Farmers are distressed, and election will be discussed with them, Tikait said. He said he is not going to West Bengal to seek votes. Replying to a query if he would meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tikait said there was no such programme.

The prime minister is expected to hold 2 rallies before each of the 8 phases in West Bengal, the Hindustan Times has reported. The first rally will be held in Kolkata on March 7.
He is also expected to hold six rallies in Assam, which will vote in 3 phases, and Kerala, Tamil Nadu&nbsp;and Puducherry. <a href="https://www.editorji.com/story/poll-dates-out-for-bengal-tn-kerala-assam-puducherry-results-on-may-2-1614346682127" target="_blank" >Assembly elections</a> in the three southern states will be held in a single phase on April 6.
