Happy Birthday Mahesh Bhatt : Mahesh Bhatt is one of the most prominent filmmakers who is known for his cinematic brilliance. He has always been known for choosing topics which he could relate to and carve it into the celluloid. He made many films on the issues persisting in the society ranging from out-of-wedlock birth to old couple's anxieties. From Filmfare awards to National Film Awards, there is no accolade left for this man to achieve.

Let’s take a look at five of Mahesh Bhatt’s films that you must watch

Arth (1982)

Starring Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Smita Patil, and Shabana Azmi, this film is said to have been inspired from his own life. It narrates the story of a filmmaker who is having an extra-marital affair with an actress and decides to leave his wife.

Saaransh (1984)

The film, which dealt with the issue of loneliness and corruption, starred Anupam Kher and Rohini Hattangadi. When an old couple's only son is killed, they are left with nothing to look forward to in life.

Aashiqui (1990)

The musical drama starred two debutants Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The film revolves around an aspiring singer and an aspiring model, who fall in love with each other, and later helping each other in their respective careers.

Naam (1986)

The film starred Sanjay Dutt, Kumar Gaurav, and Nutan in the lead roles. It is a story of Vicky, a small-time criminal, who moves to Hong Kong, but he lands in a difficult situation as he obtains a false visa. He is then forced to work for a ruthless smuggler.

Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993)

Starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla, the film narrates the story of Rahul, who is the guardian of his mischievous nephews - Sunny and Vicky, and niece, Munni. Trouble ensues when the kids befriend a runaway bride and decide to bring her home without Rahul's consent.
