First dose of Covid vaccine has been administered to all people eligible for inoculation, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday while hailing the healthcare and frontline workers who have been at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic.
Taking to Twitter, he shared data on the vaccination drive and wrote that Delhi has completed 100% first dose vaccinate of all 148.33 lakh eligible people. 
Over 2,53,37,557 doses have been administered in the city since the inoculation exercise started on January 16. As many as 1,05,10,011 people have received both doses.

Covaxin&nbsp;has finally got the long awaited verdict from medical journal The Lancet that found that Bharat&nbsp;Biotech&nbsp;developed vaccine has a 77.8% efficacy rate against symptomatic Covid.Covaxin, which uses traditional, inactivated-virus technology, &ldquo;induces a robust antibody response&rdquo; two weeks after two doses are given, The Lancet said in a statement. No severe-vaccine-related deaths or adverse events were recorded during a randomized trial involving 24,419 participants aged 18-97 years between Nov. 2020 and May 2021 in India, the medical journal said.There are however limitations the study cited.&nbsp;The authors of the Covaxin study have noted that the data are preliminary, and more research with a larger sample size is needed.&nbsp;This however comes as a booster to Bharat&nbsp;Biotech&nbsp;who recently received the nod from&nbsp;WHO for emergency use listing (EUL) for the jab which enables those vaccinated with it to be eligible for travel to international such as UK and US.&nbsp;

This price includes the cost of a&nbsp;disposable painless jet applicator&nbsp;which has to be used for administering each dose," an official source said.
"The vaccine in all probability will be given to adults initially because of limited production capacity," the source said.
Zydus Cadila&nbsp;is in a position to provide one crore doses of ZyCoV-D per month, company officials are learnt to have conveyed to the ministry.
For administering to adults, frontline workers and vaccinators will be provided a brief training for using the needle-free pharma jet application in actual field settings.
The three doses of ZyCoV-D are to be administered 28 days apart, with each dose comprising a shot in both arms.

The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on COVID-19 of the Central Drug Authority on October 12&nbsp; had recommended granting emergency use authorisation to Covaxin for children and adolescents in the 2 to 18 years age group with certain conditions.

The research by the Centre for Economic and Social Research (CESR) at the University of Southern California recently published a study in the journal PLOS, that stated that the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine resulted in significant improvements in mental health.

The researchers analysed 8,003 adults who were surveyed at regular intervals between March 10, 2020, and March 31, 2021. It was found that people who got vaccinated between December 2020 and March 2021 reported decreased mental distress levels in the surveys conducted after receiving the first dose.
While the Indian doctors affirm that the study is plausible, however, they also&nbsp;emphasised the lack of a similar study in India, that could confirm a correlation between the Indian vaccines and their impact on mental health.
