hour's worth of battery life in just ten minutes of charging.
<h3>App Support - Jabra Sound+ app</h3>
I've said this before in previous reviews of Jabra earbuds, but the Jabra Sound+ app is one of my favourite partner apps for TWS earbuds, mostly because of how simple it is to use and the amount of features it offers. Not only do you get quick access to things like the ANC modes, you can also tune the equaliser or use presets using these handy widgets. You can also use the app to update the firmware and setup the Spotify Tap function I mentioned before, or a voice assistant. The best part, however, is the Discover tab, that offers a lot of helpful information on how best to setup and use the Jabra Elite 4 Active earbuds.
<h3>Verdict</h3>
At ₹9,999, I think the Jabra Elite 4 Active earbuds are good value for money, especially when you consider the excellent sound and call quality. While I would have expected Jabra to offer wireless charging and in-ear detection at this price point, the Elite 4 Active earbuds do offer a great experience, definitely enough to beat the competition.

These are the LG Tone Free FP9 true wireless earbuds. They come with active noise cancellation technology, a price tag of Rs. 15,990, and yes, a couple of party tricks that the AirPods Pro don't get. But does all that make these the best premium earbuds out there?

 Fit and Comfort
 The FP9s sport an in-ear design and they sit quite deep in the ear canal. Like with other in-ear buds, fit and comfort is all down to the eartips you use, and large eartips worked best for me.&nbsp; LG does provide eartips in extra sizes, and they&rsquo;re made of hypoallergenic silicone. The FP9s fit me well, and never felt like they were going to come loose in my ears or fall out. Despite sitting deep in the ear canal, they were comfortable enough to wear for over a couple of hours at a stretch, and I surprisingly did not feel a lot of ear fatigue like I usually do with other in-ear style buds.
Design and Utility
The FP9s look quite understated and simple, especially in this White colour variant that I've got. Both the case and earbuds are finished in matte except for this one vertical portion on the earbuds that's glossy, probably to add a bit of visual flair. The earbuds feature thin stalks which also house the touch controls to toggle ANC, control volume and media playback. They also get in-ear detection, which pauses the music when you take one of the earbuds out and resumes it when you pop it back in.
 If you're worried about getting scratches on the case, LG is currently offering the FP9s and a few other earbuds with a free cover, although I wish it was offered in more design options. The charging case weighs less than 50g so it's pretty lightweight, and the earbuds themselves are around 5g each.&nbsp;There's a USB Type-C port at the back since there's no support for wireless charging, a feature that I feel should have been provided at this premium price point. Still, there&rsquo;s an IPX4 water resistance rating for the case, which is good to see.
Now if you look closely, you&rsquo;ll see that there's an additional toggle button on the side, and what it does is amazing. Once turned on, you can basically&nbsp;connect the case using this Type-C to 3.5mm cable, and use the earbuds wirelessly with whatever device you like! I know it doesn&rsquo;t sound like much, but it&rsquo;s a great feature if you travel in airplanes a lot, or play video games on devices that don&rsquo;t have Bluetooth connectivity, or have spotty wireless transmission.
Another cool feature I have to talk about is that blue light in the case you may have noticed&mdash;that&rsquo;s not just for style. It&rsquo;s actually UV Nano technology that helps rid your earbuds of bacteria and keeps your ears somewhat cleaner. That&rsquo;s a handy feature in times like these, especially if you&rsquo;re a bit of a germophobe.
Sound Quality
 When it comes to sound quality, I was left quite impressed with the FP9 earbuds. They do tend to favour bass tones a bit, but the sound reproduction was always clear and punchy. I rarely found myself going above 70% volume, as the buds did get more than loud enough even at that volume level. The sound signature isn&rsquo;t exactly balanced, and if you&rsquo;re someone that favours lower end frequencies, like me, then you&rsquo;ll be pleased with what you hear through the FP9s.&nbsp;
It&rsquo;s also worth mentioning that the FP9s are tuned by Meridian, a high-end audio brand, and you can certainly feel their influence when you&rsquo;re listening to music on the earbuds.
Now the FP9s also boast of spatial audio, with can be enabled with this 3D sound stage preset, and it did make the movie watching experience a bit better. However, I don&rsquo;t recommend using it for listening to music, because it can cause weird audio glitches.
Overall, though, I think the FP9s have been tuned quite well for mass-market appeal, and that&rsquo;s also evident by the lack of the higher resolution LDAC codec support, with SBC and AAC audio being the only codecs available here.
 Active Noise Cancellation
Like most other premium true wireless earbuds, the LG FP9s boast very capable active noise cancellation technology. As soon as you turn it on with a single long press on either earbud, you can hear ambient noise disappear. It doesn&rsquo;t go away completely, and high frequency disturbances do sometimes make it through, but if you&rsquo;ve got the music at anywhere above 50%, it should work well for you in moderately noisy environments.
You can also toggle how severe you want the noise cancellation to be, which I think is a good feature to include. Moreover, you can toggle the ambient noise on, which helps pipe in sounds around you through the mics, and can also be set to focus on voices in particular.
 Calling and Gaming
An important part of any TWS experience is call quality, and it&rsquo;s where a lot of premium earbuds drop the ball. However, in my usage, the LG FP9s worked very well, offering clear transmission on both ends of the call. I think the stalk design here helps with audio quality, bringing the mic closer to your mouth.
When it came to gaming, however, there was a bit of noticeable lag, especially when playing FPS games that required listening out for enemies. Even when I turned on the Game Mode in the Tone Free Lab, there was a significant enough delay between what I was seeing on screen and hearing through the FP9s.
Apart from that though, for everyday music listening, movie watching and other media playback, Bluetooth v5.2 on the FP9s provided clear transmission.
 Battery Life
Under the hood, the LG FP9s get 68mAh worth of battery in each earbud, and 390mAh in the case. Thanks to that, they provided me well over five hours of battery life at a stretch with the ANC turned on, and the case managed to stay above 20%, even after 5 days of mixed usage. The FP9s also support quick charging, that should get you around 1 hour of playback time in just 5 minutes of charging.
LG Tone Free App
 The partner LG Tone Free App is available for both Android and iOS, and it provides a comprehensive list of features to help enhance your TWS experience.
Up front and centre, you can have a look at all the touch controls and how to trigger them, and below that, you&rsquo;ll find the equaliser settings.
You also get a Touchpad lock, that stops the touch area from registering input. This is a really handy feature I wish other manufacturers offered.&nbsp;
Price and Verdict
You can get the LG Tone Free FP9s for Rs. 15,990 after cashback, and for the price, they offer quite a lot of value. Sure, they miss out on wireless charging and LDAC support, but there&rsquo;s excellent sound quality, strong active noise cancellation and some bonus features that you just don&rsquo;t get on any other pair of true wireless earbuds.

 The charging case weighs less than 50g so it's pretty lightweight, and the earbuds themselves are around 5g each.&nbsp;There's a USB Type-C port at the back since there's no support for wireless charging, a feature that I feel should have been provided at this premium price point. Still, there&rsquo;s an IPX4 water resistance rating for the case, which is good to see.
Now if you look closely, you&rsquo;ll see that there's an additional toggle button on the side, and what it does is amazing. Once turned on, you can basically&nbsp;connect the case using this Type-C to 3.5mm cable, and use the earbuds wirelessly with whatever device you like! I know it doesn&rsquo;t sound like much, but it&rsquo;s a great feature if you travel in airplanes a lot, or play video games on devices that don&rsquo;t have Bluetooth connectivity, or have spotty wireless transmission.
Another cool feature I have to talk about is that blue light in the case you may have noticed&mdash;that&rsquo;s not just for style. It&rsquo;s actually UV Nano technology that helps rid your earbuds of bacteria and keeps your ears somewhat cleaner. That&rsquo;s a handy feature in times like these, especially if you&rsquo;re a bit of a germophobe.
Sound Quality
 When it comes to sound quality, I was left quite impressed with the FP9 earbuds. They do tend to favour bass tones a bit, but the sound reproduction was always clear and punchy. I rarely found myself going above 70% volume, as the buds did get more than loud enough even at that volume level. The sound signature isn&rsquo;t exactly balanced, and if you&rsquo;re someone that favours lower end frequencies, like me, then you&rsquo;ll be pleased with what you hear through the FP9s.&nbsp;
It&rsquo;s also worth mentioning that the FP9s are tuned by Meridian, a high-end audio brand, and you can certainly feel their influence when you&rsquo;re listening to music on the earbuds.
Now the FP9s also boast of spatial audio, with can be enabled with this 3D sound stage preset, and it did make the movie watching experience a bit better. However, I don&rsquo;t recommend using it for listening to music, because it can cause weird audio glitches.
Overall, though, I think the FP9s have been tuned quite well for mass-market appeal, and that&rsquo;s also evident by the lack of the higher resolution LDAC codec support, with SBC and AAC audio being the only codecs available here.
 Active Noise Cancellation
Like most other premium true wireless earbuds, the LG FP9s boast very capable active noise cancellation technology. As soon as you turn it on with a single long press on either earbud, you can hear ambient noise disappear. It doesn&rsquo;t go away completely, and high frequency disturbances do sometimes make it through, but if you&rsquo;ve got the music at anywhere above 50%, it should work well for you in moderately noisy environments.
You can also toggle how severe you want the noise cancellation to be, which I think is a good feature to include. Moreover, you can toggle the ambient noise on, which helps pipe in sounds around you through the mics, and can also be set to focus on voices in particular.
 Calling and Gaming
An important part of any TWS experience is call quality, and it&rsquo;s where a lot of premium earbuds drop the ball. However, in my usage, the LG FP9s worked very well, offering clear transmission on both ends of the call. I think the stalk design here helps with audio quality, bringing the mic closer to your mouth.
When it came to gaming, however, there was a bit of noticeable lag, especially when playing FPS games that required listening out for enemies. Even when I turned on the Game Mode in the Tone Free Lab, there was a significant enough delay between what I was seeing on screen and hearing through the FP9s.
Apart from that though, for everyday music listening, movie watching and other media playback, Bluetooth v5.2 on the FP9s provided clear transmission.
 Battery Life
Under the hood, the LG FP9s get 68mAh worth of battery in each earbud, and 390mAh in the case. Thanks to that, they provided me well over five hours of battery life at a stretch with the ANC turned on, and the case managed to stay above 20%, even after 5 days of mixed usage.
 The FP9s also support quick charging, that should get you around 1 hour of playback time in just 5 minutes of charging.
LG Tone Free App
 The partner LG Tone Free App is available for both Android and iOS, and it provides a comprehensive list of features to help enhance your TWS experience.
Up front and centre, you can have a look at all the touch controls and how to trigger them, and below that, you&rsquo;ll find the equaliser settings.
You also get a Touchpad lock, that stops the touch area from registering input. This is a really handy feature I wish other manufacturers offered.&nbsp;
Price and Verdict
You can get the LG Tone Free FP9s for Rs. 15,990 after cashback, and for the price, they offer quite a lot of value. Sure, they miss out on wireless charging and LDAC support, but there&rsquo;s excellent sound quality, strong active noise cancellation and some bonus features that you just don&rsquo;t get on any other pair of true wireless earbuds.

Moreover, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro are equipped with Bluetooth v5.2 and are quite lightweight, with each earbud weighing just 5.4g. The charging case for the Jabra Elite 7 Pro gets both Qi wireless charging and a USB-C charging port, that supports fast charging.

True wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation are a hot segment right now, which practically every tech brand out there cashing in on the trend. Still, despite heavy competition, there's one brand that has always managed to secure one of the top spots--Jabra. And with their latest entrant, they seem determined to do the same.
Having said that, this is our Jabra Elite 7 Pro review. If you're a fan of the true wireless form factor and don't fancy the AirPods Pro, these might be your next best bet.
<h3>Fit &amp; Comfort</h3>
The <a href="https://www.editorji.com/tech-news/jabra-announce-elite-7-pro-active-among-slate-of-tws-earbuds-1632751668086" target="_blank">Jabra Elite 7 Pro</a> earbuds feature an in-ear design, which helps them sit quite deep inside the ear canal. This makes for excellent passive noise isolation, with most ambient sound disappearing as soon as you wear the earbuds.
If you have trouble with how they feel in your ears though, you can choose from two other sizes of ear tips that Jabra provides in the box.
Now depending on your preference, you may or may not like the in-ear design, but as far as in-ear buds go, the Elite 7 Pros are quite comfortable, even when worn for long periods of time. They also don't come loose very easily, so you won't be constantly reaching to readjust them.
Moreover, you can take an earbud fit test to make sure that the earbuds are sitting in your ear as best as possible.
<h3>Sound Quality</h3>
When it comes to the quality of sound, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro earbuds are up there with the best of them. The sound signature is smooth and balanced, and details come through clearly, both when listening to music and while watching films or shows. Unlike most budget options, bass tones do not dominate the sound signature here. However, it doesn't mean that the Elite 7 Pros don't have enough thump, because they do. If you take the MySound test to determine your personal preference, or use the Equaliser through the Jabra Sound+ app, the earbuds do deliver punchy bass notes when required.
There's a surprising amount of power packed in these 6mm custom drivers, and the Elite 7 Pro earbuds get really loud when you touch the full volume mark.
It is worth pointing out however, that the earbuds do not get Hi-Res Audio certification, nor do they get Hi-Res LDAC streaming, which may be a deal breaker for audiophiles. Moreover, there's only support for the AAC and SBC codec here, and aptX audio support would have been appreciated.
<h3>Active Noise Cancellation</h3>
The Jabra Elite 7 Pro earbuds feature active noise cancellation technology, which is quite a helpful feature in noisy environments like an office or crowded public spaces.
Now like we said before, the passive noise isolation blocks out most noise to begin with. But to block out everything else that gets through, you can turn on the active noise cancellation feature. This reduces the amount of ambient noise around you, but in our experience, it didn't seem to be very effective. That could be down to how good the passive noise isolation is, but it means that the active noise cancellation did not seem to be as strong as we had expected on a pair of earbuds at this price point.
Still, you can toggle the amount of noise cancellation you want according to your preference, and if you need to let in ambient sounds, there's Jabra's Hear Through mode. It's essentially a transparency mode, but Jabra has implemented the feature very well on the Elite 7 Pro earbuds. Hear Through sounds very natural and not artificially boosted, as it tends happen with other true wireless earbuds.

<h3>Call Quality</h3>
Call quality is one of the strongest points of the Jabra Elite 7 Pro earbuds. Thanks to MultiSensor Voice technology, people you're speaking with will not have to deal with all the ambient noise around you. It uses four microphones and a Voice Pick Up sensor in each bud to provide some of the best call quality we've ever had on a pair of true wireless earbuds.
Moreover, you can play around with the app to enhance the calling experience by using Sidetone, that effectively lets in some ambient noise into your ears, so you don't end up shouting while you're speaking. You can also tune the call audio to boost either treble or bass, which is a nifty feature. There's bone conduction technology as well, which is triggered when you're in windy conditions.
Apart from this, there's another cool feature for when you're on a call. Let's say you're speaking to someone using the earbuds, and you need to quickly mute yourself. Instead of having to reach for your phone and muting yourself, all you have to do is remove the earbuds, and they'll automatically mute themselves. It's worth noting that when you're using both earbuds together, you will have to remove both of them for this feature to work, but if you're using only one earbud, taking it out your ear will indeed mute it.
<h3>Gaming and Transmission Lag</h3>
While gaming on COD mobile, we did notice a bit of lag when playing, which is to be expected, and we wish Jabra had provided a low latency mode to help reduce the delayed effect.
However, we experienced no issues in transmission when watching films and TV shows. Moreover, thanks to Bluetooth v5.2, connection quality was strong at all times, with no skipping during music playback.
<h3>Design and Utility</h3>
The Jabra Elite 7 Pro feature a very compact design, with no visible stalks present. The quality of materials used feels good to the touch, and the earbuds weigh just 5.4g each. If you appreciate a stealthy, understated look, you'll certainly like the earbuds in this Titanium Black colour.
The charging case is also quite pocket-friendly, and comes with both Qi wireless charging and USB-C charging, which is expected at this price point, but still appreciated.
Now while most true wireless earbuds use some form of touch controls, the Elite 7 Pros get physical buttons that you need to press in order to trigger various functions. The actuation point for the button is comfortable enough, and they allow you to control playback, cycle through the noise cancellation modes and trigger the voice assistant.
Now it's worth noting that at the time of this review, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro do not support connection with multiple devices at once, but Jabra mentions on their website that its Multipoint feature will be added in January 2022 via a firmware update.

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro earbuds claim to offer up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge, and up to 30 hours with the included charging case, all with active noise cancellation on. We managed to get well over 5 hours in my testing which is impressive, and we like that Jabra has included fast charging, which allows you to get around an hour of playback in just 5 minutes.
<h3>App Support - Jabra Sound+ app</h3>
The Jabra Sound+ is quite exhaustive, and helps you customise the Elite 7 Pro earbuds just the way you like.
Not only can you customise the ANC profiles and controls, you can also modify the Equaliser and build your own sound profile. You can also use the app to take an earbud fit test, and to update the firmware.
There's also ample guidance at hand, and the app has sections which help you discover various features on the Jabra Elite 7 Pros in an informative manner.
A feature we particularly enjoyed in the app was the ambient sound section, that plays white noise and calming tracks to help your relax or focus, depending on your needs.
<h3>Verdict</h3>
At ₹17,999, the Jabra Elite 7 Pro earbuds are quite expensive, and sit squarely in the premium earbud segment. The active noise cancellation may leave you wanting more, but if you're looking for good sound quality, a customisable experience, great battery life and excellent call quality, these earbuds should definitely be on your list.

Design &amp; Comfort
The Huawei&nbsp;Freebuds 4i have a rather unique design, and come in an egg-shaped matte-finish charging case, which is flat on one side to ensure it doesn't roll around on a table. Inside the case there's the two earbuds that feature a circular head and rather long stalks. In this Silver Frost colour variant, both the earbuds and charging case look and feel quite premium.
The buds themselves are quite lightweight, weighing around 5.5g each, and the case weighs around 36.5g. Overall, it's a very compact and handy package, and won't take too much space in your pocket.
The earbuds manage to fit in the ear quite well, but the default eartips were a bit tight for my ears. To this end, Huawei has provided extra eartips, which is handy. Once you've got the right fit, the earbuds sit fairly deep in the ear canal, enough to create a good passive seal against noise.
There's no IP rating for the buds, so I would advise against using them during sweaty workouts or in the rain.
Hardware &amp; Touch Controls
When it comes to specs, the <a href="https://www.editorji.com/editorji-specials/the-ej-tech-show/ej-tech-show-effects-of-mobile-phone-radiation-huawei-freebuds-4i-review-1638023814115">Freebuds 4i</a> house 10mm large drivers, that are tuned in quite a balanced manner. There's also Bluetooth v5.2 here, which ensures the very best connection quality, and gave me no problems throughout my usage.
The Huawei&nbsp;Freebuds 4i get touch controls on the very top of the stalks, which double-tap and touch-and-hold functions. There's no single tap, which I think is a good idea, because it can get triggered accidentally when you're trying to adjust the earbuds.
The touch controls can be used to toggle the active noise cancellation and transparency modes, play, pause or change tracks and also to wake the voice assistant. It is worth noting however, that you can't use touch to change volume with either earbud.
What you can do without touch controls is use the in-ear detection feature to pause content playback when you remove the earbud and resume it once you pop them back in.
Active Noise Cancellation
The Huawei&nbsp;Freebuds 4i come with active noise cancellation technology, which is good to see in this price range.
Now since the earbuds block noise quite well without the ANC itself, the experience is only improved when you turn the feature on. With ANC on, barely any sounds make it through, and when we used them in an office setting, we could barely hear any ambient noise with music playing at around 50% volume.
The transparency mode is useful too, and helps you keep an ear out without having to remove one of the earbuds. It can be toggled using the touch controls, or the Huawei AI Life App.
Music &amp; Video
Sound quality for everyday music-listening is quite enjoyable on the Huawei&nbsp;Freebuds 4i, and they get fairly loud. The sound profile is surprisingly balanced, and doesn't favour bass as most earbuds at this price point do. Details come through quite clearly as well, whether it's while watching films or listening to podcasts.
However, it's worth noting that there's no Equaliser settings, even if you pair the earbuds with the compatible app. This can be remedied by adjusting the EQ settings on music-listening apps, but for apps like YouTube, Netflix and others, you're stuck with the default sound profile.
There's also support for the SBC codec, and the AAC codec as well, which is good to see.
It's worth noting that we did not experience any lag in the audio transmission while watching videos on YouTube or Netflix.
Gaming
When it comes to gaming, there's no low latency mode available on the Freebuds 4i, and that translates to a bit of lag. It's not to the extent that titles like COD mobile are unplayable, but it certainly doesn't make for an ideal gaming experience either.
Calling Quality
Now thanks to those extra-long stalks and a dual-mic system, call quality on the Huawei&nbsp;Freebuds 4i is fantastic. Beamforming technology and AI noise reduction combined with the hardware help reduce background noise around you quite well, and people we spoke to using the earbuds, said they could hear us clearly.
Moreover, their voices were crisp, and not muffled like it usually tends to happen with in-ear buds.
Battery Life
The Freebuds 4i sport 55mAh battery in each earbud, which translates to a claimed 7.5 hours of music playback with ANC on, and 10 hours with ANC off. In our testing, we got well over 5 hours with ANC on while listening to music, watching a few TV shows and taking a couple of long calls. You'll definitely be able to stretch that battery life if you turn ANC off, but if you do need a quick top-up, the charging case holds a respectable 215mAh.
The case sports a USB-C charging port, but there's no wireless charging, which is offered by its competitors at this price point.
Huawei AI Life App
Now Huawei's AI Life App that's available on the Google Play Store hasn't been updated since August last year, but if you do still download it, you'll see there's no support for the Freebuds 4i. However, the app will automatically inform you that you can update to the latest version using the Huawei App Gallery, which you can sideload on Android smartphones.
The updated AI Life app supports pairing with the Huawei&nbsp;Freebuds 4i, and gives you the ability to view battery information, update the firmware, and customise touch controls.
However, we do wish that the app had an option to customise the sound profile and equaliser settings.
It's worth noting that the iOS App Store version of the app gave us no trouble with pairing the earbuds, and offered all the same functions as the updated app from the Huawei App gallery.

At ₹7,990, there's a fair bit on offer here. Despite missing out on Equaliser settings and wireless charging, the earbuds do provide a balanced sound profile, excellent noise cancellation, and great sound quality. If you are looking for in-ear true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation at this price point, the Huawei Freebuds 4i are a compelling choice.

You would have heard a lot of things about the radiation coming from mobile phones. Some people say they cause cancer, cause memory loss, or that 5G towers will give you Covid. But what does medical research have to say on the matter? Is your mobile phone really killing you?
Short answer - not really. But there are some complex things to consider, so let&rsquo;s dive in.

What is radiation?
First, we need to understand what radiation is. According to the US CDC, radiation is energy that comes from a source and travels through space at the speed of light. There is a wide range of electromagnetic radiation present in nature, which can be represented on an electromagnetic spectrum. This can further be divided into ionizing and non-ionizing radiation
Visible light can be seen around the middle, while to the left of it is the non-ionising radiation, which is low frequency and low energy. It is emitted from things like TV&rsquo;s, Wi-Fi, or even Microwaves.
On the other side is ionising radiation, which has been proven to be harmful to humans. This the kind of radiation that you might get from x-rays or cosmic rays, which can damage DNA, and cause changes to genes which increases the risk of cancer.
What kind of radiation do phones emit?
Before understanding the effects of cell phone radiation, let&rsquo;s first understand what kind of radiation this is. According to the US National Cancer Institute, 2G, 3G, and 4G smartphones emit radio frequency in the range of 0.7 - 2.7 Ghz, while 5G phones could use the spectrum up to 80 Ghz. This places them squarely in the non-ionising radiation range of the spectrum.
The National Cancer Institute says there is currently no consistent evidence that non-ionizing radiation increases cancer risk in humans.

How does the body react to cell phones?
The human body does absorb the energy from devices that emit radio frequency radiation. The only thing that has consistently been observed as a result of this, is that places where you hold a mobile phone can heat up. This heating effect is also not sufficient to lead to a measurable change in body temperature.
According to the National Cancer Institute, there have been three large studies which examined a possible association between smartphone use and cancer. Now, these studies did show some mixed results, but overall, all three studies did not show any such association.
There have also been studies which checked the rate of brain cancer cases every year, since mobile phone use increased exponentially across the world. These also showed that across the past few decades, while mobile phone use has increased exponentially around the world, the rate of brain or nervous system cancers has not grown.
Are mobile phones completely safe?
So, are mobile phones completely safe? The US Food and Drug Administration puts it best: based on the evaluation of the currently available information the weight of scientific evidence has not linked exposure to radio frequency energy from mobile phone use with any health problems.&nbsp;
But this is an active field of study, and lots of research is still underway. In Europe, for example, a study called COSMOS will follow around 3 lakh mobile phone users for 20 to 30 years, to find out the possible long term effects of mobile users.
Which basically means, as far as we know right now, mobile phones do not cause cancer. But, as we continue to study the long term health effects of these devices, we will know more with time.

<h3>Huawei Freebuds 4i TWS Earbuds Review</h3>
Priced at under ₹7,000, the Huawei Freebuds 4i earbuds offer some premium features like active noise cancellation, but are they the ones you should go for?
Design &amp; Comfort
The Freebuds 4i have a rather unique design, and come in an egg-shaped matte-finish charging case, which is flat on one side to ensure it doesn't roll around on a table. Inside the case there's the two earbuds that feature a circular head and rather long stalks. In this Silver Frost colour variant, both the earbuds and charging case look and feel quite premium.
The buds themselves are quite lightweight, weighing around 5.5g each, and the case weighs around 36.5g. Overall, it's a very compact and handy package, and won't take too much space in your pocket.
The earbuds manage to fit in the ear quite well, but the default eartips were a bit tight for my ears. To this end, Huawei has provided extra eartips, which is handy. Once you've got the right fit, the earbuds sit fairly deep in the ear canal, enough to create a good passive seal against noise.
There's no IP rating for the buds, so I would advise against using them during sweaty workouts or in the rain.
Hardware &amp; Touch Controls
When it comes to specs, the Freebuds 4i house 10mm large drivers, that are tuned in quite a balanced manner. There's also Bluetooth v5.2 here, which ensures the very best connection quality, and gave me no problems throughout my usage.
The Freebuds 4i get touch controls on the very top of the stalks, which double-tap and touch-and-hold functions. There's no single tap, which I think is a good idea, because it can get triggered accidentally when you're trying to adjust the earbuds.
The touch controls can be used to toggle the active noise cancellation and transparency modes, play, pause or change tracks and also to wake the voice assistant. It is worth noting however, that you can't use touch to change volume with either earbud.
What you can do without touch controls is use the in-ear detection feature to pause content playback when you remove the earbud and resume it once you pop them back in.
Active Noise Cancellation
The Freebuds 4i come with active noise cancellation technology, which is good to see in this price range.
Now since the earbuds block noise quite well without the ANC itself, the experience is only improved when you turn the feature on. With ANC on, barely any sounds make it through, and when we used them in an office setting, we could barely hear any ambient noise with music playing at around 50% volume.
The transparency mode is useful too, and helps you keep an ear out without having to remove one of the earbuds. It can be toggled using the touch controls, or the Huawei AI Life App.
Music &amp; Video
Sound quality for everyday music-listening is quite enjoyable on the Freebuds 4i, and they get fairly loud. The sound profile is surprisingly balanced, and doesn't favour bass as most earbuds at this price point do. Details come through quite clearly as well, whether it's while watching films or listening to podcasts.
However, it's worth noting that there's no Equaliser settings, even if you pair the earbuds with the compatible app. This can be remedied by adjusting the EQ settings on music-listening apps, but for apps like YouTube, Netflix and others, you're stuck with the default sound profile.
There's also support for the SBC codec, and the AAC codec as well, which is good to see.
It's worth noting that we did not experience any lag in the audio transmission while watching videos on YouTube or Netflix.
Gaming
When it comes to gaming, there's no low latency mode available on the Freebuds 4i, and that translates to a bit of lag. It's not to the extent that titles like COD mobile are unplayable, but it certainly doesn't make for an ideal gaming experience either.
Calling Quality
Now thanks to those extra-long stalks and a dual-mic system, call quality on the Freebuds 4i is fantastic. Beamforming technology and AI noise reduction combined with the hardware help reduce background noise around you quite well, and people we spoke to using the earbuds, said they could hear us clearly.
Moreover, their voices were crisp, and not muffled like it usually tends to happen with in-ear buds.
Battery Life
The Freebuds 4i sport 55mAh battery in each earbud, which translates to a claimed 7.5 hours of music playback with ANC on, and 10 hours with ANC off. In our testing, we got well over 5 hours with ANC on while listening to music, watching a few TV shows and taking a couple of long calls. You'll definitely be able to stretch that battery life if you turn ANC off, but if you do need a quick top-up, the charging case holds a respectable 200mAh.
The case sports a USB-C charging port, but there's no wireless charging, which is offered by its competitors at this price point.
Huawei AI Life App
Now Huawei's AI Life App that's available on the Google Play Store hasn't been updated since August last year, but if you do still download it, you'll see there's no support for the Freebuds 4i. However, the app will automatically inform you that you can update to the latest version using the Huawei App Gallery, which you can sideload on Android smartphones.
The updated AI Life app supports pairing with the Freebuds 4i, and gives you the ability to view battery information, update the firmware, and customise touch controls.
However, we do wish that the app had an option to customise the sound profile and equaliser settings.
It's worth noting that the iOS App Store version of the app gave us no trouble with pairing the earbuds, and offered all the same functions as the updated app from the Huawei App gallery.
Verdict
At ₹6,990, there's a fair bit on offer here. Despite missing out on Equaliser settings and wireless charging, the earbuds do provide a balanced sound profile, excellent noise cancellation, and great sound quality. If you are looking for in-ear true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation at this price point, the Huawei Freebuds 4i are a compelling choice.

Apple prides itself on its security, and promises on its website that the iPhone&rsquo;s built-in security features help prevent anyone but the user from accessing the data on the phone.
On September 14, Apple launched the iPhone 13. Around 5 weeks after this launch, two separate hacker teams at a Chinese hackathon event broke into the iPhone 13 Pro, running the latest iOS 15.0.2. One of the teams had complete control of the phone&rsquo;s systems in literally one second.&nbsp;
Now, fortunately, this was an entirely legal and above-board event, and these teams will be in touch with Apple to explain how they found these exploits, which should be patched by the next iOS update.
In fact, most big tech companies like Apple and Google have their own &lsquo;bug bounty&rsquo; programs where they hand out cash prizes for developers who can point out exploits to the company, without publicly disclosing this information.
However, this does prove that it is at least technically possible to hack into what is considered the most secure smartphone, through a method that doesn&rsquo;t involve much fault on the user&rsquo;s part.
<h3>What kinds of hackers are there?</h3>
There are, broadly, two kinds of hackers - white hat and black hat. While black hat hackers try and break into servers, computers, and phones for malicious reasons, like stealing data, or extorting money, white hat hackers are different.
Black hat hackers don't need to attend hackathons to try and find ways to break into computers and phones for nefarious purposes. They can do it from any remote location in the world, and their activities are usually aimed at extorting money from an organisation or individual, but can also be used for spying.
Earlier this year, a group of news organisations across the globe published information that a spyware called Pegasus, developed by Israeli agency NSO, was used to spy on politicians, journalists, and activists across the globe. Pegasus was a zero-click hack, meaning that it could infect a phone and have complete access to all device systems, including seeing all files, being able to read anything the user types, and being able to access the camera and microphone feeds at all times. It worked across the latest Android and iOS devices.
Now, spyware like Pegasus is extremely expensive to obtain, partly because it is so rare. This means that it still remains highly unlikely that your phone in particular has been infected by spyware which is this advanced. But it remains theoretically possible.
So, how can you keep yourself safe from hacks like these? How do you make sure you&rsquo;re not hacked?
Well, you really can&rsquo;t. When an exploit is found, depending on the intentions of the hacker who found it, it is usually relayed to the tech company, who issue a fix. If this exploit is a zero-click, like Pegasus was, it does not require you to do anything wrong in order to infect your phone. So there&rsquo;s really nothing you can do right, to prevent this sort of thing.
But there are still a lot of steps you can take to be more secure online, with more common forms of spyware and malware, so let&rsquo;s go through those.
<h3>How to stay safe online</h3>
Firstly, always keep all your devices updated to the latest available software, including your phone and your laptop or desktop computer. I know frequent updates are annoying, but it&rsquo;s important to always be running the newest software. If a fix for attacks like Pegasus is released, it can only be downloaded to your phone through a system update. So, if you see that an update is available, don&rsquo;t wait, do it now.
It is possible to protect yourself from less advanced attacks through your own diligence. Be careful and second guess everything you see on the internet, or get in an e-mail or text message. If you get a text offering you the latest WhatsApp gold version with extra features, or an e-mail saying that a long-lost relative has died and left you millions in inheritance, don&rsquo;t believe it immediately. If a claim sounds too good to be true, it often is. It&rsquo;s always best to google offers and claims like this to see if they are spyware, or check if the sender is confirmed to be an organisation or someone impersonating them.
Another very important step is to make sure you don&rsquo;t use the same password for everything. It&rsquo;s really hard to remember lots of different passwords, but re-using the same password means that if one of your accounts gets hacked, you also lose access to all other accounts and services. Using a unique password for every separate account you have can be tedious, but it&rsquo;s an absolute must if you want to be more secure, and safeguard yourself from attacks. You can also use a password manager app to help you remember different passwords.

In the times we live in, it&rsquo;s important to remember that your data is never truly safe. In the days of zero-click and zero-day attacks, theoretically it is always possible that someone could hack into your phone without you knowing. But what you can do is lower the chances of this happening, and make sure that you&rsquo;re as safe online as you can be.

The segment is set to touch 310 million units worth of sale, with Apple, Xiaomi and Samsung expected to lead the charge. Apple is expected to retain its lead in the segment with 84 million units of its AirPods to be sold in 2021.

Xioami leads the shipment charts with 14.7% market share, with Boat in second at 13.9%, and Realme in third at 13.6%. In terms of revenue, however, Apple leads the market with a 35% market share, with OnePlus and Xiaomi taking the second and third spots.
