According to an Australian media  In The Cove report a 28-year-old man was arrested for the attack and has been charged with attempted murder.

In yet another shocking case a of possible racial attack, an Indian student was stabbed multiple times in Sydney's Lane Cove in Australia.

The 28-year-old student identified as Shubham Garg, from Uttar Pradesh's Agra was stabbed atleast 11 times by the unknown attacker. Garg received life threatning wounds on face, chest and abdomen, according to Hindustan Times report.

Quoting family, the report said, the incident took place in the first week of October. His family has now sought help from the government on social media after failed attempts to visit Garg in Australia.

Kavya Garg who claims to be the sister of the 28-year-old student has sought urgent help in obtaining emergency visa from Prime minister Narendra Modi, UP CM Yog Adityanath and external affairs minister S Jaishankar by tagging them on social media.

"My brother is going through multiple operations and doctor said that infection is spreading in body. Requesting @narendramodi for urgent help on this matter," Kavya Garg tweeted on Thursday.

According to an Australian media In The Cove report a 28-year-old man was arrested for the attack and has been charged with attempted murder.

The report also said that Garg has undergone multiple surgeries due to gruesome attack and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Manish Tewari has urging Jaishankar for help. Famous Austrailian doctor of Indian-orgin Yadu Singh also reached out to Australia's High Commissioner to India.
