A new drug has wreaked havoc in several cities of the United States for its Zombie effect.

According to New York Post, Xylazine or “tranq” has deadly symptoms including skin rotting.

Now infamous as Zombie drug, Xylazine has been approved by America's Food and Drug Administration to treat animals.

However lately, it has also been discovered in fentanyl which is an opiate used in medicines to reduce severe pain in humans, as per the NY Post report.

Particularly in Philadelphia, which is considered the epicentre of America's opioid crisis, Xylazine is being sold on the streets. People here have been found in an abnormally sub-conscious state allegedly after overdose of fentanyl.

Several purported videos show people behaving obnoxiously with some appearing to sleepwalking.

Xylazine is generally used as a sedative in horses and cows. However, with repeated exposure or overdose, it results in respiratory depression, excessive tiredness and severe wounds, which can develop into dead skin and may lead to amputation.
