Mona Singh is an actor and television presenter. Born on October 8, 1981 in Chandigarh, she started her acting career playing the lead role of Jassi in popular TV show ‘Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin’. Her bubbly, braces-wearing character won many hearts and the actor went on to star in a various other serials, reality shows, and films.

Mona was the winner of the first season of celebrity dancing reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ on Colors. She has also featured in shows like ‘Kya Huaa Tera Vaada’, ‘Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do’ and ‘Kavach...Kaali Shaktiyon Se’.

Mona Singh made her Bollywood debut in 2009 with ‘3 Idiots’ (2009), in which portrayed the role of Kareena Kapoor’s elder sister. The Rajkumar Hirani-directorial, which also starred Aamir Khan, R Madhavn and Sharman Joshi, went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Following this, she featured in films like ‘Utt Pataang’ (2011), ‘Zed Plus’ (2014), and ‘Amavas’ (2019).

Mona Singh has also been part of web series such as ‘Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain’, ‘Yeh Meri Family’, ‘Mission Over Mars’, and ‘Black Widows’.

Besides acting, she hosted television shows such as ‘Comedy Nights Live’ and ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’.

Mona Singh was last seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, an official adaptation of Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’. She played the role of Aamir Khan’s mother in the Advait Chandan directorial, which released in theatres on August 11, 2022.
