US firefighters rescue ‘disoriented’ dog swimming in Lake Waban

Firefighters in Massachusetts saved a “disoriented” dog who got lost while swimming in a lake. Photos of the rescue mission were shared by authorities.

While the dog was difficult to control at first, it was scooped up and taken to the docks of Lake Waban. The dog was later reunited with its family.

Laura Muckerheide, who appeared to be the dog’s owner, said that she would be a mess without it. She later thanked officials for “reuniting” her family.

“Firefighters launched their boat and scooped the wayward dog out of the water and then transported across the pond to the Wellesley College docks, where it was reunited with its family,” the Wellesley Police Department wrote on Facebook.

Multiple people applauded the firefighters for rescuing the dog. “Very glad this dog story ended happily! Thank you to our first responders,” a user wrote.
