Israel shows this photo of Al Jazeera journalist to claim he's Hamas commander

The Israeli Army on February 11 has claimed that a Palestinian journalist of Al Jazeera is a senior commander in Hamas's military wing. The Israel Defence Forces also shared pictures and documents recovered by it in the Gaza Strip.

The Arabic-language spokesperson of the IDF, Lieutenant Colonel Avichay Adrae, said that the evidence was retrieved from a laptop that belonged to a journalist Muhammad Wishah.

By tagging the news agency in a post on X, Adrae said, "In the morning, a journalist on the Al-Jazeera channel, and in the evening, a terrorist in Hamas!"

Explaining the allegations, Adrae said, "During an activity by our forces several weeks ago inside one of the Hamas camps in the northern Gaza Strip, a mobile computer belonging to a person named Muhammad Samir Muhammad Wishah, born in 1986 from Bureij, was seized. It is clear from the documents that Muhammad Wishah is a prominent commander in the anti-armor missile system in the wing of the Hamas military. At the end of 2022, he moved to work in the field of research and development in the Hamas Air Force."

He further said, "Who knows how many details we will reveal about the presence of other terrorists in journalistic garb in the near future."

On February 12, IDF shared the post of Adrae and tagged Al-Jazeera saying, "Hey Al-Jazeera, we thought your journalists were supposed to give unbiased reports on situations, not actively participate in creating them on the front lines as Hamas terrorists."
