Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday made serious allegations against the Congress and said the grand old party has in its election manifesto expressed its intention to implement the 'Sharia law' in the country and redistribute people's property.
Addressing an election rally in Amroha, Adityanath said, "The Congress and its allies have betrayed the country and have once again come to you with their false manifesto. If you look at the Congress' manifesto, they say that if they form a government, we will implement the Sharia law." "You tell me, will this country be run by the Constitution made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar or by Shariat?" he asked.

&ldquo;Congress people talk in their manifesto that they will implement 'vyaktigat kanoon' (personal laws). That means Sharia law will be implemented because Modi ji stopped the practice of triple talaq," Adityanath said.
"They say that we will again restore personal law. These people will implement Sharia law...," he added.
Escalating his attack, Adityanath alleged, "The Congress manifesto says that they will take people's property and distribute it. Do you want to allow the Congress and Samajwadi Party to loot your property?" "Look at the condition of these shameless people. On one hand, they are eying on your property and on the other hand they are making the mafia and criminals their necklace and reciting Fatiha in their name," he added.
Referring to a comment made by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in 2006, Adityanath said, "When Dr Manmohan Singh ji was the Prime Minister, he had said that Muslims have the first right on the country's resources..."
"So where will our Dalits, backward classes, Kharagvanshis, Pals, poor and farmers go? Where will the mothers and sisters go, where will the youth go?" he asked.
The chief minister claimed that terrorism has been finished in India during the tenure of the Modi government.
"There was an atmosphere of fear and terror in the country 10 years ago, people were afraid. After 2014, terrorism was controlled and by 2019, Modi ji did such a thing that the root of terrorism Jammu Kashmir's Article 370 was abolished. Today terrorism has been destroyed in India," he said.
Adityanath claimed that now whenever there is a loud burst of firecrackers somewhere, Pakistan clarifies that it has no involvement.
"Pakistan is afraid that even by mistake, a terrorist incident takes place in India and some innocent citizen is killed, they will have to face consequences," he said.
Amroha will go to polls in the second phase on April 26.&nbsp;

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath on Monday offered the sacred pot of faith to Shivavatar Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath at 4:00 am as per the special tradition of Nathpanth on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
After Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the Gorakhnath Temple, khichdi was offered by the Nepal Dynasty and, then, Nath Yogis and saints. Consequently, the doors of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple were opened to the general public. Lakhs of devotees thronged the temple to offer khichdi and prayers.

Police on December 31 arrested three people in an alleged gang-raped inside the IIT-BHU campus.

Two months after a woman student was allegedly gang-raped inside the IIT-BHU campus here, police have arrested three men in connection with the incident, officials said on Sunday.
Following the arrests, opposition parties hit out at the BJP government alleging that the accused persons are linked to the ruling party.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) demanded that police file a charge sheet in the case at the earliest and take action against those who protected the accused for two months.
The incident took place on the night of November 1. Following the incident, hundreds of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) students had held a protest on the campus and demanded that the entry of outsiders be banned.
According to the complainant, she had gone out of her hostel with a friend on the night of November 1. They were near the Karman Baba temple when three men came there on a motorcycle, forcibly took her to a corner and gagged her after separating her from her friend.
The accused then allegedly stripped the woman, made a video of her and clicked photos. They let her go after about 15 minutes and took her phone number, the complainant stated.
On the basis of the complaint, an FIR was registered under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and under provisions of the Information Technology Act at Lanka police station.
Subsequently, the charge of gangrape was added to the FIR, police said. Three people -- Kunal Pandey, Anand alias Abhishek Chauhan, and Saksham Patel -- have been arrested in the case, said Shivakant Mishra, Station House Officer, Lanka police station.
Opposition parties targeted the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government over the law and order situation in the state and alleged that those arrested in the case have links with the ruling BJP.
"For the BJP, 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' is just a slogan. I had said at that time that BJP people are involved in this matter," Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai said in a post on X.
"The person who gang-raped an IIT BHU student is none other than BJP's Kunal Pandey, convener of Mahanagar IT cell, and Saksham Patel, who is the PA of Dilip Patel (Kashi zone president of the BJP). This is the evil face of BJP. Shameful," the Congress leader said in another post.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said in a post on X that those arrested for gang-raping the woman student are part of a new crop of BJP workers thriving under the patronage of senior leaders.
The government had to get them arrested due to the solid evidence in the case and the growing public anger, he said.
"Every woman across the country is seeing how the BJP is playing with women's dignity and protecting those accused of atrocities, harassment and rape. Women will not give even a single vote to the BJP in the upcoming elections. Women will be the reason for the BJP's defeat.
"The truth of the BJP is before the public today. The public will give its verdict by defeating the BJP in the upcoming elections and do justice to women," he said. The Samajwadi Party, in a post on X, said sisters and daughters are unsafe in the state and BJP people are the only threat.
The party demanded the strictest punishment for the culprits.
In a statement, ABVP state media coordinator Abhinav Mishra demanded that police file a charge-sheet in the case at the earliest and also take action against those who protected the accused for two months.
The ABVP also called on the BHU administration to take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of everyone on the campus.

Earlier, The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Tuesday quashed the state government's notification on urban local body elections and ordered holding the polls without reservation for the Other Backward Classes.
The two judge bench which was hearing a bunch of PILs challenging the preparation of the OBC reservation draft, annulled the December 5 notification issued by the Adityanath government saying OBC reservations cannot be notified till conditions laid down by the SC were fulfilled.
The Court also rejected UP govt's rapid OBC survey.&nbsp;

In elections, every vote counts. Well, cows can't vote, but they certainly can win some. Or at least, Yogi government believes so.
It&rsquo;s not really news that the Uttar Pradesh government has a soft spot for the bovine community. And it certainly isn&rsquo;t a COW-incidence that enormous measures have been undertaken by the current UP government to ensure the welfare of this beloved species. Here&rsquo;s a look at all that has happened for cows and cattle in the last 5 years of the Yogi raj.
In 2018, the state allocated Rs 233 crore for the welfare of cow and dairy development and set aside a Rs 20 million fund for setting up cow shelters in 12 district jails across the state.&nbsp;In 2019, it further allocated Rs 600 crore towards cow welfare and imposed an additional cess on wine and beer in the state, additional revenue from which would go towards upliftment of cattle.&nbsp;In the 2021 supplementary budget ₹ 300 crore has been provided for maintenance of animals of the cow family.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
 According to official data, there are over 5,268 cow protection centers which have close to 6 lakh cattle. The fodder bank model, developed by the state government, is ensuring timely fodder through 3452 Fodder Banks which are feeding lakhs of stray cattle in UP. The state government also has a provision of giving financial assistance of Rs 900 per month to every farmer taking care of stray cattle.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
 In view of the Covid situation, a total of 700 help desks for the welfare of cows have been set up across the districts of Uttar Pradesh. In November 2021, the state government announced that it&rsquo;s starting an ambulance service for cows.&nbsp;
The Yogi Adityanath government has shut down 150 illegal slaughterhouses and identified 356 cattle traffickers as part of its efforts to protect cows and combat smuggling.&nbsp;
 And it&rsquo;s not just the elected government that&rsquo;s deeply concerned. The Allahabad High Court in 2021, while denying bail to a person accused of cow slaughter said that protection of cows is a fundamental right for Hindus and the cow should be the country&rsquo;s national animal. In 2020, up until August the UP Police had invoked the NSA against 139 people in the state, six people in connection with crimes against women, 37 for heinous crimes and 76 for cow slaughter
The opposition too has used cattle welfare as a major poll point in their campaign strategy - with both Priyanka Gandhi Vadra of the Congress and Akhilesh Yadav of SP claiming that UP has top position in the number of cows buried alive.&nbsp;
The focus towards cows makes one wonder what would happen if they showed up to the polling station on voting day - however for now, it&rsquo;s just us two legged animals!

According to sources, Adityanath also talked to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav over the phone and expressed his condolences.
Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, assembly speaker Satish Mahana, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, and senior BJP leaders also condoled the death of Yadav.
"The news of the death of the senior SP leader and former Chief Minister is saddening. I express my sympathies to the family members and well-wishers of the leader. May God give them strength to face the grief," Mayawati said in a tweet in Hindi.
