‘Adipurush’ teaser: MP Home Minister slams director Om Raut, says there are ‘objectionable scenes’

The teaser of ‘Adipurush’, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, was unveiled on October 2 and it has been a target of trolls for many reasons.

‘Adipurush’ teaser: MP Home Minister slams director Om Raut, says there are ‘objectionable scenes’

Prabhas-starrer ‘Adipurush’ has been making headlines ever since the teaser was unveiled, and it is not for the right reasons. The teaser of the Om Raut-directorial has been a target of trolls for CGI, VFX and costumes, which have left the audience unimpressed.

Now, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has voiced his anger. According to news agency ANI, he has warned the makers of the upcoming film of legal action if scenes showing Hindu religious figures in an objectionable way are not removed.

‘I have seen the trailer of Adipurush. There are objectionable scenes in it. Hanuman ji is shown wearing leather, whereas the description (in the scriptures) of the deity's costume is different… These are scenes that hurt religious sentiments. I am writing a letter to Om Raut to remove all such scenes from the film. If not removed, we will consider legal action,’ Ani quoted Mr. Mishra as saying.

He reportedly also cited a religious text in support of his contention.

In July this year, MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra had asked the State police to file a First Information Report over the controversial poster of Leena Manimekalai's documentary 'Kaali'.

Om Raut’s film stars Prabhas as Lord Ram, Saif Ali Khan as Ravan and Kriti Sanon as Sita. It is based on Ramayana. BJP spokesperson Malavika Anand has also slammed the director for ‘misrepresentation’ of Ramayana.
