Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday’s upcoming film, inspired by the life of C. Sankaran Nair, is set to hit cinemas on March 14, 2025. Pinkvilla exclusively revealed in September that the film would release in the first half of 2025, and now, Dharma Productions has officially confirmed the date.

On October 18, Dharma Movies’ Instagram account shared the big news about their untitled project. The post described the film as a gripping story that "unveils the shocking cover-up of a massacre," pushing India’s top lawyer, C. Sankaran Nair, to take on the British Empire. The movie, based on real-life events, draws inspiration from the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday and is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. Set in the backdrop of India's struggle for independence, it explores Nair’s legendary legal battle against Michael Francis O'Dwyer, a key figure of the British Empire, seeking justice for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Fans were quick to express their excitement on social media, flooding the comments section with red-heart, and fire emojis. One fan exclaimed, "Yay!!! Excited @ananyapanday," while others called the film "interesting" and predicted that it would succeed at the box office.

A source close to the project shared that the post-production team is working hard to recreate the historical settings of India and London during the time period, ensuring authenticity and grandeur.

Karan Johar had first announced the project in 2021.
