Alia Bhatt talks about being trolled, says ‘if you don’t like me, don’t watch me’

Alia Bhatt is trending on Twitter and this time it’s not for the right reasons. The actor’s recent statement ‘if you don't like me, don't watch me’ in an interview has irked the netizens leading to 'Boycott Brahmastra', 'Boycott Bollywood' trend on Twitter.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Alia opened up about how extreme trolling affected her and said that the only way she could shut the conversation down was through her movies.
‘So, don’t respond, don’t feel bad. Of course, I felt bad. But feeling bad is a small price to pay for the work that you are respected and loved for. I delivered a film like ‘Gangubai’. So, who’s having the last laugh? At least until I deliver my next flop? For now, I am laughing!’, she said.
‘I can’t keep defending myself verbally. And if you don’t like me, don’t watch me. I can’t help it. That’s something I can’t do. People have something to say. Hopefully, I will prove to them with my movies that I am actually worth the space I occupy.’ She added.

Netizens have slammed the ‘Raazi’ actor’s comments with one stating that ‘Bollywood seems to be losing its mind’. Another user tweeted, ‘Diya bujhne se pehle bohot fadfadta hai.. Audience has the right to choose dear @aliaa08 That's all! Quality, Humility, Sensibility.... Just as everyone has freedom of Speech, Freedom of Choice also exists.. #BoycottBollywood’

Alia Bhatt’s next film ‘Brahmastra’, co-starring husband Ranbir Kapoor, is scheduled to release in theatres on September 9.
