It was an old quilt and now it&rsquo;s a stylish shirt, all thanks to designer Harsh Agarwal who is gaining international fame with his love for local textiles. An economics graduate with no formal fashion training, Agarwal launched&nbsp;Harago&nbsp;in 2019&nbsp;to show that indigenous crafts can&nbsp;be&nbsp;given a new lease using modern aesthetics.&nbsp;
A native of Jaipur, Rajasthan, Agarwal uses his label to upcycle old and used textiles to make&nbsp;transeasonal, unisex garments. An old bedsheet, hand-embroidered by his mother&nbsp;in 1985&nbsp;no less, became a co-ord&nbsp;set for&nbsp;Harago.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Agarwal says he doesn&rsquo;t believe in following trends or mass production. Like many other small independent designers,&nbsp;Harago&nbsp;is part of a broader slow fashion movement that calls for&nbsp;taking the time to&nbsp;appreciate&nbsp;clothes and shun impulse buying.&nbsp;
Harago&rsquo;s&nbsp;effortless silhouettes merge the lines between loungewear and daywear, and all made using natural, vintage or upcycled textiles&nbsp;collected from friends and family.&nbsp;
