In an exclusive conversation with editorji, Ayushmann speaks about his film Anek, the debate over language superiority, regional cinema, and his biggest learning.

Headlined by Ayushmann Khuranna, who steps into the shoes of an undercover officer, 'Anek', is a political action thriller about an Indian who will rise and make India win. The film was shot in extraordinary locations in the North East. As an audience, Anek demands undisturbed attention. But what did the film and the script seek from Ayushmann? "Anek demanded empathy from me. As a human being, where do you stand…It was challenging for me," answers Ayushmann.

He also touched upon regional cinema and the ongoing debate over language superiority during the interview. However, Ayushmann opines that it shouldn't be a debate of superiority. Commenting on the issue, he says, "This is not a country where you can put one language, culture at a pedestal. You have to love and appreciate every aspect of this country."

Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Andrea Kevichusa in the lead, Anek is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Benaras Mediaworks.
