Janhvi Kapoor spills the beans on paparazzi culture in India: 'Every celebrity has a ration card'

When quizzed if paparazzi follow the celebs or are informed beforehand about their schedules, Janhvi Kapoor revealed that it depends on the popularity of the celeb in focus.

Janhvi Kapoor spills the beans on paparazzi culture in India: 'Every celebrity has a ration card'

Janhvi Kapoor is currently awaiting the release of her film, 'Mr and Mrs Mahi,' co-starring Rajkummar Rao. Ahead of the big release, Janhvi has been on a promotional spree, and she has been making some bombshell revelations during her interviews. In her recent candid conversation with The Lallantop, Janhvi shared insight into the modus operandi of paparazzi culture, revealing that they have a ration card for every celebrity and that they get paid per photo of a star, depending on their popularity.

Janhvi on paparazzi culture

When asked about her views on the paparazzi culture which have seen an intense rise in the past few years, Kapoor got candid and spilt some inside beans. She said, “Like right now, Mr and Mrs Mahi's promotion is going on; they are called to the airport to click my picture. But when the film's promotion is not happening, when I am not going for shoots, when I want to disappear, then, if they want to put in extra effort, and this has happened many times, they follow the car because they get paid for every picture, every image.”

She further added, “Every celebrity has a ration card. Their pictures sell for so much. If your price is high, they reach you, follow your car. If the price is not that high, you call paparazzi.”

Janhvi Kapoor's upcoming films

'Mr and Mrs Mahi' sees Janhvi reunite with her 'Roohi' co-star Rajkummar Rao. The romantic comedy has been directed by Sharan Sharma and backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Janhvi will also be seen in Sudhansh Saria's espionage thriller, 'Ulajh', co-starring Gulshan Deviah, Roshan Mathew and Adil Hussain. She is also awaiting her South debut with 'Devara' led by Jr NTR. She will reunite with her 'Bawaal' co-star Varun Dhawan for the upcoming film 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
