‘Darlings’, Alia Bhatt’s first film as a producer, is all set to release on Netflix on August 5, and the actor is ‘excited, nervous and thrilled’ about it. Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Alia revealed that Gauri Khan, the co-producer of her upcoming film, has liked the movie and it is a ‘big win’ for her. She mentioned that Gauri rarely likes anything and she is relieved that she loved ‘Darlings’.

‘I was very happy that Gauri loved it. I was like when Gauri likes my movies, I feel very grateful. It is a very rare thing. She doesn't like anything. Even though she is a producer of the movie, the fact that she loved it, I feel so relieved,’ she said

Alia Bhatt unveiled the trailer of ‘Darlings’ on Monday along with co-stars Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and debutant director Jasmeet K Reen.

The dark comedy narrates the story of Badru, a strong-minded woman, and her mother. The duo kidnaps Badru's husband Hamza, played by Vijay Varma, in order to teach him a lesson. Alia’s production banner Eternal Sunshine Productions has produced the film in collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. At the trailer launch, Alia mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan told her that he generally doesn't co-produce films but he made an ‘exception’ for her.

Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt co-starred in the 2016 film ‘Dear Zindagi’.
