92 'naked' migrants found at Greek border, Turkey denies involvement; UN calls for probe

United Nation refugee agency has called for a probe after 92 migrants were found stripped naked and some even with injuries close to Greece’s northern border with Turkey last Friday, according to a BBC report.

As per the report, the two countries have blamed each other for the plight of 92 migrants.

Greece has held Turkey at fault saying its "behaviour" was a "shame for civilisation", Turkey has branded Greece’s claim as "fake news" and accused it of "cruelty".

As both sides blamed each other, the refugee agency said that it was "deeply distressed by the shocking reports and images".

Quoting the Greek police, BBC report said an investigation by them and officials from the EU border agency Frontex, found evidence that the migrants crossed the Evros river into Greek territory in rubber dinghies from Turkey.

Greek authorities said the men were immediately given clothing, food and first aid. However, it was not clear how and why the men had lost their clothes, it added

Meanwhile, disputes between both the governments reached the highest level with ministers from Greece and Turkey slammed each other on Twitter and television broadcasts.
