After ten years, Facebook and Instagram are lifting ban on bare breasts, but only for some users: Reports

Meta that owns Facebook and Instagram will soon allow some users to post bare-chested pictures on the social media platforms.

According to media reports, Facebook and Instagram will soon allow transgender and non-binary users to post their bare-chested pictures on the social media platforms.

The ban however, would continue to prohibit women from posting their bare breasts images.

The decision was taken after Meta's independent Oversight Board on 17 January called the ban discriminatory and recommended a review on the ban.

The announcement has come 10 years after the ban was imposed on Facebook, which has primarily prohibited women from posting their bare breasts images.

Meta now has 60 days to review the board's recommendations.
