Expressing his views, Yogi Adityanath said the country wants to see work and PM Modi has given a new direction. "The country wants to see work and PM Modi has given a new direction to the country. His 10-year regime is a golden era in independent India."
He further added, "In every sector, India has done something new. Today, India is established as a rapidly progressing economy. This will prove to be beneficial for the BJP."
The UP Chief Minister also said that the people are blessing the works done by PM Narendra Modi.
"The excitement within the country and the enthusiasm and optimism among the people for the work of PM Modi in 10 years--going by that we can say that people are blessing the works of the PM and we will receive help in fulfilling the 'Sankalp' of the Modi government within the country," he said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday alleged that Congress wants to rob the rights of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Castes with its caste census.
Addressing a press conference at the state BJP headquarters, Adityanath said the Congress and the INDIA bloc will tear the social fabric of the country with its caste census.
Citing a 2006 speech by then prime minister Manmohan Singh, Adityanath said the Congress leader had said that Muslims had the first right on the country&rsquo;s resources.
"Congress will conduct a survey of people&rsquo;s properties and then distribute it. They are making the caste census its basis,&rdquo; the chief minister said, claiming that the Congress has expressed such an intention in its manifesto.
"Congress's intention has always been to gain power by any means. They want power at the expense of the country. For this, they will bring in Talibani tendencies in India that will cause barbaric atrocities of women,&rdquo; he said.

Giving a new election slogan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh will form the basis for BJP-led NDA winning 400-plus seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
"Assi banega aadhar, NDA char sau paar, phir ek baar Modi sarkar," he said at a press conference here.
"BJP's Sankalp Patra serves as the blueprint for a 'naya, shreshth, aatmanirbhar and viksit Bharat (new, great, self-reliant and developed India). In addition to declaring a war against corruption, it reaffirms the commitment to elevate India from antyodaya to sarvodaya and position it as a global leader," Adityanath said while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here.
The chief minister highlighted that on the birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the BJP's Sankalp Patra. Its first four copies represent the four social pillars of the country - gareeb (poor), yuva (youth), annadata (farmers), and nari (women), collectively known as GYAN, he said.
"The BJP's Sankalp Patra is Modi's guarantee. The citizens of the country have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guarantee of making India developed and self-reliant," he said.
"Modi's guarantee means taking forward the concept of viksit Bharat (developed India) through aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) with the spirit of development of all sections of people without discrimination, he said.
The aspirations of the nation today align with PM Modi's vision, which guides our mission, he further said.
The manifesto reveals the BJP's commitment to continuing and expanding the scope of all the poor welfare schemes, including free ration, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana and Awas Yojana, he said.
The Sankalp Patra also reiterates the party's resolve to achieve a developed and self-reliant India with the spirit of Nation First, he added.
"This is the first general election in which a feeling of confidence about the results is being seen across the country because people have faith in Modi ji's guarantee," he said.
The BJP released its Lok Sabha poll manifesto 'Sankalp Patra' on Sunday, prioritising development and welfare while shunning populist measures and contentious issues like the NRC, with the prime minister pitching for electing a strong and stable government in an uncertain world.&nbsp;

The principal of a government primary school in Bulandshahr district was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing girl students and showing them "indecent videos" on mobile phones, police said on Tuesday.
The principal, Pratap Singh, was arrested on Monday and sent to jail, they said.
According to the police complainant filed, Singh inappropriately touched the girl students of the school. The girls, all between nine to 12 years of age, stopped going to the school due to it, the complainant said.
They were also shown "dirty movies" on the phone and threatened that they talk about it at their home, he would fail them in the examination and debar them from the school, the complaint said.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rohit Mishra said that a case has been registered at Arnia Police Station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act. The accused was arrested and sent to jail, he said.

A woman&rsquo;s family set her in-laws' house on ablaze in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj after she died by suicide on March 18. Two people were killed in the fire.
Anshika Kesarwani was found hanging at her in-laws' house on Monday night. On receiving the news, her parents and other family members rushed to her in-laws' house and accused them of harassing the woman for dowry. &nbsp;
The altercation soon escalated, and Anshika's relatives set her in-laws' house on fire.
The woman's father-in-law Rajendra Kesarwani and mother-in-law Shobha Devi were charred to death. Three other members of the family, including Anshika's husband were injured.
"When the police team reached the spot, people from both sides were fighting. During the argument, the in-laws' house was set on fire by the woman's maternal side. Police immediately rescued five people and informed the fire brigade," police said in a statement.&nbsp;

The surfaced video of the incident showed black smoke covering the sky and flames of the fire that left surrounded people panicked.

Raj Singh alias Goldy, was a musician and a resident of Tanda Sahuwala village in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district. He had been residing in the US for more than a year with a group of musicians.
On the day of the incident, he had visited the gurudwara to perform kirtan. &nbsp;
He was shot dead by unidentified assailants when he exited the gurudwara.&nbsp;
Goldy, the eldest child of his parents, was the only breadwinner of his family after his father died five years ago. Rest of his family, his mother, two sisters, and a brother, have urged the government of India to make arrangements to bring his body back home.

She also added that since the wedding, her husband along with her other in-laws had been making further demands for a dowry.
But when the woman's family could not fulfil their demand, the in-laws abused the woman physically and mentally.
The accused also threatened the woman with a second marriage and threw her out of the house in July 2023.&nbsp;
The woman also revealed that the accused recently visited her and forced her to fulfil the demand for a Scorpio car.
When his demand was rejected, he allegedly pronounced triple talaq.

Rituals in the run-up to the January 22 Ram Mandir consecration ceremony started at the temple complex here on Tuesday, its chief priest said.
These will continue till January 21. On January 22, the minimum essential rituals needed for the "Pran Pratishtha" (consecration) of the idol of Ram Lalla will be conducted, temple trust general secretary Champat Rai had told reporters on Monday.
"The 'anushthan' has started and will continue till January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony. Eleven priests are performing the rituals invoking all the "devis and devtas" (goddesses and gods)," Ram temple chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das said.
The trust said there are seven adhivasas in the "Pran Pratishtha" and a minimum of three adhivasas are in practice.
There are 121 "acharyas" who are conducting the rituals and Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid is overseeing, coordinating and directing all proceedings of the "anushthan". The principal "acharya" will be Laxmikant Dixit Dixit of Kashi.
The Ram temple "Pran Pratishtha" will begin at 12:20 pm on January 22, Rai had said.

A 'nagada' (drum) weighing 500-kg arrived here from Gujarat on Thursday in a special chariot ahead of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple.
The 'nagada' was made by the people of Dabgar community in the Daryapur extension of Karnavati, Gujarat, the Ram Janmabhoomi Theerth Kshetra Trust said.
The trust's general secretary Champat Rai said the drum would be installed on the Ram temple premises.
Chirag Patel, a member of the group that brought the drum here, said it is adorned with layers of gold and silver.
The drum's structure has been made using iron and copper plates, Patel said.

'Ram Temple complex to have 70% green area': official explains map

Most of the Ram temple compound here will be a green area with hundreds of trees and the complex itself will be "atmanirbhar", the trust said underlining features like its own sewage and water treatment plants, a fire brigade post and a dedicated power line.
About 70 per cent of the 70-acre complex will be a green area, Ram temple trust general secretary Champat Rai told reporters here on Tuesday.
"The green area includes portions which are very dense, and in some segments of it, even sunlight hardly filters through," he said. About 600 existing trees are preserved in the green belt.
In a presentation to the media, Rai said the temple complex will be "atmanirbhar' (self-reliant) in its own way, and will not put any burden on the Ayodhya municipal body's sewage or drainage system.
The complex will have two STPs (sewage treatment plants, one WTP (water treatment plant) and a dedicated electricity line from the power house. A fire brigade post there will be able to source water from an underground reservoir, he said.
The first phase of the temple is nearing completion, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the &ldquo;pran pratishtha,&rdquo; or the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol, on January 22.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya visited the office of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, located at Ramkot in Ayodhya.
Modi will also visit the temple town on December 30 to inaugurate the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station and a new airport. He will also address a rally, officials said earlier.
"Preparations are in full swing for his visit. We are all geared up," Maurya told PTI.
A panoramic image of the upcoming temple, as envisaged, is displayed in the lobby of the trust&rsquo;s office. Rai accompanied journalists to the temple construction site after a presentation of Ram Mandir landscape plan.
"The entry into the temple will be from the east side, and exit from the south side. The entire temple superstructure will eventually be three storeys -- G+2," he said.
Visitors will climb 32 steps from the eastern side to reach the main temple.
The temple complex, built in the traditional Nagara style, will be 380 feet long (east-west direction), 250 feet wide and 161 feet high, he said.
Each floor of the temple will be 20 ft high and have a total of 392 pillars and 44 gates, he added.
The grand temple will have a rectangular periphery called 'percota', a feature that is found in temples in South India, but generally not in the north, he said.
The 'percota' will be 14-foot wide and this periphery will span 732 metres, Rai said.
The four corners of the 'percota' will be dedicated to Sun God, Maa Bhagwati, Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva.
A shrine dedicated to Maa Annapurna will be constructed on the northern side. On the southern side, there will be shrine for Lord Hanuman, Rai said.
Seven other shrines are planned in the complex, dedicated to Maharshi Valmiki, Maharshi Vashisht, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Maharshi Agastya, Nishad Raj, Mata Shabri and Devi Ahilya -- all associated with Lord Ram's life.
And an idol of Jatayu has been installed at Ayodhya&rsquo;s Kuber Tila. "An ancient Shiva temple that exists on Kuber Tila has also been revitalised," Rai said.
On Tuesday, when PTI visited the construction site, labourers were busy chiselling stone slabs, giving finishes touches ahead of the consecration ceremony.
The auspicious time for the consecration, according to Rai, would be between noon and 12.15 pm.
On Tuesday, a large number of people visited the Ram Janmabhoomi site to have a 'darshan' of the deity &ndash; the old idol of Ram Lalla that is housed in a makeshift shrine -- as construction activity continued nearby.
The complex will also have a lift and two ramps at the entrance for the elderly and people with disabilities.
There will be a pilgrim facilitation complex with a healthcare centre and a toilet block. Before their &lsquo;darshan&rsquo;, 25,000 people will be able to deposit their shoes, watches and mobile phones.
A pathway has been built for emergency situations.
Rai said that a statue of Jatayu has been installed at Kuber Tila in Ayodhya, and an ancient Shiva temple already there has been revitalised," he added.
The Supreme Court delivered a historic verdict in 2019, settling a temple-mosque dispute that went over a century back.
The court backed the construction of the Ram temple at the disputed site, and ruled that an alternative five-acre plot must be found for building a mosque.&nbsp;

The Chief Minister sought an explanation from half a dozen concerned officials and also served suspension notices to some of them who have been found guilty, as per a release issued from the Chief Minister's office on Thursday.

The Noida International Airport is coming up in Jewar area of Gautam Buddh Nagar district, some 75 km from Delhi.

The Uttar Pradesh government on December 18 said it has initiated e-auction for institutional plots across five categories near the Noida Airport.
The allocation would be made in the area managed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the government said in a statement.
As part of the recently launched scheme by the YEIDA, the interested parties can apply for plot acquisition until January 1, 2024, with the e-auction process scheduled for completion by February 29, 2024, it added.

The Uttar Pradesh government has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court order quashing its draft notification on the urban local body elections and directing the state to hold the polls without reservation for the Other Backward Classes.
The state government, in its appeal against the December 27 order, has said the high court cannot quash the December 5 draft notification which provided for reservation of seats in the urban body polls for the OBCs apart from those for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and women.
The appeal, filed through advocate on record Ruchira Goel, said the OBCs are a constitutionally protected section and the high court erred in quashing the draft notification.
The Uttar Pradesh government had Wednesday appointed a five-member commission for going into the entire gamut of issues for providing reservation to the OBCs in urban local body polls.
The Lucknow bench of the high court had ordered that the state government should notify the polls "immediately" as the term of several municipalities would end by January 31, while annulling the December 5 draft notification.
The court had directed the state election commission to hold the elections by January 31 after transferring the OBC seats in the draft notification to the general category.

An ex-lover has been arrested in the killing of a woman whose chopped body was found in a well, officials said on Sunday.
Prince Yadav was hit by a bullet in a gunfire encounter with the police on Sunday when he was taken to a spot for the recovery of the head of the woman, police said in a statement.
According to police, Yadav, who was arrested on Saturday, had concealed a country-made pistol at the spot and used it against police in an attempt to flee from their custody.
The incident had come to light on November 15 after some locals found the body inside a well located outside Paschimi village.
The body of the woman, who was later identified as Aradhana, was found in a semi-naked condition, and seemed to be two to three days old, Superintendent of Police (Azamgarh) Anurag Arya had earlier said.
The incident comes in the wake of a similar one reported in Delhi where a 28-year-old man allegedly strangled his live-in partner and sawed her body into 35 pieces which he kept in a 300-litre fridge for almost three weeks at his residence before dumping them across the city over several days.
Yadav with the help of his parents, cousin Sarvesh, and other family members had planned to kill Aradhana, who was stated to be in her mid-20s, out of resentment because she had married someone else and not him.
She lived in Ishaq Pur village of Azamgarh district.
It has so far come to light that Yadav had an affair with the victim, who had got married earlier this year to some other person.
On November 9, Yadav had taken Aradhana on his bike to a temple.
When they reached there, he, with the help of Sarvesh, strangled her in a sugarcane field. The two then cut her body in six parts, packed them in a polythene bag, and threw it into a well, police said.
They threw the head into a pond some distance away.
A sharp-edged weapon, a country-made pistol, and a cartridge have been recovered by police in the case so far.
Sarvesh, Pramila Yadav, Suman, Rajaram, Kalawati, Manju, Sheela, all of whom allegedly helped Yadav in the crime, are still at large.

A purported video of a man lying unconscious on the floor of a government hospital in Uttar Pradesh with his face covered in blood has yet again brought to fore the conditions of public healthcare system in the country.&nbsp;
The video reportedly from a district hospital in Kushinagar shows the man lying on the floor unattended while a dog walks around him.&nbsp;
NDTV quoted the hospital's doctor-in charge SK Varma as saying that the man had received severe head and face injuries in an accident. He added that the man was drunk and fell off the bed multiple times.&nbsp;
NDTV also reported that the doctor and ward boy were attending another patient in a different ward when the video was shot.&nbsp;

UP: 9 booked over alleged forced religious conversion in Meerut

The complaint was filed by a few residents of Mangatapuram Colony.

&nbsp;An FIR was lodged against nine people and a probe ordered following allegations of religious conversion, police said on Saturday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rohit Singh Sajwan said a complaint was received regarding religious conversions and Brahmapuri police station had been asked to investigate the matter.
"On the basis of the preliminary investigation report, a case was registered against nine people, including three women, on Friday. The investigation is going on," the officer said.
The complaint was filed by a few residents of Mangatapuram Colony.
According to the complainants, during COVID-19, some people provided food and financial assistance to the poor living in the area. They alleged that the accused then forced these people to convert to Christianity, the police said.
"Not only this, pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses are also being thrown out by the accused from the houses of the people of Mangatapuram Colony. On protesting or complaining about the incident to anyone, the accused come home with knives and sticks and threaten to kill," according to the complaint.

While there is no mention of how many people have been converted, local BJP leader Deepak Sharma claimed that more than 100 people living from Mangatapuram Colony had allegedly been converted to Christianity.
"This has been going on for the past three years. During the COVID-19 period, the people were given ration and money to convert to Christianity. Now, other people are being threatened to convert as well," Sharma alleged.
The nine persons named in the FIR are Chhabili alias Shiva, Binwa, Anil, Sardar, Nikku, Basant, Prema, Titli and Reena under Section 3, 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Unlawful Conversion Prohibition Act.
Police are yet to make an arrest.

Bus terminals and railway stations choked with an enormous rush of passengers across Uttar Pradesh on Friday and Saturday as lakhs of candidates tried to reach allocated centres in different cities for Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (UPPET).
Several images and videos on social media showed the struggle of candidates who tried to reach their exam centres on time.&nbsp;
Sharing their ordeal, some of the candidates told ANI, "We came from Ghazipur. All the buses and trains were full while we came, and they are full even now. Not many arrangements were made for commuting."
Another student Kritik Raj Singh told the Indian Express that he was dreading the journey from Lucknow to Varanasi on Saturday night.&nbsp;
UPSSSC Chairman Pravir Kumar, told the Indian Express that the movement plan for the particular days was shared well in advance with the railways and state transport corporation. Around 6,500 buses were deployed to manage the extra rush.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) North Railways, Rekha Sharma ordered special trains for the students from Prayagraj to Lucknow and from Ayodhya to several districts, said an ANI report.&nbsp;
However, the efforts to tackle the rush and demands of the candidates seemed to have failed as lakhs struggled and expressed their displeasure with the Transport and Railway departments.&nbsp;
The UP PET exam is held annually. The exam is held to fill the vacancies in the Group B and Group C posts.
