German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was flanked by two topless protesters on Sunday during a Federal Government Open Day in the garden of the chancellery in Berlin.

Scholz had allowed himself to be photographed with visitors after a civil dialogue - during which two women stepped up and removed their tops.

The semi-nude activists demanded for a "gas embargo now" and had the same message written on their skin.

Security guards immediately intervened and led the women away.

After they were removed Scholz continued to pose for photos with other visitors.
