Ukriane War: Zelenskyy blasts Russia for deploying mines on medical supply roads

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said instead of an agreement on humanitarian corridors, what Ukraine got on Monday was “Russian tanks, Russian Grad rockets, Russian mines.”

He accused Russia of deploying mines on the roads that were the agreed routes for taking "food and medicine to the people, to the children, of Mariupol”.

Zelenskyy delivered his daily video address close to midnight sitting behind the ornate desk in his presidential office, in a visual proof that he remains in Kyiv.

During talks on Monday, the Russians proposed evacuation routes leading to Russia and its ally Belarus, rather than to areas of western Ukraine that remain peaceful.

Calling it "cynicism,” Zelenskyy said by opening a small corridor to Russia, Moscow is looking only for a propaganda victory.

Ukraine and Russia disagreed on the outcome of the third round of talks in Belarus today. While a negotiator from Kyiv spoke of "positive results", a Russian negotiator said their expectations were "not fulfilled", news agency AFP reported.
