'Missing': 50 ministers of Imran Khan's party not seen in public amid no-trust vote crisis, say reports

Amid political turmoil in Pakistan, at least 50 ministers belonging to Prime Minister Imran Khan's party have disappeared from public view, as per reports. The 'missing ministers' include both federal and provincial ministers, advisors and special assistants, as per Pakistani media reports.

The development comes amid a no-confidence motion moved in the National Assembly by a united Opposition. However, many of Imran Khan's ministers at the federal level continue to defend the Prime Minister. These reportedly include Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar, Minister of Defence Pervez Khattak and Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed.

What is worrying Imran Khan is discontentment among allies. Pakistani media reported that Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is holding talks with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).

The no-confidence motion will be taken up for discussion on March 28, following an adjournment.
