Launching on September 30 with the 'Zomato Feeding India Concert,' this 'Book Now, Sell Anytime' feature makes it easy to offload your tickets if your plans change. &ldquo;If their plans change for any reason, they can list their ticket on the Zomato app for a price lower or higher than their original purchase price (capped at 2x of the current phase price live on the ticketing platform),&rdquo; Zomato Live Entertainment CEO Zeenah Vilcassim wrote in a blog post.
&ldquo;The seller will get the full value of their listed price transferred to their preferred payment method (subject to applicable taxes),&rdquo; she added. Launched in 2022 with no minimum order value, 'Legends' later introduced a 5,000 rupees minimum order to stay viable. However, the service failed to make business sense for the company.

Food delivery giant Zomato in a statement to the exchanges said that it is in discussion to acquire Paytm's movie ticketing and events business. This comes after media reports suggested that negotiations over a Rs 1,500-crore deal between One97 Communications Ltd, the parent company of Paytm, and Zomato were in advanced stages.
"We acknowledge that we are in discussions with Paytm for the transaction, however, no binding decision has been taken at this stage that would warrant a Board approval and subsequent disclosure in accordance with applicable law," Zomato said in the statement.

Zomato further in the statement mentioned that this move aligns with it's plan to expand its 'going out' offerings. "The discussion is being undertaken with an intent to further strengthen our going-out business and is in line with our stated position of focusing only on our four key businesses," the company said.
The deal is beneficial to Zomato as it would complement its broader aim of capturing consumer demand across various categories, including food, grocery, and entertainment. Meanwhile, this successful sale would enable Paytm to concentrate on travel, deals, and cashback&mdash;sectors crucial for expanding its merchant base and boosting overall sales.

To begin with, we have started suggesting roti as an alternative to a naan. We are seeing 7% attach rate for these suggestions, and we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback for this feature. We are soon planning to scale this to other dishes and categories as well. Food delivery platform Zomato has hiked its platform fee by 25% to Rs 5 and has also suspended &nbsp;its inter-city food delivery service called Intercity Legends. However, this hike is effective only in some cities.
This comes weeks before Zomato is expected to release its March quarter financial results.
<h3>Zomato platform fee hiked</h3>
Zomato introduced the platform fee of Rs 2 for the first time in August 2023, as it was looking to boost its margins and become profitable. Subsequently it hiked the fees further to Rs 3 and then to Rs 4 on January 1. On December 31, it temporarily hiked the fees to Rs 9.
Moneycontrol quoted analysts and said that &nbsp;the platform fee hike would partially offset the impact of GST on delivery charges as the company's share price reacted positively to the development in January.
An increase of Rs 1 in the platform fee across all geographies could lead to a positive impact of Rs 85-90 crore on EBITDA as Zomato caters about 85-90 crore orders annually. This will be 5% increase on EBITDA.
<h3>Intercity Legends service</h3>
Zomato has also suspended its &nbsp;Intercity Legends service that delivered orders from top restaurants in major cities to customers in other cities. The Intercity tab in Zomato app says, "Enhancements are underway. Please stay tuned as we will be back to serve you soon".
Zomato's stock prices have seen an upward trend due to its rising profitability in its core business and the fast growth of its quick commerce arm, Blinkit. In the December quarter, Zomato's food delivery business reported a 30% on-year increase in adjusted revenue, reaching Rs 2,025 crore on a consolidated basis. Blinkit doubled its revenue to Rs 644 crore during the period.

This also comes at a time when the company is looking to expand its business in various use cases of food delivery. In an interview with the Economic Times,&nbsp; Goyal disclosed that the decision stemmed from extensive market research, revealing that a significant majority of respondents, particularly those over 50 years old, expressed a strong preference for vegetarian-only options.
The move was framed by Goyal as a response to customer demand driven primarily by spiritual considerations rather than religious or caste-related factors. Goyal emphasized that the decision was not made lightly, citing a survey of 1,600 individuals wherein 72% expressed a desire for veg-only delivery services.
However, the rollout faced unexpected resistance, prompting Zomato to swiftly rebrand the service as "veg only" and abandon the "green branding" initially associated with the fleet. Despite positive reactions from 80% of respondents, Goyal acknowledged that the negative feedback necessitated prompt action.
Goyal clarified that the timing of the launch was not influenced by external factors such as elections or festivals, dismissing speculation and asserting that the controversy would have emerged regardless.
Highlighting customer preferences and safety concerns, Goyal revealed that approximately 25% of Zomato's customers are vegetarian, with vegetarian orders constituting 65% of overall orders due to the common practice of non-vegetarians ordering vegetarian dishes. He also addressed safety apprehensions raised by some customers regarding non-vegetarian food deliveries potentially jeopardizing riders' safety in certain areas.
Regarding the possibility of extending the vegetarian fleet to Blinkit, another platform owned by Zomato, Goyal indicated that decisions would be made at the discretion of Blinkit's leadership, suggesting that outcomes observed might influence future actions.

Hours after announcing the launch of the "Pure Veg Mode" service and a separate fleet for it using green uniforms, Zomato has decided to remove the on-ground segregation of this fleet. The company's CEO, Deepinder Goyal, has said that the fleet catering to vegetarians will continue to wear the regular red-coloured Zomato uniform.
Earlier, the Zomato CEO had also promised to "roll back" the pure veg mode if the company saw "any significant negative social repercussions of the change."
Dumping the green uniform plan
Taking to social media platform X, Deepinder Goyal explained why the company has junked the plan to use green uniform. He said the decision means that the fleet meant for vegetarian orders will not be identifiable on the ground, even though the Zomato app will show that your veg orders will be served by the veg only fleet.
This, Deepinder Goyal added, will ensure that the company&rsquo;s red uniform delivery partners are not incorrectly associated with non-veg food, and blocked by any RWAs or societies during any special days. He also said that physical safety of Zomato riders was of &ldquo;paramount importance&rdquo; to the company.
Problems with landlords
The other reason that the Zomato CEO gave for withdrawing the green uniform plan is to help customers who are tenants. He said the company has realised that some of its customers could get into trouble with their landlords based on their dietary preferences. This, Goyal said, &ldquo;would not be a nice thing if that happened because of us.&rdquo;
Brickbats are useful: Goyal
While making the announcement regarding green uniform, Zomato CEO also thanked users for talking about the new service. He said that the conversation made Zomato understand the unintended consequences of the rollout and added, &ldquo;All the love, and all the brickbats were all so useful - and helped us get to this optimal point.&rdquo;
Will drop &lsquo;Pure Veg&rsquo; service, if&hellip;
Within a couple of hours after announcing its &ldquo;Pure Veg Mode&rdquo;, the Zomato CEO had also promised to "roll back" the service if the company saw "any significant negative social repercussions of the change."
In a post of social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Zomato CEO said, &ldquo;There's an opinion that some societies and RWAs will now not let our regular fleet in. We will stay alert for any such cases and work with these RWAs to not let this happen.&rdquo;
"We understand our social responsibility due to this change, and we will not back down from solving it when the need arises," he said. In addition to curating vegetarian-only options, orders placed through Pure Veg Mode will be handled by Zomato&rsquo;s newly formed Pure Veg Fleet.

Zomato Ltd shares are likely to be in the spotlight on Wednesday following reports indicating that shareholder Antfin Singapore Holdings, an affiliate of Chinese Ant Group, is considering selling up to 2% stake or 17.64 crore shares in Zomato for 2,800 crore rupees through a block deal.
 According to sources cited by CNBC-Awaaz, the floor price for the block deal has been set at 159.40 rupees per share, representing a 4% discount to Zomato's current market price. Shares of the food delivery platform hit a record high on Monday, as improving profitability paved the way for future growth, triggering a turnaround in investor sentiment.
Zomato third quarter results
Last week, Zomato Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 138 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2023, on the back of accelerated growth of quick commerce and steady performance of its core business.
The company had posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 347 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Zomato Ltd said in a regulatory filing.
Consolidated revenue from operations stood at Rs 3,288 crore. It was at Rs 1,948 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
