Akshay Kumar is set to be back in comedy genre as he is reportedly collaborating with director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba.

Known for his perfect comic timing, Akshay Kumar is the best actor in the industry in the genre. While ‘Khiladi’ Kumar has been seen in some action films, he is all set to return to comedy. A Pinkvilla report suggests that the actor is joining hands with ‘Fukrey’ director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba for his next film.

Deets about the film

According to the report, Akshay Kumar is all set to collaborate with ‘Fukrey’ director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba for a comedy film. The report quoted a source saying, “Akshay also loves the comedy genre and has been looking out for scripts that do justice to his impeccable comic timing. He recently met Mrigdeep Singh Lamba and was bowled over by the idea, as the director is looking to create yet another ‘Hatke’ world after the Fukrey Franchise. It’s an out-and-out comic entertainer, which marries physical and situational comedy.”

The film will reportedly go on the floors in the second half of this year and will be released next year. Apart from Akshay Kumar, casting for the other characters is currently underway. Mahaveer Jain is producing the film while Gautam Mehra is film’s writer.

Akshay Kumar’s current projects

On the workfront, Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his next film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ which will release on April 10. Besides, he also has ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Jolly LLB 3’, and ‘Housefull 5’ in the pipeline.

Meanwhile Mrigdeep has directed the three films of ‘Fukrey’ franchise which have been received really well by the audience and now looks forward to direct his next comedy riot.
