In a recent announcement, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has declared a trading holiday for both equity and derivatives markets on Monday, January 22. The decision comes in light of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony taking place in Ayodhya on the same day.

Trading enthusiasts should take note that while equity and equity derivatives will remain unaffected on Saturday, January 20, with markets open from 9 am (pre-open) to 3:30 pm, the holiday declaration pertains solely to Monday, January 22. The NSE emphasized that this decision aligns with the public holiday declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

In its release, the NSE also provided additional information regarding trading in commodities. Starting from Monday, trading in commodities will commence at 5 pm, offering a distinct schedule for those involved in these markets.

This move by the NSE aims to accommodate the significance of the Ram Temple consecration ceremony, acknowledging the importance of the occasion for the public. Investors and market participants are advised to plan their activities accordingly, considering the announced holiday on January 22 for equity and derivatives markets.

As the NSE continues to adapt its schedule to various events, market participants are encouraged to stay updated on any further developments or announcements to ensure smooth and informed trading experiences.
