Former captain Diana Edulji on Monday became the first Indian woman cricketer to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, joining World Cup-winning Indian and Sri Lankan duo of Virender Sehwag and Aravinda de Silva.
The trio were the latest recipients of the prestigious honour for their stellar achievements during their playing career.
A trailblazer in women's cricket, Edulji made just as big an impact on the field during her playing days as captain of India as she did as an administrator after her playing career.
&ldquo;It indeed is a great honour to be the first Indian Women Cricketer to be inducted and join a galaxy of cricketers, male and female from across the world," the 67-year-old said in an ICC release.
She played 54 matches for India across three decades (between 1976 and 1993) and made her mark as a slow left-arm orthodox spinner taking more than 100 wickets.
Edulji played 20 Tests, scoring 404 runs, and taking 63 wickets at an average of 25.77.
From 34 ODIs, she scored 211 runs, and bagged 46 wickets at an average of 16.84.
But, it is perhaps off the field that Edulji has had an even greater impact, having played a major role as a trailblazer for India&rsquo;s women&rsquo;s cricketers for many decades.
In her role as administrator with Western Railways, Edulji worked hard to increase employment opportunities for talented female cricketers in India, and helped shape the sports policy of Western and Indian Railways.
One of the most destructive batters of the modern era, Sehwag donned India colours between 1999 and 2013.
Sehwag scored a total of 23 Test centuries during his illustrious career -- the fifth most by an India men's player.
His highest score of 319 against South Africa in Chennai in 2008 the best of any Indian player ever.
He accumulated 8,586 runs from 104 Tests at an average of 49.34. He also took 40 wickets during his Test career which spanned from 2001-2013.
But it wasn't just against the red-ball that Sehwag thrived, with the dynamic right-hander just as effective against the white-ball with an equally imposing record at ODI level.
The batter from Delhi, now 45, totalled 8,273 runs for India in 50-over cricket at an average of 35.05 and his 219 against the West Indies in Indore in 2011 remains the third-highest score achieved by a male cricketer in ODI.
He also has 96 wickets in his kitty from the 251 ODIs he played between 1999 and 2013.
Sehwag also played a pivotal role in helping India claim their second World Cup title in 2011, with his 380 runs for the tournament, the seventh-best for any player during the tournament.
In the 19 T20 Internationals he played, Sehwag scored 394 runs at an average of 21.88.
&ldquo;I would like to thank the ICC and the jury for inducting me with this honour," Sehwag said.
&ldquo;I feel extremely grateful for having spent a great part of my life doing what I loved most, &lsquo;hitting the cricket ball&rsquo;," he said.
A key member of Sri Lanka's 1996 World Cup-winning side, De Silva is an icon in the island country.
The consistent right-hander scored 20 Test centuries during a 19-year international career (1984 to 2003) -- the third most hundreds by any Sri Lanka men's player -- and was just as adept against the white-ball with another 11 centuries coming in 50-over cricket.
The most important of those was in the 1996 World Cup final, as de Silva almost single-handedly willed his side over the line against Australia with an unbeaten 107 not out in what was an unforgettable run chase.
A clever batter who always respected the situation of the game, the 58-year-old de Silva was an integral part of Sri Lanka's resurgence at the end of last century.
He accumulated 6,361 runs from 93 Tests at an average of 42.97. From 308 ODIs, he scored 9,284 runs at an average of 34.90 and took 106 wickets.

Sehwag has offered to provide free education to the children who tragically lost their parents in the incident.
The collision, which occurred on June 2 in Balasore, Odisha, involved two express passenger trains and a stationary freight train, resulting in a staggering death toll of at least 275 people, making it one of the deadliest train accidents in the past two decades.
Sehwag wrote on Twitter, &ldquo;In this hour of grief, the least I can do is to take care of education of children of those who lost their life in this tragic accident. I offer such children free education at Sehwag International School&rsquo;s boarding facility.&rdquo;
He further added, "Also salute all the brave men and women who have been at the forefront of the rescue operations and the medical team and volunteers who have been voluntarily donating blood. We are together in this."

Sehwag mentioned that he once did a commercial shoot with both players, but they didn't approach him to talk about cricket during the six hours they spent together.
Speaking to Cricbuzz, Sehwag said, "He (Prithvi Shaw) did an ad shoot with me. He didn't talk to me about cricket for once. We were there for 6 hours. Shubman Gill was also there. Nobody talked to me. If you want to talk to someone then you have to approach them."
Sehwag emphasized that if young players want guidance from senior or legendary players, they need to take the initiative and approach them.
To highlight this point, Sehwag recalled an incident from 2003-04 when he wanted to talk to the legendary Indian player Sunil Gavaskar about cricket.
Back then, Sehwag had expressed his desire to John Wright, the coach at the time, and requested him to arrange a meeting with Gavaskar. Wright organized a dinner where Sehwag, his opening partner Aakash Chopra, and Gavaskar could discuss batting. They had a fruitful conversation, and Sehwag mentioned that they were rewarded for their efforts.
Sehwag emphasized that young players have to take the initiative to approach senior players. They shouldn't expect the senior players to make the effort to approach them.&nbsp;

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma is suffering from a "mental block" and there is no technical problem with his batting, said former India opener Virender Sehwag.

They suffered a six-wicket loss to CSK in their last match after a poor start saw them managing just 139 for eight, a target overhauled by their opponents in 17.4 overs.
Opening the innings, Cameron Green and Ishan Kishan scored just 6 and 7 respectively and former Australia batter Aaron Finch said the Mumbai openers look confused and they should learn from the way CSK's Ruturaj Gaikwad goes about his business.
"MI's opening combination looks confused they are taking a lot of risk. They were looking to hit all the balls. They should learn from Ruturaj Gaikwad, he remains so calm in the middle and hits the loose balls," Finch said.
As Rohit struggles, Virat Kohli is having a stellar run with the bat, having amassed 419 runs so far in the IPL, though his strike rate has been questioned at times.
Hailing his consistent run over the years, former South African spinner Imran Tahir said, "Virat Kohli has always had the urge to score runs.
"You can score maximum runs in one season, two or three seasons, but if you are successful in doing this for 15 consecutive seasons, then it can be attributed to the result of your hard work and dedication.
"What Virat has done in the last 15 years is really commendable.

During a chat with News18 India, Viru claimed that he wouldn&rsquo;t have applied for the post if Virat Kohli and then BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary hadn&rsquo;t approached him.
Revealing details about his meeting with the BCCI officials for the post, Sehwag said that Amitabh Choudhary told him that things weren&rsquo;t working out between Virat and Kumble and the board wanted him to take the coaching position.
'He told me that Kumble&rsquo;s contract will expire after the Champions Trophy in 2017 and then you can travel to West Indies with the team,' Sehwag added.
Kumble was eventually replaced by Ravi Shastri following India's defeat against Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy final.

6 of the 9 ODI double-hundreds have now been scored by Indians, with Rohit Sharma the only cricketer to have reached the 200-run mark more than once. The Indian captain, who is missing from action due to injury, has breached the record landmark on three occasions previously.
So, it was only fitting that Kishan, who replaced the injured Rohit in the XI, converted his maiden ODI hundred into a double ton.
His innings progression was also stunning. While he got to his 100 in 85 deliveries, he took just 41 balls to go from 100 to 200. He bludgeoned 24 fours and 10 sixes during his stay at the crease.
With a total of 126 balls taken for 200, the southpaw also broke Chris Gayle&rsquo;s record for the fastest double ton in the format. The Universe Boss had taken 138 deliveries to reach the milestone against Zimbabwe at the 2015 ODI World Cup.

Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh recently made their India debut and there have been a lot of discussions that which one of these two young pacers would be a good choice for the Indian national side.
