With four days remaining for the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday launched a dedicated webpage to provide weather-related information for Ayodhya and important nearby areas.
The webpage contains information on all weather parameters, including temperature, precipitation, humidity, and wind patterns in major languages spoken worldwide, such as Hindi, English, Urdu, Chinese, French, and Spanish.
Weather information for Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Lucknow, and New Delhi, among other important places, is available on the webpage.
A weather bulletin containing a seven-day forecast and sunrise and sunset timings will also be available to users in both Hindi and English.
The consecration ceremony of the idol of Ram Lalla at the Ram temple in Ayodhya will take place on January 22.

Cyclone Biparjoy has started making landfall near Jakhau Port in Gujarat's Kutch district after churning across the Arabian Sea for over 10 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Thursday evening. Winds of up to 145 kmph and heavy rains battered Kutch and Saurashtra coasts as agencies remain on high alert.
The landfall process will be completed by midnight.
Authorities have evacuated around one lakh people living in vulnerable areas following a prompt warning from the IMD about the "extensive damaging potential" of the cyclone.
Officials said 15 NDRF teams, 12 teams of the State Disaster Response Force and personnel of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Indian Coast Guard and Border Security Force have been deployed for relief and rescue operations.
The Met office had earlier warned of very heavy (11.5 cm to 20.4 cm) to extremely heavy rainfall (over 20.5 cm) in Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi and Junagarh districts.
"We won't be surprised if some areas record more than 25 cm of rainfall. Usually, they do not receive such intense precipitation at this time of the year. Therefore, there is a risk of flooding in the low-lying areas," IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra had cautioned.
Meteorologists had warned of extensive damage to standing crops, houses, roads, electricity and communication poles, and flooding of escape routes.
Hugh tides could inundate low-lying areas of Saurashtra and Kutch coasts, they said.&nbsp;

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned fishermen not to venture into southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas from Sunday onwards in view of the likely formation of a cyclonic storm.
Fishermen, small ships, boats and trawlers are advised not to venture into southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas from May 7 onwards and into adjoining central Bay of Bengal from May 9 onwards, said HR Biswas, Head &amp; Scientist, MeT centre, Bhubaneswar.
In association with likely formation of a cyclonic storm, squally weather with wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to prevail over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Andaman sea from May 7 and wind speed will gradually increase further over the areas, he said.
In regard to information for tourist and travellers for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the IMD said that bad weather condition like squally weather and heavy rainfall activity is likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during May 8-11 and advised to regulate tourism and offshore activities and shipping over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during May 8-11.
Meanwhile, the IMD in its Tropical Weather Outlook issued on Thursday said that IMD-GFS weather model indicates that the system may move towards the Bangladesh-Myanmar coast and intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm category.

The relative humidity oscillated between 50 per cent and 95 per cent.
The weather department has predicted shallow fog for Monday morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 32 and 12 degrees Celsius, respectively.
At 6 pm, the 24-hour air quality index (AQI) in the national capital stood at 332, under the 'very poor' category.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.

It&rsquo;s a scene that repeats itself every year when India&rsquo;s capital experiences a harsh winter, blamed for killing scores of homeless people and leaving tens of thousands of others shivering on the streets.
Recently, New Delhi recorded a low of 5.5 degrees Celsius (41.9 Fahrenheit), with India&rsquo;s weather forecasting agency warning of a severe cold wave from Monday.
The piercing chill is an ordeal for the city&rsquo;s homeless, who curl their bodies on sidewalks and sleep as the traffic goes by. Even though the city&rsquo;s night shelters are a refuge to many who would otherwise find themselves sleeping near busy roundabouts and underpasses, most people there live in harsh conditions.
Many of the night shelters are overcrowded and have unclean toilets and no water.
India&rsquo;s 2011 census figures show about 47,000 of the city&rsquo;s residents were homeless.
Activists say that number is a vast underestimate and that New Delhi has more than 150,000 without permanent residences to sleep in.
Official figures also show the city&rsquo;s 195 homeless shelters can accommodate only about 19,000 people, leaving tens of thousands struggling to keep warm.

At least 21 trains to Delhi were delayed by one-and-a-half to five hours due to the foggy weather, a Railways spokesperson said.
An official at the international airport here said five flights were diverted to Jaipur on Monday night due to bad weather in Delhi.
The Safdarjung observatory, Delhi's primary weather station, recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal.
The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 17 degrees Celsius.
Moderate to dense fog is predicted in Delhi for the next two days. Coldwave conditions are set to return on the weekend and the mercury may drop to 4 degrees Celsius.
In a statement, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said dense to very dense fog and cold day conditions were very likely to continue over northwest India during the next four to five days.

"Coldwave conditions are likely to continue over northwest India during the next three days" and the intensity will decrease thereafter, it said.
According to the IMD, 'very dense' fog is when visibility is between 0 and 50 metres, 51 and 200 metres is 'dense', 201 and 500 metres 'moderate', and 501 and 1,000 metres 'shallow'.
In the plains, the Met office declares a cold wave if the minimum temperature dips to four degrees Celsius or when the minimum temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or below and is 4.5 notches below normal.
A severe cold wave is when the minimum temperature dips to two degrees Celsius or the departure from the normal is more than 6.4 degrees Celsius.
A cold day is when the minimum temperature is less than or equal to 10 degrees Celsius below the normal and the maximum temperature is at least 4.5 degrees Celsius below the normal. A severe cold day is when the maximum is 6.5 degrees Celsius or more below the normal.

Puducherry CM N Rangasamy reviewed the preparations ahead of cyclone arrival in the union territory where moderate to heavy rains have been witnessed throughout the day.
While heavy rains were witnessed in several areas of Andhra Pradesh including Tirumala, Tirupati&nbsp;

The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert, warning of thundershowers and gusty winds towards Wednesday afternoon or evening in the national capital.
The Safdarjung Observatory, the city's base station, recorded a minimum temperature of 29.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal. The maximum temperature is predicted to settle around 40 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, a cloud cover had cocooned Delhi, causing the maximum temperature at the Safdarjung Observatory to drop below 40 degrees Celsius for the first time this month.
Consecutive western disturbances and lower-level easterlies predicted in the coming days are likely to keep the heat at bay.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert, warning of thundershowers or light rain over the next six days. The mercury is predicted to drop to 35 degrees Celsius by Sunday.
Since June 1, when the monsoon season starts, the national capital has not recorded any rainfall. Usually, it receives 13.8 mm of rainfall in the first 13 days of the month.
Mahesh Palawat, vice-president (climate change and meteorology), Skymet Weather, said the monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi around the usual date -- June 27 -- or a day or two in advance.
Last year, the IMD had forecast that the monsoon would arrive in Delhi nearly two weeks before its usual date. However, it reached the capital only on July 13, making it the most delayed in 19 years.
Palawat said there is a very slim chance of heatwave conditions returning to Delhi now. The weather will become clear after June 21 and dry westerly winds will commence but a steep rise in temperature is not predicted.
The capital has recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius and above on 26 days so far this summer season, the highest number of such days since 2012, according to IMD data.
In 2012, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius or above on 30 days. The number of such days was 35 in 2010, the highest in the 1951-2022 period, the data showed.
The city has seen six heatwave spells this summer, the deadliest being in mid-May when the maximum temperature soared to 49 degrees Celsius at some places.
The latest heatwave spell began on June 2 amid the absence of strong western disturbances and an onslaught of hot and dry westerly winds.

The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert, warning of thundershowers and gusty winds towards Wednesday afternoon or evening in the national capital.
The Safdarjung Observatory, the city's base station, recorded a minimum temperature of 29.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal. The maximum temperature is predicted to settle around 40 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, a cloud cover had cocooned Delhi, causing the maximum temperature at the Safdarjung Observatory to drop below 40 degrees Celsius for the first time this month.
Consecutive western disturbances and lower-level easterlies predicted in the coming days are likely to keep the heat at bay.

Mahesh Palawat, vice-president (climate change and meteorology), Skymet Weather, said the monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi around the usual date -- June 27 -- or a day or two in advance.
Last year, the IMD had forecast that the monsoon would arrive in Delhi nearly two weeks before its usual date. However, it reached the capital only on July 13, making it the most delayed in 19 years.
Palawat said there is a very slim chance of heatwave conditions returning to Delhi now. The weather will become clear after June 21 and dry westerly winds will commence but a steep rise in temperature is not predicted.
The capital has recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius and above on 26 days so far this summer season, the highest number of such days since 2012, according to IMD data.
In 2012, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius or above on 30 days. The number of such days was 35 in 2010, the highest in the 1951-2022 period, the data showed.
The city has seen six heatwave spells this summer, the deadliest being in mid-May when the maximum temperature soared to 49 degrees Celsius at some places.
The latest heatwave spell began on June 2 amid the absence of strong western disturbances and an onslaught of hot and dry westerly winds.&nbsp;

Nights would be warmer in May in most parts of the country, except some regions of south peninsular India. 
Speaking about rainfall, India Meteorological Department's Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said that the average rainfall in May 2022 over the country is most likely to be above normal but parts of northwest and northeast India as well as the extreme southeast Peninsula are expected to get below normal rainfall.
The high temperatures in March and April were attributed to 'continuously scanty rainfall activity', he said.

A senior IMD official said Delhi registered 69.8 mm of rainfall by 9.30 pm on Saturday.
It is the highest since January 1989 when the capital received 79.7 mm rainfall, he said.
According to the IMD, rain on Saturday brought down the maximum temperature to 14.7 degrees Celsius, seven notches below the average and also the lowest for the season so far.
