Taliban warns Pakistan: 'don't test patience of Afghans'

The Afghan-Pakistan diplomatic tango took a turn after Taliban alleged airstrikes by its 'brotherly' country. The airstrikes in Kunar and Khost provinces last week, which resulted in the death of 36, including 20 children, was carried out by Pakistan, Taliban officials allege.

Pakistan in yet to confirm its involvement in the attacks.

Taliban officials issued a stern warning to Pakistan and said that while they have tolerated this attack, they won't tolerate invasion. The Taliban official also said that they are willing to overlook this attack in national interest but won't the next time around.

Pakistan's foreign office spokesperson said that both the countries regard terrorism a serious threat and both have suffered at its hands for a long time. He added that there was a need for cross border cooperation to counter terrorism.

Since the Taliban took over in August 2021, many standoffs along the border of the two countries have been reported.
