Ice cream truck injures 29 kids in Kyrgyzstan as driver 'forgets to put handbrake' | Watch

An out-of-control ice cream truck crashed into a group of children in Kyrgyzstan on May 2 during a cultural festival in a mountainous area. Local media reported that at least 29 children and one adult were injured. Four of the victims suffered fractures.

The incident happened when thousands of people gathered near the village of Jerge-Tal for an event dedicated to a 19th century Kyrgyz poem 'The Epic of Manas'.

People, including many children, were sitting on the grass on the side of a hill with some holding the flag of the country, when suddenly a parked vehicle began rolling down the hill and hit multiple people.

The driver was arrested. During the investigation, he said he forgot to put the handbrake and was talking on the phone when he noticed the truck moving.
