‘Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha’ trends: Kangana Ranaut accuses Aamir Khan of ‘skilfully curating’ negativity

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is all set to release in theatres on August 11. However, the call to boycott the film is trending on Twitter over ‘PK’ actor’s 2015 comment about ‘growing intolerance’ in the country. While a few celebrities like Milind Soman have come out in support of the comedy-drama, Kangana Ranaut has taken to Instagram to react to the trolling ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is receiving. She claims that the negativity around the film has been ‘skilfully curated’ by Aamir Khan himself, but 'intolerant India' will be blamed for it.
In her post, she mentioned that no Hindi films have worked this year, barring a comedy sequel. She stated that only south films deeply rooted in Indian culture and with local flavour have achieved success and a Hollywood remake would have not worked anyway.
Kangana further mentioned that it's not about being a Hindu or Muslim, but understanding the pulse of audiences.
Several Twitter users resurfaced a video of Aamir Khan’s 2015 controversial statement online. They have also criticised his former wife Kiran Rao for saying that she considered leaving the country for the safety of her child.
Aamir shared his thoughts on boycott 'Laal Singh Chaddha' Twitter trend in a recent media interaction and appealed to everyone to not boycott his film.
‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is an official Hindi remake of the 1994 Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’ that starred Tom Hanks. The Advait Chandan directorial also stars Naga Chaitanya in a pivotal role.
