Aamir Khan's Next Project: Will He Take on the Kishore Kumar Biopic?

Aamir Khan has completed shooting for 'Sitaare Zameen Par' and is now exploring various projects for his next feature film. Earlier this month, Pinkvilla reported that Aamir is considering five films, including the Ujjwal Nikam biopic, Rajkumar Santoshi's comedy Char Din Ki Zindagi, a superhero film by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Zoya Akhtar's upcoming project, and a sequel to his cult classic, 'Ghajini'.

Now, Pinkvilla has learned that another film has entered Aamir’s consideration. Sources close to the development indicate that Aamir Khan and Anurag Basu are in discussions about a biopic on legendary singer Kishore Kumar, produced by Bhushan Kumar. “The Kishore Kumar biopic is a project that resonates deeply with Anurag Basu and Bhushan Kumar, and they aim to present it in a compelling manner. Aamir Khan is a big admirer of Kishore Kumar and is excited about Basu's unique vision for depicting the legend's life,” the source revealed.

Aamir and Anurag have had several meetings, with the collaboration progressing positively. Currently, scripts for the Kishore Kumar biopic, the Ujjwal Nikam biopic, and Santoshi’s comedy are finalized, while 'Ghajini 2', Lokesh Kanagaraj’s superhero film, and Zoya Akhtar's next are still in development. Aamir is expected to decide on his immediate project by the end of this year.

Anurag Basu is busy shooting a yet-untitled love story featuring Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri, which is expected to wrap by April 2025. If Aamir gives the green light for the Kishore Kumar biopic by year’s end, filming could begin by late 2025.
