Actor Akshay Kumar took to Instagram stories on Sunday and shared some pearls of humour written by wife, author Twinkle Khanna in a weekly column in a daily. He wrote, ‘Some anmol ratans (precious pearls) of humour courtesy the pen of @twinklerkhanna.’

In the column, the actor-turned-author took a dig at the Indians who were glued to their screens for two hours to watch King Charles III's coronation. She compared it to occasionally stalking an ex-lover's page on social media.

Twinkle wrote, ‘I can understand the British being invested in King Charles' coronation, but so are a large number of Indians despite our legacy of colonisation. This fascination seems a bit like a relationship with an ex-lover, even one who has mistreated you. You don't miss them or ever want them back, but still find yourself occasionally stalking their Instagram feed, or as in this case, streaming live broadcasts of what one of my daughter's classmates described as, 'Two hours of watching a man sitting on a chair and trying on a hat'.’

She also brought up the Kohinoor controversy and requested the British government not only to return the Kohinoor but also the two other anmol ratans- Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya.

King Charles III's coronation was a widely covered event on May 6. Actor Sonam Kapoor had performed in Windsor at the coronation concert a day later.

Akshay Kumar is currently working on the action thriller ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ alongside Tiger Shroff. It is scheduled to release in theatres on the occasion of Eid 2024.
