‘Brahmastra’ has become the number one movie at the global box office during the weekend. This is the first time ever a Bollywood film has topped the worldwide charts and the third for any Indian film, and all this within the last two years.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’ has reportedly become the number one movie at the global box office during the weekend. According to Pinkvilla, this is the first time ever a Bollywood film has topped the worldwide charts and the third for any Indian film, and all this within the last two years. Before the Ayan Mukerji directorial, Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Master’ and SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, starring NTR Jr. and Ram Charan, achieved this feat.
In its first weekened, ‘Brahmastra’ grossed an estimated amount of $26.50 million (Rs. 211 crores) worldwide, out of which it grossed $18 million in India, $4.50 million in North America and $4 million from the rest of the world.

Director Hansal Mehta is among one of the celebrities who has reviewed the film and is in awe of the visual spectacle. The filmmaker could not get the tickets for late night show, so he watched it in the morning on Sunday.

Reviewing the film on Twitter, he wrote, ‘I really enjoyed #Brahmastra. What I enjoyed even more is going to a cinema hall for a nearly 60-70% full morning show after failing to get tickets for last night’s shows.And long queues for the later shows at the same multiplex. The 2nd part is going to be HUGE (sic).’

He also praised the team's zeal behind making ‘Brahmastra’. ‘So much respect for the passion and perseverance of #AyaanMukherjee @karanjohar @malhotra_namit . Also the ever luminous #RanbirKapoor and @aliaa08. I really hope this film works wonders.
