      Even though the superstar Aamir Khan had made his ‘debut’ in Bollywood as a child actor in ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat’, he made his full-fledged debut in films with the romantic flick ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’. Ever since the release of this film, it’s really wonderful to see how Aamir Khan has evolved as an actor. One look at his repertoire of films, we will find that the versatile actor has been a part of some of the best films that Bollywood has ever made. Looking at his career graph spanning as many as 30 years, it won’t be wrong to say that Aamir Khan has definitely carved a niche for himself. As the ‘Dangal’ actor turns 57 today, we, at Editorji, look at some of the roles that played a catalyst in making him ‘Mr. Perfectionist’.

      Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

      ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ is a coming-of-age story that revolved around three college friends, their personal relationships and also their camaraderie. The film was Farhan Akhtar's first directorial. One could easily resonate with the characters of the three best friends- Aakash, Sameer and Sid played by Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna respectively. Even after 21 years, 'Dil Chahta Hai' is remembered as one of the best films of Aamir Khan.

      Rang De Basanti (2006)

      This film was another tale of friendship, love and sacrifice - the story of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra etches onto your heart. Aamir Khan's spellbinding performance as 'Daljeet DJ' in the film touched our hearts.

      According to the director, without Aamir’s nod, Rang De Basanti would have been another dreamer’s script gathering the dust of apathy and inertia. He even added that Aamir’s cinematic understanding remains unparalleled in our industry.

      Taare Zameen Par (2007)

      Taare Zameen Par is definitely one of the most loved films of all time. The portrayal of the child artist Darsheel Safary as the kid ‘Ishaan Awasthi' definitely opened up many minds who were unaware of the ailment ‘dyslexia’. It was Aamir Khan and his sensitive portrayal of the art teacher 'Ram Nikumbh' that made everyone realize the kind of help and support dyslexic children need.

      The critically acclaimed film not only won numerous awards nationally, but also made it as India’s official entry to the prestigious ‘Academy Awards’.

      Three Idiots (2009)

      The film ‘Three Idiots is ranked among the top 10 highest grossing films in Bollywood. The Rajkumar Hirani film made us laugh hard and also made us cry. Released in 2009, the film inspired the youth to pursue their goals, come what may.

      Aamir Khan's superlative performance as the ‘carefree but responsible’ 'Raancho' won every heart who saw the film. Even after a decade, the character of 'Raancho' remains etched in our memories. 'Raancho' taught everyone to smile through tough times with the help of his magic mantra "All Izz Well".

      PK (2014)

      By his own admission, Aamir Khan had once revealed in a press conference that his role in the film ‘PK’ was one of the best in his career. Even though Aamir played the role of an alien, his portrayal of the titular role was so endearing that it made him the talk of the nation.

      Aamir's impeccable Bhojpuri accent in the film was the icing on the cake. No wonder, the film went on to smash many records at the Box-Office and create new ones.
