Go Digit IPO: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's Rs 2.5 cr investment grows to Rs 10 Cr

Go Digit General Insurance's stock market debut on May 23 has yielded significant returns for Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, who invested in the insurer in February 2020.

With the share price crossing 300 rupees per share, the couple's investment has grown four-fold.

As per the company's red herring prospectus, ace cricketer Virat Kohli purchased 266,667 shares at 75 rupees each, totaling 2 crore rupees, while actor Anushka Sharma acquired 66,667 shares for 50 lakh rupees, bringing the couple’s combined investment to 2.5 crore rupees.

Now, Virat Kohli's investment has increased to 8 crore rupees, and Anushka Sharma’s has grown to 2 crore rupees, making their combined shares worth 10 crore rupees.

Shares of Go Digit General Insurance, backed by Canada-based Fairfax, got listed on Thursday with a premium of over 5 per cent against the issue price of 272 rupees.

Shares of Go Digit General Insurance Ltd, backed by Canada-based Fairfax, got listed on Thursday and ended with a premium of over 12 per cent against the issue price of Rs 272.

The stock began the trade at Rs 281.10, up 3.34 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. During the day, it climbed 15.44 per cent to Rs 314. Shares of the company ended at Rs 305.75 apiece, up 12.40 per cent.

On the NSE, it listed at Rs 286, reflecting a jump of 5.14 per cent. The stock ended at Rs 305.65 each, up 12.37 per cent.

The company's market valuation stood at Rs 28,043.46 crore.
