Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall attended their first joint public engagement since the queen announced her wishes for Camilla to become Queen Consort once Charles takes the throne.

The royal couple made an appearance Wednesday (9 FEB 2022) at the British Museum for a British Asian Trust event where they mingled with guests and the prince spoke to the crowd of 350.

In his speech, he referred to Camilla as "my mehbooba," which means "my beloved" in Urdu.

"I cannot quite believe it is almost two years to the day that both my mehbooba and myself were able to be with all of you to celebrate the work of the British Asian Trust," the prince said. "Since then, across the globe, there has been terrible loss of life from this dreadful pandemic and we have especially seen the devastating impact throughout south Asia."
