The CID had moved the First Fast Track Court seeking permission for arrest since the former Karnataka CM failed to appear for questioning.

Karnataka High Court on Friday restrained Criminal Investigation Department (CID) from arresting former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in connection with a POCSO case registered against him.
It also directed the veteran BJP leader to appear before CID, which is probing the case, on June 17.
A Bengaluru court on Thursday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Yediyurappa in the case registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on March 14 this year.
The Special Investigation Team of the CID had moved the First Fast Track Court seeking an arrest warrant against him since he failed to appear for questioning on Wednesday.
Yediyurappa had sought time to join the probe.
According to reports, the veteran BJP leader has gone to an &ldquo;undisclosed&rdquo; location in New Delhi.
According to police, Yediyurappa has been booked under the POCSO Act and Section 354 A (Sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on a complaint by the mother of a 17-year-old girl who alleged that he molested her daughter during a meeting on February two this year, at his residence in Dollars Colony here.&nbsp;

As Karnataka struggles to procure vaccines, the state&rsquo;s&nbsp;Congress Committee chief DK Shivakumar appealed that the Centre allow his party to directly approach vaccine makers across the world.
Karnataka has suspended vaccination for 18-44 years age group from May 14 due to vaccine shortage. The state recently floated global tenders for jobs with regard to local manufacturing. Calling out the state for its tardiness, Shivakumar appealed the Centre and the state government to not only let Congress directly procure vaccines but also run inoculation drives.
The Congress leader shared his party&rsquo;s 100 crore plan saying the state unit has strategised to finance a drive with 90 crore from Congress MLA/MLC funds and 10 crore from the state unit&rsquo;s fund. The plan is to further raise money from public donations and administer jabs by parterning with hospitals and clinics. Shivakumar dared that his party could launch and run a successful drive better than the Modi-Yediyurappa government.
The Congress chief has also demanded that the Centre bear the entire cost of the national drive, owning to the financial burden that the states are facing due to the lockdowns.

After meeting with ministers, health experts and senior officials of the state government in Bengaluru, Yediyurappa said no rallies and protests will be allowed in the state for the next 15 days amid surge in coronavirus cases. He said the number of election rallies "will need to be dropped" to contain the Covid situation in the city. He however ruled out lockdown in the state.
