A heated confrontation unfolded as Tamil Nadu cricketer Baba Aparajith had an unseemly argument with the umpires during a TNCA club match.
The incident took place during a high-stakes first-division Tamil Nadu game, featuring Jolly Rovers CC and Young Stars Cricket Club. Aparajith, with a score of 34 to his name, faced a delivery from Hari Nishannth that exhibited sharp spin, bouncing off the batter's pads before looping upwards.
Fielder GS Raju, positioned at short leg, managed to cleanly gather the ball. As the fielders collectively appealed, the umpire promptly raised his finger in response.
Aparajith appeared to be in a state of disbelief, raising questions about the decision. In the aftermath, tempers flared, leading to an intense and protracted conversation between the 29-year-old and the umpires. Ultimately, Aparajith departed from the crease. However, on his way back to the pavilion, he became embroiled in a fiery verbal exchange with an opposition fielder. Umpires had to intervene to diffuse the situation and separate the two individuals.

A few months back, Rauf was interviewed by a Pakistani news channel in his second-hand apparel shop and the former Pakistani umpire said that because he has umpired in so many games in the past, there is nothing left for him to see. 
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja sent his condolences to his family through social media and wrote on Twitter that Rauf was not only a good umpire but also had a good sense of humour. 
Rauf made his first appearance as an umpire in international cricket in 2000. He was elevated to ICC elite panel in April 2006. 
He officiated in 49 Tests,  139 ODIs and 28 T20Is. 
But his career came to an abrupt end in 2013 when he was named as one of the accused by the Mumbai Police in the IPL spot-fixing scandal.

The other groups are namely, Group A contains 20 umpires, Group B has 60 while Group C and D consist of 46 and 11 umpires respectively.

Though the list was presented as 'gradation of umpires' but a BCCI official later clarified that it is not grading. However, the duties will be assigned on the basis of the groups. 
For a first-class game, umpires in the A+ and A categories will get a remuneration of Rs 40,000 a day while B and C category umpires will be paid Rs 30,000 per day.
