A R Rahman is riding high on the success of his recent release ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. The music of the film, based on the life of one of Punjab’s most loved singers, is getting praises and love from the audience. The music legend recently opened up about the possibility of working with global pop sensation Taylor Swift.

A R Rahman wants to collaborate with Taylor Swift

In a recent interview with Connect FM Canada, Rahman was asked about a possible collaboration with the pop-singer. Rahman expressed his desire to work with the ‘Love Story’ singer and said that the genre does not matter for Taylor Swift. He said, “Whatever she wants! If she wants a dance number, it will be a dance number, if she wants a romantic number, it will be a romantic number. She writes the lyrics anyway.”

      ‘She is an inspiration’

Praising the 14-time Grammy winner, Rahman said that the singer is an inspiration to musicians around the world. “If people take the power of music to do good things, it is great. Michael Jackson had the power to do that. He did a lot of charity concerts and did philanthropy work in Africa. It is nice to see Taylor attaining that. She has gone through so much. She got cheated and made a comeback. She is a good case study and inspiration for musicians,” Rahman added.

The mere possibility of the two most loved musicians of this era collaborating is enough to give butterflies to music lovers. While Swift is gearing up for the release of her next album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, Rahman is enjoying the success of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ and has multiple projects lined up.
