After 25 days in jail, Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan gets bail in drugs case

After staying in jail for over 2 weeks, the Bombay High Court finally granted bail to Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in the drugs on cruise case.

Bail has been also granted to the two other accused, Arbaaz Merchantt and Munmum Dhamecha, who are also expected to walk out of jail, along with Aryan Khan on Friday.

Aryan Khan's lawyer Mukul Rohatgi told the media that Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha will hopefully walk out of jail on Friday or Saturday.

The high court will share the detailed order on Friday, including the operative parts of its judgement. Until the court gives the operative part of the order, the accused will remain in jail.

Aryan Khan's lawyer Mukul Rohatgi argued in the Bombay High Court that it is a violation of constitutional rights to use retracted statements at the time of the bail hearing.

Rohatgi also argued that the NCB cannot "lump together" all the different amounts of drugs found and then say that "commercial quantity" has been recovered.

ASG Anil Singh, arguing for the NCB, told the Bombay High Court about the NCB's three main charges against Aryan. First, Aryan Khan was found in conscious possession of drugs. Second, he was connected with drug peddlers, and third, his arrest is valid.

Aryan Khan was arrested on October 2, along with friends Arbaaz Merchantt and Munmum Dhamecha after the NCB busted a rave party on a Goa-bound cruise ship, off teh coast of Mumbai.
